Asi yawned, wandering through the tall grass, slowly making his way closer to the pridelands. He wasn't planning on going in ofcorse, there was just a good waterhole nearby the border. Though too many rogues had shown up at that waterhole for his liking, too crowded.

Thus he'd gone farther out, found that he'd only bumped into Ari in the farther lands. They were quite charming, lonely, small waterhole here and there. She'd even taken him hunting, and he'd made a kill. But unease had settled in and he'd figured he could come back to where more lions usually were.

Maybe he could start feeling himself then, rather than a rotten old buggar.

Kimaria
Amari was staring at his reflection cautiously, head tilted to the side so that the long tuft of mane dangled into his eyes. He had never been too keen on water, not liking how cold it made him feel or the way it caused his fur to cling to him. Drinking it would be the closest he ever got to it, but of course he would never show this fear to anyone...well except for Maawio who had known since the start thanks to a slight accident involving him, a river, and sheer clumsiness.

He sighed, and shifted his weight, glancing at the growing lion before him. It wouldn't be long before he was an adult, able to do anything he wanted...maybe even settle down with his little Sunshine. Yet the thought of staying put made him feel a little uneasy.

Lost in thought he didn't notice the approaching male.

Lethrossen
Asi raised a brow as he spotted Amari before him, he snorted "Enjoy yer self tha' much, do yew?" Ah already the witty comments were coming back. This indeed made him feel better, as he came up beside Amari and leaned foward, beginning to lap up the precious liquids. He had no problem with water, he enjoyed it quite a lot, even playing in it. But, like Amari not sharing his fear of it.. Asikari would not share his delight.

His tail flicked and he slowly sat, head coming away from the water, droplets dripping down his chin. His eyes were slightly closed, giving him the look of a lazy lion, something he was good at doing.

Kimaria
The rusty coloured youth gave a start at the sound of Asi's voice, hazel eyes snapping round to glance at the other male, tension finally released from his muscles as he realised who it was. He hadn't spoken to this male for a long time, well nothing properly anyway.

He gave the other a crooked, toothy grin and shook the mane out of his eyes. "Just thinking..." He said, getting up and shaking himself. Seemed his companion hadn't changed much with age...but then again he hadn't done much evolving himself, still the same lion and probably would be that way for as long as he lived.

"Where you been at? Impressing pretty ladies with your bad boy attitude no doubt." He chuckled light-heartedly.

Lethrossen
He made a face of revoulsion at such a thought, shaking his head slightly. "Do remember tha' yew be the one 'oo likes the ladies, eh?" He snorted. " 'alf the females 'round 'ere are.." He rolled his eyes and shook his head again. "Insufferable." He decided that would be a good word to use.

Asi was no stranger to thinking, hell that was one of the few things you could do by yourself. He realized that he too liked to watch water then he thought about things. But it just might have been coincadence that Amari was staring into the cool, refreshing pool of liquid.

One paw raised, then came down in the water again, up and down a few more times, gaze intent on the ripples, almost as if he was only half interested in the conversation and more interested on his own thoughts.

" 'ow've yeh been, eh?"

Kimaria
The grin further widened upon the young male's face at Asikari's comment about ladies, finding himself particularly amused by the way he regarded them. Oh yes he'd definately get himself a mate or two with that attitude. He laughed inwardly, shaking his head a little from side to side.

"Insufferable..." He repeated the word, mulling over it thoughtfully. "I haven't met a female like that yet, but then I suppose it depends on your point of view, there are many beauties around here I'd like to have an opportuinty to flirt with. Sadly Maawio would probably have something to say about that." He laughed again, the sound trailiing off as he backed up a little from Asi's paw which was splashing at the water, a shudder running down his spine.

"I've been fine I guess, just wondering how long I should stick around...or if I should even leave in the first place." He shrugged, eyes watching the ripples of the water.

"How bout you? Found any friends?"

Lethrossen
He snorted, stopping his ripple-making. "Friens'?" He repeated, smirking. "Come now, do'yeh think I be makin' friens?" He grinned a little, as if amused by this, but it was only half hearted. He shrugged a little. "I do guess Masuka do be considered a frien." He shrugged again.

He was about to say Ari, but shook his head at the thought. She wasn't so much a friend.. Things always turned into arguements with her, and it was mostly his fault. Not that he'd admit that. "Met some other lions as well, bu' they do no wan'a be friens with a grouch, eh?" He gave the half hearted grin again, shifting away from the water and laying down.

"Still with yer doll face, hmm?" He did mean Maawio, and from Amari's comment it was confirmed. He smirked. "The way yew be goin' on aboot 'er, yew bein controlled in a sense, why would I want me self a girl?"

