Watching T.V., something that a normal noodle did a lot. For Teak this was very difficult. He couldn't what was so amazing about it. He had watch it for sometime now and yet he couldn't grasp any of the superhero shows. They save the princess and yet she still manage to caught once again. If Teak was there he wouldn't let the princess out of his sight. They were silly very silly, the superhero didn't know the number one rule of being a superhero. Never let someone out of your sight!
....Though a lot of time Teak himself didn't listen to this either. Though he would never admitted it there was time he had to let the person he help leave. Maybe this was the reason why the princess always got caught because the superhero could never be always by her sight. He let out a long sigh. This was why he didn't watch t.v. because it made him sad that he could never do his duty right. He frown, click the clicker and left the room. He needed someone to cheer him up.

It wasn't all that late in the day when Bath found himself in the shop. His housemates were in a flurry of activity to take decorations down, and he had fled the instant they started arguing over who would shovel the path. no way! He might live there, but nothing said he had to wait around to do all the heavy work. Instead, he had come here. He wasn't sure why. He still wasn't a social person, but more and more he was gaining confidence. Less and less he felt like the odd groups of noodles were a threat to him.
Besides, Citrine wouldn't let anyone near the kitchen at home at the best of times, and right now, the only way to get food was to do chores in the kitchen at home. He was feeling lazy. There, he admitted it. But the kitchen here almost always seemed to be stocked, and it was all free. It was someone else's job to clean up after him. Besides, he had a craving for popcorn, the cheap stuff in bags with artificial flavoring and too much salt, and that wasn't stocked at home. Someday, someone's got to get her off her high-horse and get us some junk food. And by that, I mean store-bought. Digging through the cabinets, he found plenty here, and he ripped open a package to shove in the microwave. He stared at it, waiting for it to go ting, his thoughts inevitably faltering in a quiet moment. He couldn't think about that. He had to think about something else.
A random thought occurred to him--Teak, that gender-confused guy he'd met a couple months ago. What was he doing? It was odd to think that he would care at all about some random person who had seen him in a weak moment, but the more Bath thought about it, the more he thought about Teak as a possible ally. Maybe, if the worst happened, he could have some place to lie low--No. Teak did something nice for me. Ting! went the microwave in a bossy tone. He yanked it open and opened the bag of popcorn, juggling it gingerly as he leaped from the counter down to the floor. No. That wouldn't be fair. He did something nice for me, damnit, I don't want to punish him by getting him messed up in my...paranoia. It's safe here.
Distracted by his own thoughts, he dropped the popcorn on the ground. "s**t!" The popcorn spilled all over the ground, pieces rolling into the next room where someone was just turning off the television set.

It didn't occurred to him that the kitchen was near the room he was in. No nothing really occurred to him while he was trying to watch t.v.
"s**t!" A word that he hated. Really he just hated any cuss word but in this situation he knew that someone was in danger and his red ear perked up as fast a lighting hits the ground. He moved faster, his nose in the air trying to catch a scent. He moved fast and his nose faster. But all he could smell was cheap butter and gagged in respond. At least he knew it was coming from the kitchen. Rushing into the kitchen he shouted, "No worried! Teak's here to help."
Catching the slight of the person in distress in skidded to a complete halt. He couldn't believe his eyes. It was the male, the male that was in so much dismay a few months ago. What was his name....he ran over his thoughts trying to remember it. "Batholith" he said slipping out of his mouth.
Looking back he quickly covered his mouth daintily with a paw. He knew it was hard for the fox to manage with other so he didn't want to scare him. He looked down at the mess and then back up to him a bit confused. Side -stepping away from the opening to the kitchen he dropped his paw and gently smiled. "Hi! Need some help?" he said unsure what to do at this very moment.

Only one person Bath had ever met would say that phrase in seriousness. Of course, only one person Bath had ever met would refer to him/herself as "Teak." Oh, brother. Had his thoughts of the odd male...female...whatever summoned him?
After all this time, Bath found it hard to figure out what he thought of Teak. Was he grateful for the help? Or was he angry that Teak had seen him in weakness? He did something nice for me. I should be grateful, even if I think he's a bit weird. "Hey," he said in a low tone. He was careful as he knelt down to scoop up the popcorn from the floor. Old habit--both the blatant disregard for the so-called "five second rule" and the kneeling. It may have been safe here, but he wasn't ready to take any unnecessary risks. He trusted Teak, but...He shuddered away that thought. "How've you been, Teak?" he added. Teak looked a little surprised to see him. Silently, he appreciated the other male keeping his distance. He was a lot more perceptive than Bath had given him credit for. Which wasn't fair of me, he managed to figure things out okay last time. "I think I'll be okay, just dropped the popcorn."

