Story Thingy

"Ever little girl has had a crush for a very much older man. Always innocent, and never returned, just the way it should be. I was no exception to this, but as we grow older we throw away childish things like that. Though never in my wildest dreams could I think of the story that I'm living through, but what he doesn't know is that I knew him. The 'original', the inspiration of a dream. Its time for me to tell this story from the beginning. These are my memories, and they are precious to me. Though they hold someone that is precious to someone else. So I need to share this, I need to share my feelings. So maybe even in the end I'll understand everything better."

It all started several years ago in a fairly decent sized town. Everything was peaceful, and would be peaceful for years to come. It mostly begins with a young man who was starting his first day at a law firm in the town. He moved away from home, trying to get into law school. Only 24 years old and already his life was seeming boring. It was only his first day on the job, but all they had him do was fill out paper work, sort things, get things for others. Basically the most excitement her would get, would be getting a paper cut. When lunch finally came around he made his way to a table where no one was sitting.

"So you must be the new guy....Ian right." The white haired man looked up from his lunch to see a man around his own age standing next to the table.

"That's right..."

"Name's Kojo, I'm the last new guy. Its nice to meet you." With that brown haired man held out his hand to shake his new co-workers hand. Then with out an instantiation he sat down on the opposite side and began to eat his lunch. "So what brings you out to this town to work. I can tell already you're not from here."

"I'm trying to get into law school, so this is at least some experience to get in before hand....though how can you tell I'm not from here."

"Your like me, I moved here with my younger sister a year or so ago. The town we lived in didn't really offer any good jobs. I was offered a job here not long after we moved here so I took it." That was how their lunch went, back and forth the two got to know each other and before the week was over the two had quickly become friends.

"So what's for lunch today." Kojo asked a few days later as he sat down for lunch.

"Eh, just some left overs from last night. Nothing really special." Ian wasn't a great cook, but his meals were edible. Since it was just him he usually cook enough dinner so he could have the left overs the next day at lunch. "What do you have?"

"Eh the same, only I think mine's not going to come back to murder me." Snickering slightly in a mostly childish manner. Ian choose to ignore the other man and continue to eat his lunch.

"So are you going to go to the bar with everyone else tonight?" The white haired male asked his friend as he finished his lunch. He had been invited, but it was mostly because everyone else at the office was also going. He wasn't really a drinker, and he didn't really want to go socialize with anyone either.

"Nah, I have to look after my sister. Its sad when its more entertaining to watch over a six year old then go to a bar with a bunch of boring people. Mostly everyone gets wasted and tries to pick up the chicks. Its funny to watch then you realize you call some of them you friends."

The two of them laughed for a moment. More from the fact of truth then the anything else. It was conversations like this that they shared for the past several day since their meeting.

"Its no party, but if you'd like to join you are more then welcome. For a six year old my sister doesn't socialize much, not even with me. So I usually end up just watching tv while she just sits and draws or plays by herself."

"Is that normal for a little girl." Ian had a little brother, but weren't little girls suppose to be all smiles and happiness. It was seems odd to him, then again he wasn't an expert on this sort of thing.

"I doubt it, but it really isn't like she's bothering anyone. I figure she'll come out if she's around people more. I mean she's only in first grade."

"Well once she gets older I'm sure you will have your hands full." They both laughed as they had both been teenagers not that long ago. Still they understood how time could fly.

"Oh I don't look forward to the day she gets her first real boyfriend. I'll have to do everything in my power not to kill the kid."

"I almost feel bad for him, he won't even have a chance will he." Ian laughed again as did Kojo. It was a comfortable conversation as all the lunch conversations where. "So what time do I need to bring for dinner."

"Ah nothing, me and Tsukiko will get it covered. She always likes helping out in the kitchen before going outside to play. This time of year it really is just warm enough. I bought her a fairy costume for Halloween and I have to fight her to get it off. Don't worry though, she doesn't like throwing glitter or anything around....actually she only plays it outside."

