I'm a pretty spiritual person myself, or at least I try to be. I'd like to know where you guys stand, as Christians, on astral projection. Is it normal? Is it a sin? Is it considered witchcraft? Why? Does God allow us to astral project? Etc.
For those of you that don't know what Astral Projection is, its the ability to project your consciousness anywhere in the world at any time.
God bless.

"Astral Projection. Is it Taught in the Bible? Some people have claimed that there is Biblical justification for the occultic practice of Astral Projection, sometimes also called Soul Travel. This practice involves the soul, or the spirit of a person leaving their physical body, and being able to travel invisibly. But are the Biblical texts that proponents of this view point to really teaching this practice? 'I know a man in Christ fourteen years before--whether in the body, I do not know, or out of the body, I do not know, God knows--such a one was caught up to the third Heaven. And I know such a man--whether in the body or out of the body, I do not know; God knows--that he was caught up into Paradise and heard unspeakable words which a man is not permitted to speak.' (2 Cor. 12:2-4). 'And at once I became in spirit. And, behold, a throne was set in Heaven, and One sitting on the throne.' (Rev. 4:2). 'And he carried me in spirit onto a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, holy Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God,...' (Rev. 21:10). One of the main differences between the above Biblical texts and occultic astral projection is that when God's people were caught up in the Spirit, it was God who prompted it, whereas in occultic astral travel, it is often the practitioner who is 'seeking' after the experience. This can be illustrated when one considers the vast amount of literature, and ‘how to’ books on the subject. Those in the Bible who had experiences which some interpret as being astral travel were not seeking the experience. Those who practice astral travel do just that - 'practice' it, seek after it, and are taught it from a book or a course." Anything practiced is Witchcraft. In these modern times, Witchcraft has been hidden and muffled to thwart the victim and ensnare the person in the Devil's clutches for the sole purpose of turning the person away from God."Another difference between the two is that one is controlled by the Holy Spirit while the other is controlled by spirits that are not of God, or demons. I think, from a Christian perspective, an experience out of the body which is not controlled by the Holy Spirit has the potential to be dangerous, like any spiritual experience outside of God's direction. In such a condition, there is nothing stopping evil spirits coming in to invade that person". When you leave your body, demons can enter and possess your souless body. When your body is already occupied by other spirits, your soul is simply hanging abandoned in the air with no body to return to."Also, the company that modern astral projection keeps gives cause for Christians to be concerned. For example, a recent book I bought, on Witchcraft (for research purposes), teaches astral projection, as do many other occult books. It is also practiced by those in the New Age. In the vast majority of cases, astral projection is offered right next to many other occultic practices. Christians would therefore have cause for concern." So yes, astral projection is a sin and against the Lord. If you have been practicing it, it would be wise to ask for forgiveness, and you shall be forgiven and made perfect in the sight of the Lord again.Quoted essay from http://www.spotlightministries.org.uk/astraltravel.htm The words in black do not belong to me but to the author of the website. The words in red are mine added in to the context.

My Grandma used to do that before she became saved in fact it is the reason she came to Christ because she watched the exorcist when it first came out and a few days later did the astral projection and when she was returning to her body found many demonic beings around her body trying to get in and the next day she went to my moms Christian neighbor and got saved. so I don't think Astral projection is a good thing to do because it invites demons into your house and leaves your body vulnerable.

Though I don't believe that astral projection is the projection of the soul, I believe its your consciousness that leaves the body but the soul always remains in the body. Also, studying astral projection (i researched a lot about it), it says that nothing can posses your body unless you allow it to. If you also read about it more, you will find out that (supposedly) everyone astral projects when they sleep at night, they just do it unconsciously.

That is true about people accidently doing it in their sleep I remember one time when I was young I was floating above myself and one of my parents walking in to give me medicine since I was sick at that time but it is just not accidently done for my Grandma used to make her self do it and was able to do it on purpose.
