Kessling stood out in the field and watched the stars. There was something so far away and open about them. She wondered if all azrein eventually wondered about the stars. She walked a little farther out and lay down to further appreciate this quiet moment. She had many of them as she didn't know many others. She had been abandoned as a foal and had lived on her own for a long long time. This had soured her to the company of humans. She did hope to improve her relationships with azrein though.

Kelyan sensed something different in the surrounding area as he was out on his nightly run. Of course it wasn't his area per say, but he liked to think of it as. All the time he had stayed in the same place, he hadn't seen many Azrein around which made this sudden appearance very worrisome. Following his nose, he found himself led to an open field in which he often frequented and though he looked all across, he couldn't find the source of the disturbance. It wasn't until he squinted his eyes that he noticed something darker among the grass. He watched the Azrein for awhile until it laid down and started looking at the stars. Sighing quietly he approached the whoever was laying down. "The stars are very peaceful, are they not?" He inquired. He often found himself star gazing, it made him feel a little less alone in the world.

"Yes they are", Kessling replied without thinking. "So quiet and far away." "Wait who are you?" she asked while she rose to her hooves. She was slightly uncomfortable with unknown stallions who stood while she was on the ground. She turned to look at the newcomer, expecting to see a dull brown stallion with a dark mane perhaps, or a gray. But no! He was BLUE! She blinked. "Are you blue?" she tilted her head to the side. She hadn't even seen a blue azrein before. It made her excited in such and odd way. Well she guessed it was more delight then anything. She had always liked the unusual, course one who looked as she did couldn't afford not too.

Kelyan didn't feel direct hostility from the azrein, a mare he knew now, so he felt encouraged to continue. "My name is Kelyan, miss, and who might you be?" He asked politely. Sure she seemed a little skiddish, but he continued anyway. "I-I am blue..." Feeling a little self conscience, he looked away, "Though you're interesting looking yourself." He said it in a kind tone hoping she would know he was being nice and not insulting her.

"That is fascinating. You are quite beautiful Kelyan. My name is Kessling Alezandreda." She was a little self conscious about her own looks but he seemed not to mind them. Her old humans had beaten and insulted her because of her looks. But the vampires in the forest seemed to look at her as any other mare. "Uh thank you." she said. "So what brings you here?" she asked. Had he come to watch the stars too?

"Well thank you, as well. And to your question, I reside in an area near here, not permanently of course. I normally take a run at night to make sure there are no...passer-bys so I may sleep soundly. It was then that I smelled a curious scent, which I now conclude was you. Which is by no means anything bad." He said hastily, it was somewhat comforting to be around another azrein. "The run also serves other purposes," he added, "it helps me relax while I run under the vast sky. I get a sense of peace I don't really find elsewhere."

"Yes, I love looking at it. Before I would hardly ever come out of my forest but I have fallen in love with the sky and all she holds. So perhaps I will have to face my fears and venture further into the unknown." She looked down at the ground, draped in shadows, it was hard to tell that the grass was so green, but at least the sun was not burning her eyes. After so long in the dark her red eyes were sensitive to bright light. Which was another reason to like this stallion. He was dark blue. A mellow color, not like orange with was in her opinion quite obnoxious.
"Kelyan? Which patch of stars is your favorite? I like the one that looks like a soaring dragon."

"Venturing into the unknown is terrible and wonderful all at once." He stated because he too was trying to face his fears. Kelyan looked to the sky, trying to figure out how to answer her question. "I don't know if I could choose a favorite. Hmmm..." He paused to think. "I like that patch right over there, the one that kind of looks like a flower." Suddenly, he felt embarrassed. No normal stallion would say something like that.

"Flowers are admirable. Such quiet beauty and no rage. It would be fulfilling to be a flower I think. To worship the sun and the rain. And leave it up to others to wonder about the stars. Oh I'm sorry, I do ramble sometimes evidentally."

"Oh no! You're fine. I like hearing you talk!" Suddenly embarrassed that he had said what he was thinking, Kel looked once more to the stars. "I don't think I would like to be a flower. Sure it would be peaceful and without all the problems of our every day life, but you wouldn't know what it was like to run through an open field, see a beautiful sunset reflect on an ocean or any of the other beautiful things out there. But...thats just me." He concluded with a sigh.

"And you won't get stepped on so much as an azrein. Or nibbled on. Perhaps it is best to be Azrein and not plant. Some of the coat colors I've seen look like they are blooming all the time." She crossed her eyes at him. "Bright pink and orange, I mean really! Who mated to produce that?" She grinned at him.
