This had to be one of the strangest summonings that Nigel had ever performed.
Instead of a man, like the redheaded mage had been expecting, Nigel had been surprised to find a fish-tailed fellow in the center of his summoning circle. He'd called forth non-human guardians for vials before, obviously, but this was still a new one - he'd yet to see any merfolk before this, and summoning one out of the water was definitely not how he'd been expecting to encounter one. That being said, you wouldn't know that Nigel was surprised by the appearance of the merman in his summoning circle - his expression remained rather neutral as he tossed a vial filled with dark-coloured liquid up and down in his hand.
"Sorry for the interruption, but I have something for you." That was a lie, actually; he wasn't really all that sorry.

Icarus flopped around, tail slapping against the concrete as he tried to turn around and see what was talking to him. Or who. He pushed himself over with that fishy-tail, and wound up on his stomach, looking at Nigel and flipping his tail back and forth as he watched him.
He opened his mouth to speak, and out came what would possibly be the most grating screech Nigel had ever heard. No words, really, just SOUND. Noise, even.

Well, this was entirely unpleasant. Nigel clapped his hands over his ears as the piercing noise filled the room. Good GODDESS, was that really necessary. "Be QUIET!" he yelled over the sound, gripping the vial tightly in his hand. How could anything make a sound that was so ungodly annoying?! Gritting his teeth, Nigel pulled his hand away from one of his ears momentarily so as to toss the vial at the merman. "There! Take it, dear GODDESS!"
