In which Bataar is unnecessarily victimized because he is such a sex bomb.

Bataar sputtered in disbelief as the accusations started to fly from Sara's mouth. She was right-- this wasn't love, this was hate. The Mongol stared at the soul conduit, looking and feeling as if he'd really just been betrayed. Did she seriously think he'd sleep with Van of all people? The woman haunted his nightmares. He knew what was beneath those lavender panties and it was more of a horror story than he could properly describe! Nightmares aside, everything else that Sara was saying was too cruel, even given the situation that she'd somehow made up in her head. This was not cruelty to be kind, either. This was just plain mean.

Whatever the case, her words were enough to sober the man up very quickly. "So that's really what you think?" he asked, his voice dripping with the sort of venom that only the wounded can ever truly muster to their advantage. "Well you, Sarangerel, are a b***h." he hissed, and his words were final. He was shaking with anger, but it was the white sort-- the sort that made everything clear, and gave one's vision a shocking sort of edge and clarity.

The captain caught the woman's fist with ease, and twisted it cruelly, biting down on his lip as he dealt a blow that he knew would be impossibly painful for someone as unused to physical combat as Sara. He had never, perhaps in all of his life, been so angry as he was right now, and he didn't know why.

At this point, though, he was in agreement with a physical brawl. He wanted to hurt the soul conduit, to give her back some of what he supposed himself to be experiencing. So she hated him. So what? Bataar was perfectly capable of reciprocating that sort of feeling, even if fighting Sara went against whatever scraps of his moral code that still existed. The line had most certainly been crossed, and Bat was going to make that perfectly clear.

Besides, Sara was friends with Van, and they were both Legionnaires. The two of them were not to be trusted.

Sara felt herself get pushed back, Bataar had never hit her before and for a moment she was silent. Her pale eyes almost seemed to glow and the dark uneasy feeling in the room was being made worse by her anger, it was almost unsettling the spiritual aura which was circling them. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth, so that was it? There was no going back from this then? She did not know if she truly thought he would sleep with Van, but she was sure if she was found in the same situation with Huang he would have blown a casket. Besides he did not even seem to think the idea with her sleeping with someone bothered her. If he was so determined to think she loved him, then that thought might have gone through his mind. But no, he was not thinking, as usual.

She just wanted it to be simple, yet everything always got so complicated. "I'm a b***h, huh?" She asked looking to the side, she smirked at the fact he was finally being truthful with her. She would not have been so angry, if he had not insulted her so much a moment ago. She could not live with him knowing that he could turn around and use that line whenever he wanted, it pulled at her heartstrings. That was a moment of weakness on her behalf, she let him in and now he was toying with her.

She should not have said anything, clearly everything was ruined. So maybe it was less painful to end it all now.

"Well Bataar, if you can not find anyone else to do it, you can go ******** yourself for all I care." She growled, staring at the Captain under long locks of dark hair. She did not why he was so mad, that now of all times the things she said hurt him. She was so used to him shrugging off most things that she said. She would not let him scare her though, she would rather be beaten bloody. It served her right for falling for -another- noble. She just could not cope with all this anymore.

The conduit grabbed the nearest thing to her, which just happened to be one of Van's vases, and launched it at his head.

It was true that Bataar was honestly appalled at some of the things that he was saying and doing, but that could not halt him at this point. Sara had strained his heart and damaged his ego enough that he hardly felt above anything at this point. This was more than the dirty style of fighting that he always commenced with Van-- this was one of the nastiest things he'd ever had to deal with. He didn't quite know what he ought to do, especially after having twisted Sara's wrist. This was getting too serious much too quickly for his tastes.

He could tell, however, that what he had said had left its mark. Well, that was one point for him, because he fully believed that Sarangerel had deserved that one. Bat couldn't tell how she felt about him anymore, in any case. He would never have screamed all of those insults in front of someone he cared about, or so he told himself. The captain believed that, in combination, it had all been too much for him to properly stand. His rage was rightful as far as he could see, even if he was a little shortsighted.

