Moonlight Melody had been slumbering by the waterside when a strange rustling sound awoke her.
The moon was out, but was shrouded with clouds, so it barely illuminated the path before her. She looked about, but couldn't see very well. As she squinted towards the bushes, she heard the sound again, and was pretty sure she noticed some leaves move.
Taken aback, she raised a hoof, and when she found her voice again, called out.
"W-who's there?"

It was such a beautiful night out. Bright night. Bright light. Moon moony moon. Timeless Sense giggled. 'Oh, giggle. That's a new sound.' she thought to herself. Time wasn't sure if she liked it. She trotted forward a bit, paused to glance at a plant -- it almost sparkled in the moonlight -- then continued on, disturbing all sorts of slumbering wildlife in the swamp. "Oh shush, just go back to sleep," she whispered to a pair of scolding foxbuns, whose nest she almost squashed. If they hadn't wanted to get stepped on, they wouldn't have built their nest in the middle of the trail! Wasn't she in the middle of the trail? Taking a glance about she noticed her surroundings were no longer recognizable. Most definitely no longer on the trail. No other kin in sight. Though she did here something. Did someone call out? Time moved forward. Towards the noise. But slowly this time, to prevent angering anymore foxbuns. Those things could bite -- aha! The path! And there in the path stood a rather luminescent doe. She seemed a bit anxious. A bit odd. There weren't any predators in this part of the swamp. Just the foxbuns with their nasty teeth. "Just me!" she called out, bounding forward and bursting through the undergrowth.

The kimeti surprised her, and she let out a cry as she stumbled back and fell into the water. Oh no...
Though it wasn't deep, she really didn't like getting wet. It took FOREVER to get her tail and hair dry, and she looked sullenly at her long hair draping in the water.
Quickly scrambling to get herself up, she bowed her head at the doe.
"H-hello, you caught me by surprise. I-" She lost her train of thought as she saw the doe's hairpiece. What a lovely thing it was.
"Those feathers... she sighed wistfully. They're so beautiful... may I ask where you got them?

Ghost walks down the path, the moon's light glowing softly through her translucent body. Nestled on her back is her mongoose, Skunk. Night isn't usually a time she wanders but tonight the moon was just too pretty to ignore.
She stops abruptly when she comes around the bend, seeing two other does in the clearing. Not knowing what to do, Ghost stands absolutely still and hopes they will not see her. Meeting others was not in her plans tonight and she fervently wishes they'll not notice her. Settling her breathing into a slow and almost silent pattern, Ghost waits to see what will happen. Waiting for them to turn away so she can move without drawing attention.
This may well have worked, if Skunk hadn't chosen that moment to jump off her back and run over to the long haired doe, stopping at her hooves and looking up to chitter at her. Skunk was very loyal to Ghost, but was also extremely friendly and insatiably curious about other Kimeti.

A chittering sound caught her attention, and Melody looked down to spot... a skunk? No, it was a mongoose, with the fur pattern of a skunk.
"Oh, hello there! She bent down and rubbed her nose with the little critter."Aren't you a cute little mongoose..."
Her ears flickered as she heard a soft movement, and quickly raised her head to see what it was. Was it that sound she heard before? N-no... it was something different. Softer...
She squinted her eyes and scanned the area, but was about to dismiss the sound as a result of her over-reaction when she noticed something faint. White. A ghost?

Time shrugged.
"Picked them up, stuck them in. Can't say how long they've been there." She paused for a moment, giving it some more thought. "Nope, still don't, though I do remember some angry bird chasing me -- oh look at you adorable little thing!" she exclaimed over the skunk thing. A mongoose? Is that what the glowy doe called it.
As for the glowy doe, why did she look all tense again? Glancing about, she noticed a white shape moving through the woods.
"Oh hello!" she called out exuberantly. "Come to join the party?"

Ghost didn't reply, as if she could, but she did approach. Her first thought is to simply scruff Skunk and place her wayward mongoose back onto her shoulders. But when she actually looks at the other two does, Ghost stops and stares. The blue and yellow doe isn't too unusual, wearing feathers isn't the most uncommon thing, but its not exactly rare either. Still, Ghost does like this doe's colors, Such a pretty coat. she thinks. The other doe may not be the most unusual Kimeti around. She is, however, the most unusual Ghost has ever seen. Her horn is of particular interest to Ghost, being just the one and sticking straight out.
After several moments Ghost shakes her head, blushing and looking down when she realizes how rude she's been. Even avoiding others Ghost knows its rude to stare and here she was eyes flitting from one to the other. Worse yet, she can't even communicate with them. Bright as the moon is the night is still too dark to see her word-drawings.
Skunk takes this moment to return to Ghost, climbing up to perch on her head, front paws and chin resting between her horns.