Kimaria
Masuka...Masuka...he had heard that name before but where? He tilted his head, eyes fogging over as he delved into his memory, yes he had met one bearing that name but it had been a while back and he couldn't fit a face to the name. Shaking his head in a dismissive way he nodded and smiled.

"Well I'm sure there are lions that can put up with even someone as grouchy as you." He teased lightly, letting out a sigh of relief as Asi moved a little away from the water. "I learned to, which means there's still hope for yah." He shifted his weight onto the opposite paw and curled his tail around his hindquarters. Apart from Sukutu, Asikari was the only male that Amari put up with, finding himself aggressive and dominant around others, a side of himself he hadn't revealed in a long while.

At the nickname Asi had given Maawio his eyes regained their shine and he nodded entusiastically. "Controlled? Hmm I never really thought about it in that way." He shrugged, "but then being controlled by such a beauty isn't a bad thing, and even though this land is blessed with pretty femmes I think I have the best one." He sighed then, looking wistful as his thoughts turned to the golden lioness.

Lethrossen
He chuckled, finding real amuzement in the words. "The ones 'oo can put up with me can no for long." He didn't sound as proud as he once would have. Obviously something has gotten into his thoughts, made him realize he'd gone about his life all wrong.

He listened more, a yawn stretching his jaws. "Wha'ever gets ya to sleep at nigh'." He mumbled, shrugging. He guessed it wouldn't be so bad to have a female.. he wrinkled his nose a little at the thought, but he also thought it wasn't for him.

Water. After running around in the hot sun all day, so far, Rahima was on the search for a cool drink. Her tongue felt as dry as the dusty ground she walked on as she padded through the grasses. Looking up and watching a few birds flit along, she had to wonder how far she'd gone and what it must be like to fly so quickly about...

She was hopeless with diresctions sometimes, but fortunately, she was nearing a water source. But the sound of voices caused her to pause and cautiously slink towards it.

Kimaria
As Amari listened to his friend he realised that maybe what he had first thought was now untrue. The grouchy lion didn't seem as content as he used to be about being alone. Maybe he had realised how much he had been missing out on by steering clear from others and cutting himself from friends. Perhaps he himself was missing out on many things by refusing to converse with practically all other males. He shrugged to himself and lowered his gaze once more to the water.

"Yeah...but yah know even when I'm alone I don't actually feel so. When I travel I think of all the lions and lionesses that I have befriended and it helps...yah know? Thinking about them keeps me from feeling so alone, I carry them with me." He lowered himself further, lying his muzzle cradled in his front paws. "I remember a time when I was truly alone, a scraggly cub with no one in the world. I don't think I'd ever want to go back to that existance. So...I guess what I'm trying to say is that if yah ever need someone to talk to I'll be around." He huffed a little, not too good at expressing himself in such a way.

A part of him wondered why he had befriended Asikari, but at the same time he couldn't believe he had ever considered him a foe. They were more alike than they had first believed and that link alone was enough to keep their friendship atuned.

Lethrossen
He snorted, struggling to think os something 'asi-like' to say. He was sure he'd still be content with being alone.. if he'd never met anyone. Or befreinded, or however you wanted to call it. Or if somethings weren't so painstakingly obvious, and pointed out by others.

He pressed his paw, hard, into the dirt, then lifted up, studying the mark it left. "mm." He muttered, a little awkwardly. "Yah 'ell, guess It'll do me good ta remember tha', eh?" He finally said, deciding that was probably the safest answer. He was probably worse than Amari at expressing himself.

"When I think of all the lions I 'ave met I wanna puke." He smirked, trying to pull it off like it was some joke, but failing miserably. He huffed, tossing his head. "Well, no. Tha' do no be true." He finally admitted. His ear flicked, gaze wandering around, was it his imagination or had he heard the faintest sounds of approach?

Kimaria
At his honest reply to remembering friends he shifted his head to gaze across the water hole, taking note of the way the sun glistened upon it's surface. "Couldn't do you any harm to remember 'em."

"Some lions are a pain, I'll agree with you there. I ran into many I just wanted to tear apart...but eh...they are the ones you tend not to think about." He nodded firmly, tail waving from side to side lazily.

The his own rusty coloured ears flicked back, a growl threatening in his throat as he too caught on a sound of someone approaching. Someone was spying on them?! He perhaps wouldn't have been so bothered if he hadn't been talking about something so personal. "I'm thinking we're not alone any more." He said in a lowered voice, turning his head slowly to glance around them.

Successful Edit
Emerging from the best cover she could find by the water, Rahima's eyes glanced at them; recognising both she decided it was safe enough. Can never be too careful, when you're a rogue and alone. Ears back, she quickly lapped up a little water before either could comment.