The Mongol narrowed his eyes at Sara's next insult, and took a moment to snarl before forming a retort. "Well, according to you, I can just get Van to do that for me," he pointed out, shielding his head with his bare arms and grunting in pain as the shards penetrated the skin of his forearms, causing blood to shower down upon the clean, polished floor of the ger. There were only one or two shards of the vase that had penetrated deep enough into his skin to be of concern, but for now he was fighting. None of the injuries mattered-- not yet, at least.

He walked, almost slowly, in the direction of Sara, whipping one of his arms and watching, with a look of satisfaction, as the substance stained her clothing. She would remember this when she had to wash it out later, which was a concept that the Mongol was very satisfied with. "It's nice to know that you're so sincere," he spat.

As stupid as it seemed, Sara did not actually mean to hurt him. She just wanted to shut him up, hit him over the head with a pan like she did the other day. When she saw blood she felt her stomach turn, but before she could say she was sorry he started up again, it was almost as if he was systematically trying to break her down. Her eyes feel to the floor as he brought Van back into it, she did not want to think about that. She did not want to think of him doing those things with Van, it was just too strange. In truth at the moment Sara felt more ill than angry.

She stepped back as he came towards her, until she was close to whatever wall was nearest, she felt herself against it. Somewhat trapped, and she felt the blood as it touched her skin. Whatever need she had to say sorry soon vanished, as he questioned her sincerity. She meant it, she still meant it, she meant it so much that this reaction had come out of her. Pale eyes looked into his. "Believe what you want, you always do anyway." She had used that line before, but she had never really meant it until now. He could think what he wanted of her, she had been nothing but honest with him.

"Besides, I do not think Van is stupid enough to make the same mistake twice." She stated, she did not budge, even now he was not scared of him. She said she would never be scared of him and despite what he thought she did not lie. Instead she raised her knee quite sharply as if to get him in a somewhat sensitive area, it nothing else it might get him to back off a little.

Bataar almost felt sorry for Sara for a moment, until she started to speak again. He gritted his teeth and offered the soul conduit a venomous glare, almost feeling the need to sputter in disbelief. That was perhaps the most hypocritical thing he'd heard all day! "Oh, yes, and you'll go on believing that I'm sleeping with Van," the man snarled, looking supremely frustrated. She might accuse him of being thickheaded, of believing in things that were quite possibly lies, but she was being just as terrible as far as the Mongol was concerned.

Before he could respond to her next comment, he was keenly aware that he had been kneed and suddenly Sara's insults were not the only things below the belt. The man gasped in pain, wasting no time in slapping Sara hard across the cheek, or attempting to do so. "Don't worry. I wasn't dumb enough to make that mistake even once," he hissed, backing away from the soul conduit who was, as far as Bat was concerned, a vicious b***h at this point in time. She was actually injuring him, and because of what? Because of something that wasn't even true! It was almost too painful to reflect on, in the Mongol's opinion.

This was it. Bataar was just going to give up on relationships entirely. Clearly, they weren't worth the pain, nor the effort. Sara had made it clear enough that she absolutely hated him, and he was going to take this grudge with him if she refused to see that he was right, not her! Throughout all of this, the Mongol had failed to notice that his arms were bleeding a little too much. That would surely lead to his demise.

In any case, it didn't matter right now. Right now he was just taking time to marvel at how awful all of this was, and only because he'd gone to sleep in a bed that he'd assumed was still his. Bat really didn't know what he ought to do this morning, or what he'd actually done wrong to deserve any of this.

For the first time in a very long time, Van was scared. Not necessarily of either of the Lunarians fighting in front of her, but scared for the outcome of the fight. (And a bit scared for her house, but that was collateral damage). She had stepped forward when Bataar twisted the soul conduit’s arm in a rage, but was stopped by Sara when she took up a prized vase and threw it. Suppressing a yelp at the loss of such an expensive item, she was happy to see that it had been used well in the effort of beating down the captain she so hated.