The little girl did sound slightly strange, but she was a child. Ian hadn't met this little girl yet, but she was just that a little girl.

The day continued, and soon enough the day was over. Packing his briefcase Ian excited the office and went outside. He started one his way home, looking somewhat forward to hanging out with his new friend.

Ian went home and it was a little after 6pm when he finally reach the house the poorly drawn map had lead him to. Sighing slightly he wore a casual blue shirt with a pair of black jeans. He was sure both him and Kojo would rather go out with some nice ladies, but he was the new kid, and it was his only first week.

Walking to the door he knocked and waited shoving hi hands in his pockets. It was only seconds later when Kojo answered the door. He was wearing a green shirt with with plain blue jeans.

"Ian!, See I told you you could find the place."

"Yeah with not help from you're stupid map, remind me to never take directions from you." The both laughed and Kojo welcomed him into the small house. There was a living room with a stair case, in the back was a kitchen with a dinning table.

"So yeah pizza's almost ready I'm about to put the second one on, then go get Tsukiko inside and we can eat. This new movie came out, you know that one we talked about yesterday. Tsukiko won't watch it she'll color or something. Then when she goes to bed we can do whatever."

"Quite the father figure aren't you?" Ian said as he looked at the pictures hanging on the wall. Kojo was still talking and working on whatever he was cooking. "So where is you're sister, I hope I'm not scaring her or something."

"Nah she doesn't even know you're coming yet. She's currently outside playing, I told you she loves playing fairy when she can. I'm going to feel bad when summer is over and she can't play outside anymore." Kojo shrugged and didn't bother to turn around. Only looking out the window in front of him.

There a little girl sat on she ground playing with a wand in her hand. All dressed up with little wings and everything.

"So is there anything I can do to help?" Ian asked he stood with his hands still in his pockets.

"Could you go get Tsukiko for me. She does better when people enter 'her world'...At least that's what the doctor's told me."

"Doctors?" Ian raised an eyebrow as he looked at Kojo. Was there something wrong with this little girl. Seeing the look on Ian's face Kojo quickly gave a nervous laugh.

"I take her to see a psychologist about once a month. Our mother passed away when she was three, and our father left her basically to die. I was old enough to take her in. She's getting older though, starting to ask questions...."

"I wish I could take care of my brother as well as you take care of her."

Kojo snapped out of his thoughts and put on his easy going smile. "It wasn't easy as first. Had to much help in the beginning. It confused her, she didn't understand. I think she still doesn't at times, but she's more mature then I am. Never does she show it."

That was enough for him to hear. Walking out the door he slowly walked up to the little girl who sat on the ground willing flowers to grow for her with a toy wand. She looked up at him then to the window where her brother was. Seeing that this man was okay she looked back at him.

"Hello miss fairy princess, I was hoping I could ask is you can grant me a wish." He asked her with a charming smile that easily charmed the little girl.

"What kind of wish do you want me to grant." His smile brightened when the little girl spoke. Happy to see she wasn't a sad and depressed as he feared.

"Well I wish for us to be friends. My name is Ian, and I've never met a real fairy before. I want to be your friend."

The little girl thought about this for a moment and took some glitter that she held in a bottle in a bag. Taking some out she blew it at the ground. Looking up at him with a grand smile. She spoke again.

"Your wish has been granted Mr. Ian." This little girl was full of sunshine and flowers. Or in her case glitter and sparkles. Holding out his hand she just looked up at him with wide eyes.

"There is one thing I remember about that man. He made me happy, like an older brother type way....Well he though of me as a little sister, I saw it in a whole different light. I was naive, but I knew better. I always told myself he was my friend because he really was."

"That day he held his arm out for me though...it had just started raining and he had this smile. I just looked up him, I didn't understand. I had friends, but this man was treating me like my brother did. 'Why is he so nice to me?' I asked myself over and over."

"He knew I was strange for a little kid, and sometimes he treated me much older then I was. He didn't know I was a witch though...and I barely knew at the time myself....sometimes I fear, he was just a victim of a lonely little girl."
