Dark Ion gazed over the field and counted herd members. It appeared that nearly all members were present today. He puffed out his chest. This was the herd and family that he and his mate Opal created. From two horses to the great hoard of foals that now gamboled and raced across the field and under the tree, occassionaly one or two would fall or leap into the crystal waters of the beautiful lake that bordered their home.
Foals of all colors ran between the various parents. Blue, Yellow, Black, Orange, and in the case of Adonis a menagerie of other colors. He watched over a walking rainbow, some were his children some were neices and nephews and three were grandchildren. This was something to be very proud of. And he glowed.

Dark Prism, foal of Dark Hellfyre and Prism, ran back and forth across the field. Every now and then, she'd tag a sister, for she had 3 of them, and run off laughing, only to be quickly distracted by something else in the field. If she went too far, there was an adult to whinny a warning, and she would come back to the middle of the field, unrepentant. She ran to the beat of her own drum, always curious and questioning. Seeing the herd leader watching over the field, she made her way towards him much like the approached anything else: at full speed, focused only on the object of attention. She ran up to him, and around, slowing down to look out at the field from his angle. Unable to determine what it was he was looking at, she stopped and danced in place. "Whatcha lookin' at, sir?" Being the head stallion, she knew to use a certain degree of respect towards him.

Sunfire is walking in a field when he hears the noise of children playing and laughing. He smiles with warmth and amusement at finding a herd this far out. He looks up in the bright sky where Kuari his familar, a beautiful bond bird is keeping watch over him and there surroundings. He sends out a question to his bird to see if it is safe to aproch the herd up ahead. Kuari tells him it looks peaceful, though there is a Stallion standing guard. Good job Kuari, keep alert. Don't want to be surprised out in the open like this. He sent out to his faithful bird.
Sunfire thinks for a moment of why he was here. He felt drawn to this place for sure, like the land itself calling out to him. He knew that he should go to the head of this herd to find out about the area and teritory. If he wanted to stay here for awhile then he should also gain permission. If not he would have to keep moving till he is out of there teritory.
He starts to walk forward again heading to where the Stallion kept watch over the rest of the herd. Sunfire bows his head with respect.
"Hello, my name is Sunfire..." He got out before Kuari lands on Sunfire's shoulder. Sunfire gives his bird an amused smile before looking back at the Stallion. "I currently do not have a herd and am seeking a good place to stay for awhile. Would it be alright to stay a few nights on your land till I find out why I was drawn to this place?Sunfire Journal Link

"I am looking at my family Dark Prism and it fills my heart with joy. Wait.. who is that?" A bright orange and red colored stallion had caught his eye. "He is new here." said Ion. The dark stallion watched as the intruder approached. The male showed him the proper respect and Ion dipped his head in return.
"Welcome to Equi'Amiticia, my herd. My name is Dark Ion and it is a pleasure to see you Sunfire. Would you mind if my bayrel checked you out first? With the six being so active in the desert I find that I am hesitant to grant entrance lightly. Not that you don't look like a good fellow but you understand I have so many to protect." And he dipped his head and nuzzled Prism where she stood by him for emphasis. He tickled her as he did so.
A grey Bayel trotted seemingly out of nowhere and pointed his dainty black nose at the orange stallion. Sphale carefully stepped around the stallion and scanned him for suspicious odors. He eyed the sairys and then moved on carefully. He returned to Ion then "He checks out all right Ion."
Ion nodded. "You may stay for as long as it pleases you Sunfire. Welcome to the herd. I'm afraid there are a lot of introductions to make though. This is my niece Dark Prism and this is Sphale Irondrake my familiar and guardian of the herd."

Taoshira entered the plain that most of the herd gathered in. With two of her children in tow, she searched the plain for her mate, wondering where he could have disappeared to. "Come, Schuyler, Tylion, lets go say hello." She approached Dark Ion who had another foal beside him, she tries to remember a name that Thali might have told her but comes up empty. But there is another stallion there, one that was new that she had never seen before. But the fact that Ion was letting him into the herd's lands stated that he was no threat.
"Dark Ion." Tashi said politely, dipping her head in the appropriate fashion while instructing Schuy and Ty to do the same. Tashi hadn't had much herd interaction since the first and last meeting with Ion's mate, Opal. Her hide twitched in nervousness. Granted, the mare had been pregnant at the time, and now Tashi understands she may have not been in control of her emotions after having children of her own.

Down below, Enthallion as per usual was surrounded by foals. He just had a way with them. He pounced on Alkion and Adonis when the two puffed up at him and he tickled them until they were gasping. Dark Onyxa bit his tail and he whirled on her and gave her the same tickling treatment. "Show you guys to pick on your Uncle Thali huh." He was not going to name his true titles: father, brother, cousin ect. So he settled for Uncle.
Ion's eye sparked at Tashi's presence. He gently touched noses with the mare who had made his son so happy. "It is a great pleasure to see you again daughter." he said. "I hope now you will be able to visit more often without my mate flying into a raging fit." Ion was sorry that Opal had scared the living daylights out of Tashi. And he hoped to make up for it somehow. "This is Sunfire a new member. Sunfire this is Tashi, my daughter in law and mate to my son who is the one currently being pummeled by various foals in the herd. Enthallion!" he called, "Come here!"
Enthallion heard his father and dragged himself out from under the foal pile that had formed about him in a moment of lacking attention. He came panting up the ridge, covered in sweat and foal drool. He walked to a chorus of groans and caterwauls from the charges he left behind.
He stopped in front of Ion. "Tashi." he smiled.

" Thank you Heard Master Dark Ion. I too have a familar. His name is Kuari and he is up there. " He nods to the sairys flying in the sky with the same coloring as Sunfire himself. Sunfire watches Kuari for a moment and checks in with him before prodding him to show himself..:: Kuari ::Kuari tucks his wings in to dive down then at the last moment opens his wings and lands gracefully on sunfire. He gives a hello chirp then starts to preen himself.Sunfire Journal Link

 Azurite had been running around, hopping over stones and stumps and siblings and uncles and anything else he could bolt over. When a new challenge presented itself: In the form of a large, orange stallion, he couldn't resist, and ran pelting after sunfire. His spring off the ground gave him enough height, and he managed not to clip the stallion, or his feathered companion, but had a recurring problem on the down-curve, and rolled a few feet to land in a dizzy heap when he botched the landing, giggling. "I wanna do that again!" He chortled, chuckling softly as he got up again, turning back to Sunfire. "Can I jump the birdy too?" He asked, his pose mimicking that of a cat's, ready to pounce at the tilt of a feather.

.:: Sunfire ::.Sunfire had seen the young stud running fast towards them. She pretended not to notice but alerted Kuari of the young one's playful game. A moment later he felt the air from the young one's leap. He chuckles and turns towards him to make sure he was ok. He nezzles the young one.
" Are you alright young one? That was a really big leap. Impressive. I think you have a talent for leaping like one of those gaint felines. "Sunfire Journal Link

Dark Ion's mouth fell open. "Uh ahem...sorry about that. That would be my son Azurite. He is quite...hyper..someti...most of the.. all of the time." He admitted. "Once he sees what he considers a challenge, the real challenge is to stop him before he clobbers someone. You get used to it."
Enthallion giggled at Azurite. "Whats the matter you get tired of leaping over me?"

Azurite's attention was diverted as easily as that, and he giggled and sped over towards Enthallion to try to make the leap, hoof slipping at the last minute so he tumbled under the larger stallion, giggling from the other side of him as he watched the world spin for a minute before picking himself up again.