“In your dreams,” she’d scoffed when Bataar had asserted she’d readily sleep with him. Little did she know that his dreams were rather different from what she was implying. They were talking about her as if she was one of Sara’s ghosts—silent and invisible—and the fighter wasn’t sure she enjoyed that.

But she did enjoy the kick to the jewels Sara pulled now. The soul conduit was fighting more like a Van as each blow progressed. Van's eyes were wide open, not missing a single movement between the two of them. Was this really a lovers' spat? It seemed too cruel for that.

Sara felt her body tighten as he hit her, she looked to the side, not saying anything, not even moving for the most part. She could feel the redness in her face as blood rushed to her cheek but she did nothing to check its condition. Maybe in the morning she would have a lovely black eye to match her scars, then she would have both Bataar and Cais painted across her face. She looked to the floor and then over at the Captain. "Ffft. Why should I even care? Sleep with, or do not sleep with, whoever you want. Its none of my business." She rolled her eyed before they fixed on him and the amazing amount of blood he was losing.

The conduit stepped forward a little, not moving too close incase he did not want her there. Afterall he might think it another attack. She folded her arms and pouted, looking at the cuts. "You know, you are going to bleed to death." She stated, in a very matter attack tone, swiftly coming to the conclusion she would rather have him in other girls beds than in a grave. If today had taught her nothing, it was the fact that she could not really cope with the idea of him being with other girls. He did not care for her in that way, fine. However that did not mean she would accept it and pretend to be happy if he ever felt that way for someone else.

She sighed, resting her hand on her hip and looking to the side once more. "I can look at that for you, you know. If you like living." She stated with a small smirk on her face, the argument was not stupid, but it was not worth messing up such a wonderful wooden floor. Besides, what would his team think if they found out a girl took him down?

This was exactly why he was so pissed off right now. She acted like she didn't care, but clearly Sara was absolutely fixated upon the idea that he'd slept with Van, which he knew quite well that he had not done. It was this that made him want to beat some sense into the soul conduit because he was well aware that she'd probably be hurt more by that simple yet horrific concept far more than she'd be injured by a few bruises delivered here and there by yours truly.

He was tired of it, and could feel his strength draining even as he attempted to preserve his anger to the best of his abilities. And oh, by the way, he was going to bleed to death. Bat stepped away from Sara stubbornly, regarding her with the eyes of a wounded animal, making sure that while he was still conscious she would not be looking at any of those cuts. They probably wouldn't kill him, anyway. They were enough to make him pass out, and to keep him down for a day or two, but death did not seem to be an option here. Besides, he might as well be a martyr here and now, because he was not going to tolerate this lack of belief in his morality.

Bat ground his teeth together and shook his head, feeling the first waves of vertigo begin to take effect. "I didn't sleep with your stupid friend," the man spat, venom in his tone. There was no feeling quite as frustrating as being aware that he was in the right, but being unable to make anyone else let belief take hold of them. He didn't deserve scorn or anger for something he hadn't done, after all. "And if you think I did, you don't know me and I'd rather not know you."

Here it was: the moment of truth.

Sara looked on at him for a moment, knowing this was not really the time to argue anymore. She had some pretty solid things to throw at him, she could have easily gone on to ask how he ended up in such a position. Though instead of focusing at that she just sighed, feeling the air leaving her lungs and the will to fight slipping away. As stated before, she would rather not have him dead and she still found herself worrying about him more than she really should. She might find herself wanting to strangle the Mongol at times, but she still felt protective over him and she did not like it when he was hurt. In truth, she felt bad for it and maybe that was why she was willing to submit now.

"Okay." She stated quite simply, like that one word would resolve everything that happened. Was it too much to hope that it would? She stepped forward again, moving towards him. She had proven that she could match his stubbornness, the conduit refused to leave him be until she took a real look at that wound on his arm.Maybe if she was persistent he would finally give in, even it was just because he did not have the energy to push her away. "I was just angry okay, even I get like that way sometimes. If you say you did not sleep with Van, then I believe you." She stated, stopping herself from finishing the sentence how she wanted to. She had leaned that sometimes it was just better to keep her mouth shut, especially in the company of others. Poor Van must have been so confused right now.

