The big red lion was hiding.
It was a ridiculous concept and he hated himself from it, but he wasn't ready to face that little stubborn female and hiding was the only way he could see to prevent such a meeting. Ever since she had declared these feelings of 'love' he had been in turmoil. He wasn't sure whether he was mad or whether she was. He just wanted her to go back to being nice friendly Miw-Sher who brought him food and chattered away to him. He'd pretend he didn't like her chatter but he quite liked the sound of her voice.
So he was skulking along by the water's edge, keeping to pridal borders so as to cut out the chances of running into anyone. His red pelt was covered in sand (part of his disguise) and as he sank onto his belly by the ocean's edge, he cast his thoughts out with the waves.
What would he do if she didn't let up these thoughts of love? Would he stay hidden forever? Should he leave? And where would he go to? He was lucky enough to have found this place of nomads. Would he be so lucky a second time around?
He growled low in his throat and set his head down against an outstretched forearm.

There was one thing for sure and that was that Miw was a little upset. That was one thing that was for sure. However there was something else for sure, and that she was worried about the large red lion. She wasn't sure where he had went for the last few days, however she nknew that he couldn't have gone far. When he got mad he normally didn't go that far. This time was a little different but she couldn't figure out where he could have gone. But she wasn't going to stay in her den and sulk. She never would have, she wans't one to do that.
She decided that today was a good day to go to the watering hole for a little bit and enjoy cooling oof. It was a litlte humid today. On the other hand there was something else that she was oging to be enjoying. She trotted her way, however she was really more of dashing from tree to tree. She liked to climb through trees, she always did and now that she was in this pride she could ejoy going through the trees a lot more often.
As she got closer to the watering hole she slowed down. She saw a figure that looked very familiar to her. some one that she knew, Rowtag was there... and covered in sand. She giggled a little and she carefully moved toward the closest tree to him, as she did she smirked and then held on to a branch, it looked thick enough and went down closer enough to the male. She held on before pouncing off of it and landing next to him, causing a bit of a splash. "Hey there silly! What are you doing?" She asked him curiously, starting at him giggling a little more.

He leapt onto his paws with a spray of sand and whipped around to face her, growling more in surprise than anger. The fur on his hackles stood up straight and then the surprise turned into an annoyed glare and he slammed a paw down on the ground. "Dammit, woman. Don't do that." He huffed loudly through his nose and then flattened his ears so they sank into the thick fur of his mane.
What was he doing!? What did she think he was doing!?
Perhaps thankfully, Rowtag wasn't much for sarcasm. Instead he clenched his jaw tight and narrowed his eyes even further. "What are you doing?" He snapped back angrily, pacing a little from side to side. "Leave me alone." He hadn't made up his mind yet and he wasn't even sure if he returned her feelings.
It would be wrong of him to love her back, wouldn't it? Besides, she couldn't really love him. She didn't even know him. If she did, then she'd most likely wish that they'd never even met.

This grump, this kind of grump that he was displaying kind of made her giggle a little. She couldn't help but to giggle, she thought it was a little amusing. There was another kind of grump that bothered her. That was the grump that she saw the other day, that was actually the kind of grump that bothered her and that she didn't want to see. It was manageable, actually she knew that being with this male was manageable. And really, even though he told her that she was mistaken, she knew on the other hand that she was not. She was in love with him, and she wasn't sure if he was in love with her but she didn't mind. She at least wanted to be with him and be his friend, because honestly that meant a lot to her.
She shook her self, some dirt and a few leaves coming loose off of her pelt as she did. She knew that her good mood wouldn't last that long especially after her 'entrance' he got an attitude once again. It wasn't as amusing anymore. "I was just coming to the watering hole." she told him, it was really true, however she wasn't sure if he was going to believe it.
"You need to stop being so grumpy." She sighed a little moving toward the watering hole, before then shaking her head. "I was worried, why would I leave you alone when I'm worried.

He grumbled. "You always worry."
Even still, the scowl on his face faded a little and he turned his eyes sideways, not wanting to look at her for too long. It was strangely hard to do so. "Stop worrying. I cam take care of myself."
Only sometimes, though...
He gave another low huff and began to move away. "I'll leave you to it then." He paused, partially turned his head and gave her a short nod. "Goodbye." And then he began to move off again, his pelt spotted with gold sand as he went.

