The youma was weakening. Crux smirked. She'd had nothing but rather embarrassing encounters with youma recently. Crux hadn't lost, after all she was still alive. But she had been saved a great deal more than she liked. Not that there was anything wrong with being saved, after all, she was still alive (something Aithne had been repeating to herself a lot recently). But it burned. What was previously known as her ego had practically smouldered away. It stung. She valued her independence, had been proud of it, but... Crux was reliant on others.

She'd pretty much figured out the confines and restraints of her abilities. They weren't offensive abilities, but it didn't matter because the youma was weakening and Crux would be able to finish it off. All by herself. Without any help. Her smirk widened. It felt good to be in control.

Unlike Crux, Aeolia had been doing alright in regards to fighting youma. They came in rather peculiar shapes, he quickly realized, but the fledgling knight was quickly learning that he had to adapt to each individual creature’s weakness and abilities. Flexibility was key—and although personality-wise he was a rather stubborn person—when it came to combat he could pick it up easily enough. As long as he had enough practice and experience he figured he would be able to dust most types of youma on his own given the time and right resources. He frowned, rolling his wrists. The bones cracked loudly. Punching and kicking had become his main source for inflicting damage, and sometimes (a lot of times) it damn hurt.

Well, it didn’t hurt too bad when Aeolia jumped in and finished off the crumbling youma with a punch. Had he known that Crux wanted to smite it herself, he would have held back, but how the hell was he supposed to know? She appeared to be nothing more than a dark figure in the night and really, it was just a youma. Most senshi or knights probably would have not minded it too much and just skip to quick introductions.

He stared at Crux. B|?

She was close, so very, very close... Until a tan blur crashed down and finished it off. Beneath his fist, the youma disappeared. Surrounded by the dust the figure stood up. She stood staring in disbelief. He had a tan complexion. Even in the dark, Crux was aware of his blue eyes. For some reason, one that she wasn't quite able to put her finger on, the combination irked her.

"Hey! Just what the hell do you think you're doing?" Crux yelled out as she strode closer to him. Perhaps it was wrong for her to be so mad. Perhaps it was unreasonable, but she had been close, so close, only to have one of her few kills swiped out from under her. She wasn't a very offensive person, her ego had taken quite a beating this past few days. Crux had wanted to be the one who killed the youma, had wanted it both for her ego and her pride.

Aeolia narrowed his eyes at the female senshi who appeared to be angry at him. What did he do? He didn’t know. The knight looked down, staring at the spot the youma had once been. By now the crumbled dust had already blown away or disappeared or whatever it always did. “I took it out,” he stated matter-of-factly. Clearly she had been asking a silly question, perhaps a rhetorical one, but Aeolia didn’t always like rhetorical questions. “But of course you don’t like it. Are you the type that doesn’t like it when people butt in?” His arms crossed and he quirked an eyebrow at her. Usually he wouldn’t be angry. Perhaps if he spent a significant amount of time fighting the youma he would have been irritated, but he still would have kept his voice even.

“I’m Aeolia, by the way.” He didn’t sense any dark energies from her, so it was probably safe to disclose his name. “You are?”

She ground the heel of her foot into the ground and spun around so she could see his face. For some reason, the evenness of his voice annoyed her. Smiling sarcastically she said, "My name is Crux. a*****e."

A pause. Her temper did not fade. "And yes. I am the type that hates it when people butt in." She sent another withering sarcastic glare in Aeolia's direction, before she turned away from him. Crux was leaving. She had enough. If she stayed any longer, she was liable to slap Aeolia flat across the cheeks. Her anger was unreasonable, perhaps unfair, but Crux had been in a dark mood the entire week.

Okay, so she was angry. Really angry. A scowling Aeolia eyed her sarcastic smile for a moment before spitefully smiling back at her. “My name’s Aeolia, not a*****e.” Throughout the exchange he kept his tone calm, but as his smile quickly morphed into a scowl it was obvious to see that their first meeting was spiraling downward.

“Really now? Maybe I should butt in more then,” he noted with the quirk of a brow. He folded his arms across his chest, watching the senshi storm away. Perhaps it was for the better that the meeting end now rather than result in a blow up. They were technically on the same side so there was no need for a fight.

Surely, the world hated her. That was the only way Crux could justify this meeting. This man, Aeolia, was just about the single most annoying thing she'd had the misfortune of running into. Minus Carnelian. But Carnelian was pretty high up on her list of "things-I-can't-stand".

Crux pinched her nose in frustration. She let out a sigh and decided to walk away. The girl had to remind herself that slapping someone, no matter how much she wanted to do it, was not a great way to start a "relationship". Better to walk away and relieve herself of this headache now and deal with Aeolia later. Not that she ever wanted to meet Aeolia again, but Crux was starting to learn it was better to not burn any bridges...

If only Crux knew who Aeolia really was. She would have gotten a real kick out of the discovery, or maybe she would have attempted to strangle the poor man for ruining her life so many times. Aeolia wouldn’t have cared. He would have smacked her in return. Hard.

The page watched with quizzical eyes as Crux pinched her nose, an obvious sign that she was annoyed, but what for? For ‘stealing’ the final blow? While he could understand her annoyance, he couldn’t understand why she was so worked up about one stinking youma. It was one stinking youma. Aeolia continued to start as she began to walk away. He raised a confused eyebrow at her shrinking back before he decided to turn around and walk in the opposite direction. If she didn’t want to talk, he wouldn’t push her.
