The text was sent out to all the current advanced trainees: Senior hunters could be found making their way through the halls to the pod rooms, whispering quietly to each other, faces set and serious. Just outside the room, Caelius and H were waiting for the advanced trainees to arrive. Their moods typical, if slightly on edge due to the JOY withdrawal.

Jude was hanging out in his room when he suddenly got his text and blinked down at it blankly for a moment as he pushed away from his window that he was staring out of looking toward the distant sea or at least where he knew the sea was. The young Hunter put on his coat and then stepped out of his room before he eventually found his way to the Pod Room.
..What was this about? He didn't know.
Yom seemed to have no interesting speculation as she gave a mental shrug in response to any prodding he may have made. For now he just waited to be instructed and for others to arrive to see what would happen next.

Well, this was certainly urgent. Candace wasn't normally one to waste time and now was no exception. She grabbed her coat, slipping on a pair of random shoes and not giving a damn if they matched her outfit. The coat was thrown on as she hurried to the pod room, now. Wait, how many hunters were going to this? Even seniors? That was unusual...
She shivered as she made her way to the room, rubbing her arms like some kind of drug addict that was forced to go cold turkey and was itching for another hit. Candace wasn't sure why she was feeling this way. It was so strange, like...all the happiness in her was dying away.
Not all of it but you get the meaning.
"Oh!" Candace came to a stop when she nearly walked right into Caelius and H, stumbling back with a faint blush. That was so unlike her! Candace didn't usually drift into thought like that... "Hello.." Her gaze fell first on Caelius and then on H, the latter of the two getting a longer look as she cleared her throat and stepped back away from him, rubbing her lips together. She was still disappointed about Christmas Eve. "Caelius, Doctor."

Cass had learned to be dressed and ready to go at near any moment - unless it was a day off. Then she was at least available to get ready to run out the door at any moment with a swap of clothing. It was an adaption, really.
Though she sort of was feeling a 'crash' of sorts from the sudden lack of JOY floating around anybody, less energetic - less able to jump up and get going on a moment's notice. It had taken her approximately 30 seconds longer than usual to just motivate herself to get moving. She was sure Caelius would disapprove, but she arrived on Candace's heels, patting the older girl on the back with a grin before she found a place to settle.
She nodded to the others who had assembled in the room thus far, bowing her head slightly towards both Caelius and H, but not bearing greeting yet, just a tired looking smile instead.

Ah!! His first real true mission since promotion! Jerry had snapped his new coat on sharply, wrapped his scarf around his neck proudly, checked himself in the mirror smartly before saluting his reflection, straightening his glasses, and marching forth.
Hangovers, Joyovers, it was all left messily in the toilet behind him, and forward lay a brand new day. And if he willed himself forward, he could ignore the panging, tums-craving aftermath of a Holiday Well Spent.
Ah! Everyone was still arriving! He actually wasn't late this time! The six cups of coffee he drank moments after receiving the text helped ensure the bright smile on his face as he wove down the familiar faces, trotting to join them, "Candy! Jude! Hey! Are you guys excited??"

A text at a normal hour? One that didn't call him John Windwalker or contain smilies? HOT DAMN IT WASN'T FROM JULIE. BEST GIFT EVER. Okay, not really but it was close. Marcus really didn't want to have another round of 'god damn what the hell am I getting now this is terrible Julie why do you make me do these things'. Dr. H and Caelius? In the same area and not bickering? Also a small holiday miracle. Jude, Candace, Jerry and Cass had arrived but- no one else so far. He was usually the late one too.
Maybe it was the fact he was kind of hoping that they had a mission for something nice. maybe it was the fact he had been trying to gorge himself on cookies to not feel so agitated or depressed. Either way, he was not in the best state of mind, non-Julie missions or not.
Gravitating next to Cass he didn't even move to touch her. PDA seemed like it would just be stopped anyway. "Reporting for duty sirs." Looking at his fellow trainees he smiled. "Hey guys." Jerry. You- You were smiling way to hard WHY WERE YOU SMILING STOP IT.God, why did the guy become a hunter? Dis said it was probably due to you know, having skill. Never mind he kicked Marcus’s a** in sparring. That showed nothing right? It was just luck. A bunch of lucky shots. Totally not why the guy was a sun hunter. Marcus huffed. Damn it jerry stop smiling like that you happy a*****e.

When Before got the message, he felt his stomach knot ten million times. He was still... reluctant to be a Misty but there wasn't anything he could do about it. Especially not after recent events. The teal-eyed trainee grabbed for his coat, tying it around his waist as he ran to the POD room. He still couldn't bring himself to actually put it on and he scowled at the thought.
Arriving to find a sizable group was already there, Before silently entered and kept his mouth shut and eyes downcast. The muppet was under repairs, please make do with Tickle-Me-Emo in the meantime.

