12.31.1999

One hour and fifteen minutes. They had one hour and fifteen minutes to find the capsule with only three definites.

The first was -

The second was -

And the last was every single person gathered at that one location, possibly one of the busiest locations in the human world, did not see the shadows. What they simply saw was the glowing countdown timer on the face of Times Square, what they saw was a world of brilliant lights and streamers and people shouting, laughing, dancing until they were drunk. What they say was a time for celebration, that in hopefully one hour and fifteen minutes later, their lives would count down to another century, of promise and significance.

For the few Hunters that remained, the screen was a glowing countdown to disaster. Numbers did not matter, it never had, but the fact that they were disabled, crippled, and most of all dying did. It was a countdown to what came first: the death of the world around them or their own inevitable end. None of them would go down without a fight.

What is 12.31.1999?

First of all, it is a date of a significant event that happened exactly twelve years ago. Second of all, it involves a story and a conclusion, and in the larger picture, unravels an important clue on what is happening currently in both Deus and Amityville.

Lastly, 12.31.1999 an open invitation for any rper interested to become invested themselves into the story of what happened. That means, anyone will have a chance to sign up and join, as a Hunter, and see for themselves exactly what happened on that day.

Why does this only involve Hunters?

There are a couple of reasons, the first that we wanted this to double as a contest for a few more Hunters. In addition, this will help open up some of the mystery of what exactly happens or what had happened int he Human World at that time, since up until now, most of the Human World has been a mystery. Lastly, and we will not lie, this creates interesting backstory for the Hunters, who's storyline and history have been somewhat obscured. Don't worry Amityville, you will get your turn to shine too!

I don't have a character, can I still join?

Yes! You will be playing as a disposeable Hunter character. That means, as much as you love this character you will be given, in the end, they will die.

How is this different from a meta/ regular event?

This is a stand-alone storyline, meaning we as gms could have just told the story between the main three Hunter NPCs, but we decided it would be much more interesting and exciting to extend the invitation to anyone who is interested to be involved on that day. It will be also our first experimental try in inviting people into a "closed" sort of storyline, where they are able to interact and immerse themselves into the environment, but in the end, meet the same sort of fate, without interfering with the happenings of any existing characters (therefore anyone with characters can still rp as normal).

Can I win anything from this event?

Yes, you will be able to potentially win several (present day) Hunter characters. Unfortunately any disposeable you make in this event will not be available to roleplay later on, but it will help set the mood for understanding a bit more about Deus side interactions, or so we hope. Even if you already have a Hunter, we highly encourage you to create a disposeable and roleplay, as it brings out future opportunities for your present-day characters (which I cannot reveal quite yet!) as well as create a sort of roleplay role model for other newer players.

Can you tell me more about this storyline?

That, you will have to figure out for yourself.