Watching the other male frighten him. He was suppose to do that, he was supposed to help. He moved closer out of habit slowly moving his paw to scoop up some of the popcorn. "Let Teak help. She's good at getting popcorn." he said with a friendly smile. But in truth he was a bit jealous that Bath had made the move first. He looked over to the other noodle and nodded his head. "Teak's been good. I've been saving people! Mother even made me a new dress! I look like a proper young lady!" he said scooping up some more and holding it out as to give it to Bath.
He knew that he had to keep his distance but at time like these, he couldn't help but try and do something. A superhero would never just stand there and let someone in need do it their self. He looked down hoping not to scare the other fox. Hoping he would grab it and not run away..."Batholith, have you been well? Hopefully as well as Teak?" he said softly. He knew that the closer he got to this fox the more careful he had to be.

Instinctively, Bath scooped up as many of the pieces as he could, shoveling them into the bag. Force of habit. Too many times when he was younger he had lost food. He had learned not to let it slip through his fingers, especially when there was a rival to be picking up food. Nothing personal, Teak, it's just that it's my popcorn, and someone else is only gonna eat it if I give it to 'em. "That's good to hear," he said. "I'm sure your new dress looks very...pretty." There was nothing wrong with a guy wearing a dress. There was nothing wrong with being feminine. There was nothing wrong with being gay was what he was getting at, mentally. Hell, he was gay, when it came right down to it. But it was still odd, wasn't it? Or was it odder that he could easily imagine Teak in a dress, maybe one of those steam-punky sort of get-ups, maybe in brown or silver? Or gold, maybe?
"I've been...okay." His tone was guarded. "Been...better, I guess. One of my housemates spent all Christmas season putting mistletoe over my door, though. That was mostly just annoying, though." I've been sleeping a bit better. Thanks, Teak. I needed that.

He watch the male work faster to get as much popcorn as he could and frown. It wasn't like he was going to eat any of it. He would loose his girlish figure. He face turn up and he scoff a bit. He hated when guys were rude, really to a lady like him. He move over to the bag and drop what popcorn he had in his hand and move away. "Batholith...." he said quietly. "I wasn't going to steal you food." he fished taking it almost sounded like a whisper. Not much could hurt this young noodle but when other did not trust him it hurt the most.
How could he become a superhero when no one believes or trust him. He frown and moved away further. "Yeah. it's very pretty. Like one Mother would wear! It's brown with gold trimming." He said with a slight smile. Sure Teak was unhappy with the noodle at the moment but he couldn't help but smile talking about dresses. He loved them and they other then being a superhero was his passion.
Guarded tone. Check. Something was still bothering him. Teak had not gone deep enough inside his feeling to find out what the true problem was which made his face become sour. He was doing a horrible job at this superhero stuff and this lead him to warp his tail around his small frame and lower his head. "Oh. That's mean of them. Want Teak to go beat them up for you? She a good fighter! You know being a superhero in all. Teak wants to protect you from all the evil in the world! It's her job!" he nodded as he finish his words.
Yes the male had hurt him. Not trusted even but Teak couldn't resist the call for help, it was in his bones.

Bath could tell right off that he'd done something to offend Teak. But what had he done? I'knowing what I want and I'm just going to ask. To hell with the consequences. He sighed. "Okay, Teak. What did I say that bothered you? I can tell you're insulted." Most of the popcorn had been scooped up. "I didn't think you were going to steal my food, I just..." He sighed. How could he explain this to someone who'd obviously been sheltered all his/her life? "I just..." He lowered his voice. "I've gotten this far by moving when I need to. It's nothing personal, it's just kinda second nature now, y'know?"
Brown and gold. Called it. "That sounds like a very beautiful dress. And nah, don't bother about her, she did that to all of the hardasses at the House. And I can defend myself from her, or beat her up if I need to. I wouldn't call her evil, anyway." He said the last in a very, very quiet voice. And it was true. A prankster wasn't exactly what he called a "bad person," just an annoying one.

He was going to answer the male question but it seemed that it dawned on him that he already knew the answer. He sighed and looked away. He had let his emotions get the best of him. "Teak is sorry. I guess I just don't understand where you are coming from.....I just...thought...by now...you might trust me a bit more. Teak's not here to hurt you and if she's ever to become a real superhero she needs other to trust her." he said with a long sigh.
He shook his head, "Never mind. Don't worry about it. You have your own problems to deal with, plus I'm suppose to be here to help you." he said with a half smile.
He smiled once again as he talked about his dress. Most male wouldn't say that or said he was nuts, which never understood but Bath was different! "Yes! It is! Would you like to see it on sometime! I could curl my hair and everything!" he said with a great smile. "It's not problem and I could make you dinner! Then you wouldn't have to worry about me trying to steal you food...." he stop as he realize what he just said. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that...." If Teak could get anymore red then he was already then right now it was. Because he was blushing to no end..."sorry.....really. I'm not sure what's with Teak today.....