A hand against her back had her looking back to see who was touching her, looking fairly alarmed by it until she realized it was just Cass. She smiled. "Oh, hey. You startled me there. Not sure why I'm feeling so jumpy it's weird I--Jerry~!" Like a magnet she gravitated toward Jerry when he called out to her and held his hand, giving him a sweet kiss on the cheek. "Hello, Jerrbe--excited? Um...n-not..exactly?" She paused a moment.
...Why was Jerry so cheerful?
"..Have you been drinking?" Please say no please say no please say no.
Someone else called out a greeting and she looked up to give Marcus a wave. "Hey, Marcus. Hey, Bih--..." Nope. Candace looked pointedly away from Before. Oh! But there was Jude! She grinned and gave him a wave as well.

Robert was up and ready at the pod room within five minutes of the text's arrival. There was no funny shirt this time, and no quirky bursts of greeting. He just walked in, very quietly, and kept his head down and his collar up. He took flank beside one of the pods, a silent statue of regret.
This Christmas didn't happen. Do you hear him, inner voice? It didn't happen.

Bix hadn't been seen much after the Christmas Gala. He'd been pretty joyed out and once the laments of not being the real Santa Claus was over, all the other awkward moments and kissing and hugging and dancing really settled in. He'd decided sleeping it off would be the best bet. This left no moment where he thought to jog or train and when Mina finally decided to speak to him again she'd been nothing but a nag. The text message was a relief, to his weapon anyway, and he sleemed sluggish as he walked down the hall to the mission. Seeing so many senior hunters made him uneasy. Why? Because they outranked him... and he didn't know them. As his peers gathered he was happy to see so many had been promoted. His eyes slid over each coat and he took in all the extra details. The albino hunter slid up next to Before, of course, and patted him in the back. If he noticed the change in division he didn't mention it. His bro looked pretty upset for the moment so all he did was nudge him and smile. "Yo bro."

Gale shuffled into the room after Bix, yawning and looking a little worse for the wear, with dark circles beneath his eyes and his hair messily pulled back into its ponytail. He didn't have much to be embarrassed about from the effects of the JOY (at least, not too much), but he still felt slightly awkward as it was - namely about two people specifically.
It was a good thing the two people in question were still beginner trainees - especially since, by the looks of it, half of the original group were now intermediates. Candace, Marcus, Jude, Cass, Jerry, Robert, Before, Bix...
Not to mention he still felt weirdly jittery from all that JOY being suddenly gone. It was like getting the DT's after going without alcohol, though with a slightly less drastic effect.
"Morning," said Gale to Bix, giving Before a somewhat sleepy nod in greeting as he slouched nearer. The presence of both Caelius and Dr. H made him straighten, a small frown on Gale's face, but he nodded to the both of them, murmuring a quiet greeting before taking his place in the pod room. He gave everyone a small wave, suppressing an exhausted yawn, and leaned against the nearest wall, one gloved hand idly rubbing against his temple.

The young man tried to give Bix a smile, oh did he try. The grin he managed to force, however, was just that. Very obviously forced. And a tiny bit on the creepy side too. Thankfully it was brief and Gale arrived with a quick greeting. "Ah, yo, g'morning," he nodded, lacking his usual enthusiasm. "Got up on the wrong side of the bed?" he halfheartedly teased.
All Before needed were the steel-toed boots and the side-swept bangs to make it seem like he was reliving the Emo-clique-phase from high school. With the Evil Miss Popular Queen (currently the reason why Linkin Park was playing in Before's head at that moment) being in the same room as he was. "Heh, mebbe I shouldn't have gone for my promotion," he murmured softly just enough for only Bix to hear.

"Pffffft.." Bix fist bumped Gale's arm as he came in but his obnoxious noise was directed at Before. The taller hunter leaned back, took a good look over at Before's deliberately folded and tied coat. His friend had done a pretty good job of trying to hide his division and it was very deliberate but Bix just shrugged.
"Dude.. Mist is full of hawt chicks. What are you complaining for?" He whispered back. "Plus while I get to run out and die you get to do all the other fun stuff." Which was basically just anything else that may not get you killed.
Bix once more pushed Before's arm with his fist. It was a distinct 'stop being a whiner it's not that bad' motion. Bix had no idea about any events that led up to Before's promotion so he was safe with his tough love attitude.

"No," said Gale in reply to Before, with as much dignity as he could possibly muster with his hair all mussed and bleary eyes. "I got up on the right side of the bed, thank you very much."
But he managed to crack a small, wry smile at the other anyway. His gaze flickered across the back of Before's coat, his brow furrowing just the smallest amount at the abrupt shift in divisions - hadn't Before been in Life? The jacket tied around his waist made it difficult to distinguish the markings, but it didn't look like a tree...
Gale did not comment. Instead he glanced over at Bix and rolled his eyes.
"Any idea why we're in here?"

Eight "..Have you been drinking?" Please say no please say no please say no. "Just coffee, ahahahah- Six cups so far, I was feeling a bit under the weather this morning but after the second pot the vomiting stopped so!" Again, Jerry was still beaming. "It was definitely some party, wasn't it?" When the coffee wore off, who knew what state the man would be but the important thing was, he had only put the tiniest splashes of Dr H's gift to him into said cups of coffee and he was ready to rock!