If you asked Miw, he was being ridiculous at this point. She was starting to get really frustrated at this point. She really just wanted things to go back to normal. she was starting to wonder if maybe she was mistaken not because of the fact that she knew how she was feeling she loved him, but she was starting not to like the idea that he was now acting like this. She shook her head and moved closer to him, and then shook her head. "Row." She started before she watched him start to walk away in the opposite direction.
She grumbled and then started to trot, she was heading toward the male, running actually. She was going to cut him off. she didn't want him to walk away. she didn't want him to leave in general that was about it. She growled and then quickly moved so she was in front of him and not only in front of him however facing him. She growled once again and then looked at him and started to talk "Stop being such a baby, and stop trying to run away Row." She snarled to him shaking her head at him. She wasn't liking the fact that he was acting like that, she wanted him to stop.

He startled again as she nipped out in front of him and then squared off as if standing his ground against a mightier foe. His paws splayed wide as if to brace an incoming attack.
"I wouldn't need to run away if you didn't keep chasing me!" He snapped. "Go away or just...stay here and let me go away." He huffed loudly and narrowed his eyes at her. Why was she so stubborn? Where did such fire come from in such a small, cutesy lioness? He clicked his teeth shut and glared at her for a moment.
And then the memories came and he flinched at them, growling furiously in an attempt to scare them away. "Do you know what happened to the last female who loved me?!" He stamped a paw into the ground. It was a silly question really. Of course she wouldn't. His memories were so messed up he wasn't even sure he remembered fully himself. Even still it was a question that needed to be asked, whether there was an answer or not.

Miw wasn't sure what his problem was exactly. Well she kind of new but she didn't understand why he was reacting like this. It was making her more and more frustrated she didn't want this to be happening anymore. And really she wanted to smack him across the face again. But she knew how that went last time. She shook her head before flopping down in front of him.
"I'm not going to let you run anymore Row." She told him decisively. She wasn't going to let him run off once again. She looked at him then started to explain. "No, I don't Row I know nothing about your past and it's frustrating some times. You know about me but I don't know about you and I feel like some times it would make everything easier!" She huffed to him blowing her hair out of her eyes. "Tell me Row. I'm not going to hurt you and I'm not going to leave you. I'mnot going anywhere I love you and I can't seem to get that through your skull. What ever happened in your past doesn't matter."

Whatever happened in the past didn't matter? Wait. No. That couldn't be right. That didn't sound right at all. He gave an angry growl and began to pace back and forth, digging his claws into the ground so that he kicked up crumbs of earth as he went.
And when he explained, it was as messy and confused as he was.
"There was war and separation and a promise. A bad promise. I won't ever make that mistake again. Never." His eyes lashed up to her as if daring her to say otherwise. "And this promise...it lasted. It lasted. And then we were home again except I hated it. Hated it because they were weak but they had won and we were giving in. My mother--" No, he wouldn't talk about her. Or any of his family for that matter.
"I grew up there. Had promise. Got strong. Then there was Zii. She was there and she was my friend and then she was more and then she hated me. And she is you. Just like you." He growled. "And then the promise came back to bite me and I was forced to do it. I didn't want to but I did and people died and people got hurt and Zii's face broke and turned to hate. Their claws tore at me. Her claws tore at me. I was dead." He paused for breath.
"And then...I was not."

Miw looked at the male and listened to him carefully. She was a little surprised at his paws, but yet at the same time it didn't really fully process to her. It didn't process fully at all, she understood and heard what he was saying but then again to a point it didn't make perfect sense. She didn't mind though. She listened but she didn't process to greatly because of the fact that she wanted to just spend time with him, she wanted to be happy with him again and she wanted to not exactly act like it didn't happen but at the same time to a point he did. Only because of the fact that he wanted to spend time with him, not worrying about anything else.
She flicked her hair out of her eyes before starting to to talk to him. He finished what she was saying and then she knew it was her time to talk and she shook her head and looked him in the eye. "You see I don't care about your past Rowtag, it isn't who you are now." She told him simply, "To me anyway, you are Rowtag. Row, you're the guy I've been with for the last couple of months. You're great and I don't care about what you once did. I like you for now." She told him simply with a nod.

She was infuriating.
Why wouldn't she hate him?! He deserved to be hated. More than deserved it, and yet she was looking at him with those large, gentle eyes and not caring in the slightest.
Had he not told the story right? Probably not...but it was bad, wasn't it? Maybe it was worse in his head than in his words? He wasn't sure but he was losing patience again. His eyes snapped to hers, albeit briefly. "Then you are an idiot."
And then, with a snarl he added. "I'm not leaving." His voice was low. "But I'm not...I'm not..." He shook his head. "I will hurt you if you get too close. I am...willing to be a friend, but there will be another male who can fulfil the position of 'love'." And he turned again to stomp away, his tail thrashing. Perhaps he wasn't in love with her yet, but she was breaking through his defences, slowly but surely.
Right now she was a puzzle and he couldn't figure her out.