He sighed. "Teak, like I said, it's nothing personal. I just do it without thinking, okay? I do a lot of things without thinking," he added begrudgingly. "And I don't know a lot about heroes, but aren't there a lot of stories where the citizens don't trust the heroes because they don't understand them? I'm not saying that you shouldn't be a superhero, I'm just saying that superheroes, they usually aren't always trusted, y'know?" He knew he sounded lame and desperate, but he wasn't entirely certain he cared. If my old "friends" were here now, Teak, they'd tell you that this is what I'm like when I trust someone. I chat. I talk. And I don't swear at them as much.
"I don't know how you can help me. I don't know how anyone can help me. There's just...not a lot that can be done. Right now, anyway." He could almost see Teak in the dress. The offer made him a little uncomfortable, though. That almost sounded like a date, and he wasn't interested in a date, even with someone who thought they were a "young lady." Real ladies were noblewomen, and nobles did a lot of bad things with "commoners" like him. Illegal things. Immoral things. No, I trust Teak. But this is a matter of principle. I'm older now, I'm wiser, and I'm not going to let myself get into any sort of situation that could lead to that. "It's okay. That might be...interesting some time."

He frowned and pouted. He looked away unsure what to say. "Well Maybe Teak doesn't want to be a superhero like that...just forget sorry! Teak here to help not make you mad!" He said trying to cover up that he was hurt inside. He flapped his wings a bit and push his tail away from his body.
He didn't understand why he couldn't help but he just push it away and for once didn't say anything. He frown again and looked around the kitchen. He had to change this mood and fast. If one thing he didn't like was opening up to people. As a superhero should never do. "Ahh it's fine. I understand! Now worries." he paused and looked at his popcorn trying to look for a way out of the horrible situation he had place himself in. "So why did you come to...make err..popcorn here?" he said. Great dumb question but at least it would change the mood.

"Invest in really good PR, then?" Bath suggested. He was surprised to feel himself settling into the old routine of sorts: let the projecting of others slide off of him and don't react. He wasn't angry, not in the slightest, and he was definitely certain that his tone had been reasonable, and not angry at all. Teak was acting as if he were angry, though, or at least severely displeased with something. You haven't done anything to make me angry yet, Teak. You may not know it, but you're on a roll.
He watched Teak look around the room, wondering what was on his mind. Altruism was a truly alien concept to Bath, at least as it applied to other people's interaction with himself. "I came to make popcorn here because the kitchen at my house is the undisputed domain of a half-demon--not half-demonic, half-demon apparently--and she refuses to stock the cheap popcorn. No, she insists on plastic tubs full of the 'real' stuff, and that tastes about as interesting as styrofoam. So I decided to see if the kitchen at the shop had any." Left unmentioned was his terror of going to a convenience store that had a microwave--he was almost certain that the gang would have scouts or spies anywhere they thought he might frequent. They might even have some here, but there were so many people coming and going in the shop that it would be hard to find him.

"Maybe?" he said unsure what to really say back to that. He didn't need anything. He just needed to save people and he would be a very happy girl.
He laugh softly. "Oh Teak sees! Nothing better then cheap popcorn! Teak has tried the other stuff and I didn't like it that much either. It didn't have the right touch that this popcorn had." he looked around again and frown unsure what to say next. He had put himself in a strange situation. He looked around once more before glancing back at Bath. "Are you going to just eat are you planning to watch a movie? If so could Teak join! I don't get movie that well and it's a lot easier to understand with a friend." he said with a gentle smile. Hopefully Bath thought he was friend or he would make this situation even more awkward.

Friend? Bath paused, his hands tightening ever so slightly on the bag. The crinkle of the paper woke him up. Friends. Batholith didn't have friends. I didn't have friends as Drea--back then. I didn't have friends back then. He was changed. He was different. He'd taken to following the law (for the most part). He was...different. Not different enough to have friends, though. Just allies. Just people to help me when I need it. Friends are people you can trust and who like you unconditionally. No one's like that for me. He turned around to Teak. He'd planned to tell him/her this in a sharp tone, like he would with anyone else, but any plan to do so died with the hopeful expression on Teak's face. He found himself unable to hurt Teak like that. Besides, he did trust him/her. He wasn't sure why. There was no concrete evidence that he/she was trustworthy. But he trusted Teak nonetheless.
Okay, go for something neutral. "Hadn't really planned to, but if there's some movie you want to watch, I guess I'd be game?" Please let it be something good. Please let it be something that wasn't sappy.

Teak watch ever move that went through Bath's face. It showed that he was just as confused as Teak. It seem that both of them never really had friends before and the word was foreign to him. He wasn't sure why he used it on Bath but maybe because he was his friend? Most people that this noodle talk to was people he was going to save. He just stay there long enough to help them out and would leave. That was about it, nothing more. Never anything more. But with Bath he had learn things about him and meet him again? Was this what friendship suppose to be like? He frowned looking away. he hated the feeling of not knowing what to do. Feeling completely ....lost. Superhero never felt lost and yet somehow he was and he started to tear up. He quickly shook his head and wiped the tears away from his eyes. "Sorry...." he said lightly.
"Sure sure...um I don't know too many movies? Do you happen to know any?" he said softly. He was lost unsure what to do in this situation, unsure what to do at all.