Her thirst quenched, the crimson lioness straightened and turned, offering a small smile. If she was interrupting, she'd leave them to their conversation...

"Hello Asi, Amari."

Lethrossen
Asi's jaw clamped down, eyes finally spotting the crimson lioness, he frowned slightly, wondering how much she'd heard. When she gave greeting he rolled his eyes a little, he never even knew her name.

He sighed and nodded his head a little though, grudgingly. It was a greeting, if a dull one. His tail flicked, he could think of nothing to say.

Kimaria
He let out a hissing breath, forcing himself to relax once more and glad that he hadn't reacted anymore to her presence, feeling a little foolish of his defensive behaviour.

"Hey there Crimson." He murmered, not yet knowing of her newfound identity. With a swish of his tufted tail he got up once more, gazing across the water once more and lowering his head to drink. Perhaps the liquid would be enough to soothe his nerves. It troubled him that he could be this jumpy, especially when speaking with someone about more private things.

It was the same when he was spending time with Maawio, wanting nothing more than to spend time with her alone, and getting angry at any interruptions. He supposed it was something he'd have to get used to.

Successful Edit
For the second time since she'd come to this area; it still surprised her she hadn't 'moved on' much; she felt a twinge of hosilty. The first had been when she had met two light furred lionesses and been greeted with a low snarl. This time, it was seemingly apparent she'd barged in and neither were comfortable.

"Sorry if I interrupted anything - I just came for a drink." The idea of sharing her new name was squashed; perhaps it would be better if she turned to go, heading the way she came.

Kimaria
Realising that perhaps he had shaken her a little with his uncharacteristic hostility he put on a smile and loped towards her, a purr emanating from his throat in replace of the growl that had been there before, hazel eyes half lidded as he regaurded her.

"Not with my sister today then?" He asked kindly, turning to glance towards Asi. They could continue their talk later he supposed, time was never-ending here in this place, or so it seemed.

"Uhh sorry bout that by the way...weren't expecting company is all."

Successful Edit
"It's fine. I shouldn't be so paranoid, stalking through the grass unannounced..."

She turned to glance back apologetically at Asi, before retracing her pawprints once more. Trying for a smile, she turned back to the hazel-eyed lion. Ah yes; she'd forgotton Bakhti and Amari were - adopted? - siblings.

"No, I left her with Mahiri after a hunt, I thought they might like some alone time. I hear you found Maawio?"

Kimaria
"A predator needs to know the ways of stealth." Amari rationalised with a flick of his head, trying to get the mane from his eyes. The long strands were always tormenting him like that and he was assuming that things only got worse once he was fully matured.

"Alone time? Bahkti and...Mahiri?!" He couldn't hide his surprise at this new discovery. "They're....together?!" Okay so maybe he had said that a bit too loud. "Uhh...tell me more." He grinned cheerfully, this was good news for sure! His sister's heart had finally been able to mend from her last crushing blow. This could only prove to be a good thing.

"Oh and yes...I found her, fine and perfect as usual."

Successful Edit
"That's good to know" She nodded at the news of Maawio.

His surprised and the memory of how happy her friend had been caused Rahima's smile to become a grin. Flicking her tail as she went, she tried to recall what had happened.

"Well, they seemed to be. Bakhti was overjoyed, I think, she seemed so happy - and Mahiri struck me as a nice kind of male; we went hunting and walked around for a while. But I didn't want to intrude, so I left them."

The tiniest twinge of jealousy tinted her words, despite her best efforts. It wasn't that she envied Bakhti for having Mahiri's affection - it was the relationship itself. She'd had very few friends since cubhood, let alone someone she cared about so...

Kimaria
Amari was filled with the sudden desire to find his sister, get all the news and ask Mahiri if he intended to be loyal to her. He was still not too sure about that particular male, putting up with him only because he was a friend of Maawio's. He had a strange pelt indeed and his mind could not help but imagine white, brown and tan cubs running about all over the place. Quite adorable. He grinned back at the red lioness and nodded. "Sounds like they're getting on fine. I think I'll have to hunt down my dear sibling and ask her for all the details." He chuckled, "I won't leave her alone until she does."

If he noticed the slight jealous tone to her words he didn't show it, too lost in his happiness that his sister had finally found someone she could be with. If that Mahiri set a paw wrong however he would be on him with claws unsheathed. No one would hurt Bakhti, he'd make sure of it.

Successful Edit
"I'm sure she'd be happy to tell you everything."

Rahima couldn't banish the idea of finding herself her own mate quick enough. Silly, stupid...she was lucky enough to have met a few nice lions and made a friend of Bakhti. Nice as those daydreams were the hostility she'd suffered so often had left it's mark. As for Mahiri and Bakhti the best of luck to them.