"Really? That's a pity..." Melody slumped her shoulders. They really were such beautiful feathers.
Her attention then turned as she saw a figure move out of the shadows, and let out a small gasp as it turned out to be another doe. But not just any doe. Something about her was... different. Such striking blue eyes... and her body... it gave such an eerie feel... she wasn't sure if it was the light playing tricks on her eyes, but she felt like maybe, just possibly, she could somewhat see THROUGH her? No, that was impossible... wasn't it? Then again, the motherfather works in mysterious ways. There were those who were known to differ in appearance. Even her own appearance was different...
It was then she realized that she too was gawking, and lowered her head in shame, flustered, repeating the actions of the other doe.
She opened her mouth to ask her name, then quickly shut it as she realized she hadn't even gotten the name of the doe with the beautiful feathers on her head. How clumsy of her!
"A-ah, how terribly rude of me, I seem to have forgotten to introduce myself. M-my name is Moonlight Melody, but you may call me Melody for short. I-If I may ask... what are your names?"

Sunlit Journey was sleeping on a dry patch within the Swamp under the moonlight. Unfortunately for him, his sleep was interupted by the sound of stirring hooves and splashing in a puddle. "Who or what could that possibly be making so much noise so late at night?" Sun pulled himself up on all four legs and sleepily trudged on towards the flourish of sound.
Finally reaching the sound, he came upon three does of his own kind. They seemed to be enjoying a late night meeting. But did they have to do this here, now, while he was resting? He would be asking them this now, but he was still too tired to do anything other than rest his body against a nearby tree as they continued to drone on.

As she waited for the two before her to reply, she felt another pair of eyes watching them. Was... was it that thing from before? That... that creature?
She felt a chill go up her spine and swallowed nervously, turning ever so slowly towards the watching eyes. She could hear her heart pounding with each second, and as she finally made eye contact, she froze.
... wait, that was... it was only a buck.
"Oh, h-hello there!" she called out. "D-did we trespass on your property? I'm terribly sorry..." That... would be the only reason he was watching them, r-right? She knew some were rather possessive about their property, and disliked having others trespass.

"Oh don't be sad. Your feathers are quite nice as well. Very, very nice. Matching your coat so nicely." But the doe she was chattering away at seemed distracted once again. So Time followed her line of sight until she found the spectral shape that had stepped out of the bushes. No. No, no, no. Not a spectral. Just a buck. A very vibrant red buck, too. "Don't worry about him either," she said, continuing to chatter. "No need to be scared, worried, frightened, whatever you are. Just a buck. Wandering like us. Or not like us? Very tired, he looks. Why don't we ask! But if you're looking for ghosts, she is most definitely a ghosty ghost." Time bounded over to the rather pale and rather translucent doe, for a closer inspection. "But alive! Very, very alive. Though I suppose it does depend on your definition of alive. You're just a beauty aren't you," she cooed.

Sun looked at the does who had turned their attention to him. He listened as the the long-haired doe seemed frightened by his pressence. "He...Hello..." He was still tired and groggy, "No, you're not tresspassing...I was sleeping on a patch of grass not too far off...You just woke me up with you're little get-together."He didn't around here, and he wasn't sure anyone did. Journey was out here exploring the edge of the swamp and decided to rest here for the night and continue his exploration in the morning.

Names, they wanted her name. Of course, that is what Kimeti do when they meet. But how to tell them when her word-drawings can't be seen? How to even let them know she can't talk? Before Ghost can puzzle this out, Time walks up to her for a closer look. A little too close, maybe, but Ghost won't complain. After all, fare is fare right? Ghost blushes when Time's words sink in, beautiful isn't how she'd describe herself. Rather plane, odd yes but still she's just a blue-eyed white doe. Still, she nods her head, not sure what else to do.
Looking around, Ghost finally notices the buck. He'd been talking, right? How in the world did she miss that? So many others around, that must be it. Ghost very rarely comes around one Kimeti, let alone three at the same time. And still no way to communicate! With a little huff of breath, Ghost sits on her haunches, determined to at least listen to them all.

"O-oh, I'm sorry..." She hadn't realized they were talking that loud, but then again, she was often awake at night, so she was used to the chitters and sounds of the nighttime.
G-ghost? She turned back to look at the pale white doe, who seemed to be sitting and watching them right now. It only reminded her how vast the swamp was. Each and every kimeti differed in some way. Colours, sizes, patterns... even their body structures differed in some way. It truly was an amazing thing.
She paused, feeling as if she had forgotten something, and gasped, quickly turning back to the colourful doe. "O-oh! T-thank you... but no, they're rather quite plain compared to your beautiful colourful ones..." But before she could continue the never-ending banter of who had prettier feathers, she heard that rustling sound again, a-and... something... was watching them? Her fur stood on end as she froze, wondering if it was t-that creature from before.
"G-guys...d-do you feel like there's something... watching us?"

Sun's tired body was jerked more awake by the comment made by the blue doe about being watched. First the noisy chatter and now there were intrusive eyes staring at them from afar, somewhere in their suroundings. "Great, now I have to worry about something eyeing me like dinner." Sun sighed, knowing he wouldn't be getting anymore sleep tonight.