It just did not seem that way, and I doubted you. I shouldn't have, you did nothing wrong... It's me. I am still trying to adjust, maybe if I could blame you for that, then it would make things a little less painful. Then I would have a reason to not want you to feel anything for me and we could go back to how we used to be, before I messed it all up.

She tilted her head to the side and held out her hand, as if to ask if she could look. A somewhat innocent look to her face, she could see he was going pale."Besides, you would not give up knowing me for anything." She stated with a small smirk, as if she was trying to lighten the mood.

Bataar knew that he was in the right and, although he could see how the circumstances may have seemed, he was going to stick with his truth. That was, he felt, the best course of action he could possibly take. He couldn't tell by now whether or not Sara actually believed him but it appeared that she wanted to make some sort of a truce with the man, even if it was to save him from getting too terribly ill as a result of blood loss. He stared at her, his green eyes grudging-- still those of a wounded animal --before sighing, his entire body going limp for a moment or two as he tried to come to terms with all that he'd just done.

He walked slowly to Sarangerel, regarding her with twisted lips for a moment before lowering his head, finally giving up. He took the girl's wrist in his own bloody hands, and examined it for a moment, looking relieved that there didn't seem to be any swelling. "You should know better," he muttered unhappily, knowing that for the next few days he'd probably be wrestling with his guilt more than he probably ought to be.

His temporary insanity, though, was something that he would later view as a necessity in this case. It would clear up a few things, at the very least, for him mentally. It would allow Bat to interpret his emotions far better than he usually would have, which was a treasure to have.

For now, though, the man was not going to be on his feet for much longer. He felt his knees give out from under him before anything else, and was out cold before he even hit the floor, some of his cuts still flowing freely with blood. This was probably the best thing that could have happened to the man, especially considering the confused wreck that he'd been so far this morning. It would help him to leave deep thoughts for some other, more appropriate time.

Sara remained silent for a moment, though thankfully he seemed to be coming around. When he reached out to grab her wrist she flinched, it was sore but not broken, she knew that much. She looked at him almost apologetically, afterall she could tell by his eyes he was concerned. It was her fault all this had started, she wanted to tell him that, even if it was just to change that look on his face. She did not want to make him feel bad, she looked to the side, wishing she had better control over that temper of hers. Why was it that only he seemed to provoke such reactions from her? It really was driving her insane.

She had really messed up this time, before anything else could be said the Captain collapsed, the conduit held out her arms as if to buffer his fall. She did not want him to land too hard. She looked at him, clearly she was lost in thought. She should have known better, but the truth was she really did not know that much about him and his other life. He kept so many things secret from her, she understood why but at the same time it felt like that alone had put a wall up between them. One she would have to break if she was ever to get closer to him.

She sighed and rested her hands on him, pale eyes closed as she let her energy flow into him. After a moment she looked over at Van, bitting her lip a little. "Please take care of him, he might be an idiot but." She stopped, not really knowing how to finish that sentence but with any luck the raven haired girl would understand. She then looked over at where the vase had smashed, knowing she owed Van for this one...

A lot more than a furnishing, it was time to come clean. Right after she had made sure Bataar was going to be okay.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 31, 2011 6:40 pm

The fight had shifted. Van blinked for the first time in a few minutes, her eyes painfully dry from watching the drama that was unfolding in front of her intently. Had she really been the subject of a fight between her mortal enemy and her best friend, both of whom were acting like... well, spurned lovers?

Oops. Well, this was awkward. Perhaps she should look away now. Her mind was still reeling from the idea that these two polar opposites could be attracted to each other. But first, there was one thing she had to say while the captain was still conscious. "You're cleaning up my floor, Bat."

And when Sara made her request, she could slowly feel the last ebbs of her sanity disappear, exploding into nothing. "WHAT?"
