Sarabi was up a little earlier than normal today. She was spending her morning just taking in the surroundings of the pride. Even though she had lived there for her enitre life she spend a lot of her living here outside of the rpide and now that she was older she had been spending a lot more time in the pride. She really decided to keep this her home and because of that she was spending a lot more time enjoying her home. In some cases keeping an eye on the borders of it, such as today.
She sat on a large slab of rock, enjoying watching the birds starting to come out after the sunrise but that didn't seem to be the only thing coming out of the sunrise. As she looked out she saw some one approaching, they were heading toward the pride, but she didn't recognized them at all. Although she didn't know all of the lions in the pride, she was pretty good with faces and she was pretty sure that she had never seen their faces around here before. She was pretty sure that they were not in the pride and because of that she was curious of who they were and she decided to investigate. She was normally a brave lioness, nothing came across her head that she might get hurt. Well she knew that these two may be dangerous but at the same time she didn't care that much. She started to trot quickly and quietly through the grasses, keeping her head down and herself hidden, she didn't want to be seen. As she watched them she waited until they seemed to be off guard before she popped her head out and scolded the two. "Who goes there!?"

Canicus had done a lot of the traveling very carefully. Emm was in no condition to make travels as great as she had recently. But he had needed to get her somewhere she would be safe. Each time he hunted, the male felt like he was leaving her to whatever could find her before he returned. That thought alone filled him with a dread that carried through until he returned and was nuzzling her cheek once more. Shew as special, and she needed the affection, and care, of someone like.. him.
The males vibrant orange eyes glittered in the sunshine. In truth the heat was unbearable against the black of his back .But he said nothing, sure that Em already knew such a pain.
He heard the voice before he caught the scent and his ears alerted almost instantly. He paused, looking up and concerned. He was sure they were around somewhere safe, and the voice did not sound threatening. But that didnt stop the protective male of standing in defense for Em.
"I shall ask the same." He said, though calmly.

Although Emm was used to traveling, she allowed Cani to let her travel much more carefully this time. She was pretty sure it was good for her. After her last litter she was having a harder time going from place to place, it wasn't as easy as it once was. Many of the signs that she would have before passing out diminished and the heat got to her much quicker. She knew for sure that having some one to care about her not only was out of the ordinary for her but something that she really wasn't used to. Some times she didn't know what to do with herself. She was used to caring for others, that part of the relationship was easy. But the rest, not that much. She took care of her cubs but no one has taken care of her since she was younger.
She liked her independence but at this point she knew that she needed the help, and she wanted the help, she was actually starting to become thankful because of it. She really enjoyed it. She looked at Cani for a moment and was about to say something before she also heard a voice call out to them. She was really surprised. She didn't know what to think about it at all. She raised a eye brow to the lioness before looking at Cani, he was being cute and protective, she giggled a little.
Sarabi looked at the two and then stood up straight. "You shouldn't be asking me the same question. You are intruding in the Pridelands." She warned. She looked at them. "Are you wandering or are you looking for something, are you guys looking for this to be your home? Other wise you should go the other way." The lioness warned, she knew that there were a bnuch of new comers making their way in lately. She wasn't about to chase some one away that could be wanting to join the pride, she knew that would make some one upset at her. She looked at them before pausing and then nodding at them. "Well?" She pushed a little more before deciding to introduce herself. "My name is Sarabi by the way.

He supposed being rude and offending someone wasnt the best way to make some place your home. He needed to lighten up but it was hard. He had Emm on his mind constantly, and he was really scared for her safety when it was just the two of them.
"I am looking for a safe haven. Somewhere I can take my beloved to be safe from harm. I have heard of these lands, and we come here with no ill intent."
He said, trying to rope in his guarded tone as much as possible. He really wasnt a bad guy, in fact he was a quite sweet, loyal male. But it was hard to show that when you were constantly defending the ones you loved.
"I am Canicus." He said, bowing his head, and looking to Emm to see if she had the strength to answer.

Emm looked to the male and then chuckled a little. She could almost see the worry across her face. she thought it was a little silly but at the same time she knew that he couldn't help it not only that but she knew that she couldn't do anything about it. She simply smiled at him and then flicked her hair out of her eyes and then turned toward the female. "Yes." She spoke simply moving to Cani's side and leaning against him slightly. "We're looking for a home where we can stay." She nodded to the lioness, a kind smile was on her face. She turned toward Cani and pulled at his ear a little playfully, almost as if to tell him to relax a little.
Sarabi looked at the male a little suspiciously. She didn't know what to think however she turned around and then looked at the other lioness once again. She wasn't exactly afraid of the males however on the other hand she would get a little uncomfortable in front of males that she didn't know. However a female she always trusted, she really didn't have males in her life, she had brothers but they weren't really around and she had a father but she never met him, because of that seeing females she always trusted them more. She arched a brow for a moment before smiling at them with a small nod. "These are nice lands." She commented simply before flicking her hair out of her eyes and speaking again. "we normally welcome everyone who comes our way, I need to lead you to our kind and queen." she stated simply with a nod, a smile was still on her face. "Follow me." She stated as she turned around and started to trot the other way toward pride rock. "Do you have any questions about the lands?"

Canicus didn't appear to be making friends it seemed. He didnt mean to come off rude. But where Emm came into his story, he was almost no nonsense. He tried to give a smile, but it was lost in a frown as lines of worry had began marring his face. He let his love lean against him, and supported her with the strength of a tree. He would never falter when it came to her.. He hoped..
"My main question is.. are there any dens around here? I could use some sleep. Same with Emm. It's important we take care of ourselves now that we can." He nodded, looking at Sarabi with an eyebrow raise.

Emm looked at the female and then at Cani a smile was on her face when she knew that he was starting to calm down a little more. That really did make her feel extremely happy. She was glad to know that the male wasn't getting as grumpy as he was before. That made her feel good on the inside because if she was feeling good and he was feeling good then everything was going to go good. Or at least that was the way that she was feeling good. She turned toward the male and then smiled and nodded at him before speaking to the lioness.
"Yes, although we are looking to joing for now we really just want to rest for a little while." She laughed a little before nodding at her with a smile still on her face. The idea of settling in was nice, but she couldn't deny however she thought that getting some sleep was even more exciting to her at this second.
Sarabi stared at the two lions although she got where they were coming from rest was nice she didn't fully understand what she was going to do or why they wanted to rest first. She didn't understand, then again she didn't know too much about them yet. At the second anyway she was going to be learning more about them when they joined their pride but for now on the other hand she wasn't that sure at all. She wasn't going to deny them what they wanted though. She flicked her hair out of her eyes and then started to think about what she was going to do with the pair. "We don't have a den close to the main dens for the strangers but we do have one in the pide." She said as she thought about it. "I'm pretty sure at the moment there isn't anyone in there right now so you guys will be by yourselves." She said with a nod before she started to turn in the direction that it was. "Tomorrow you guys can meet the higherups." She suggested with a smile on her face before she started to trot in the correct direction. "Follow me." she said with the smile still on her face.

"Ah- Yes. What she said. We want to join, and we have every intention of doing so. But for now, we need rest. We have been traveling a long while, and I know that if I am winded that she must be too." He said, and looked at Emm when he said "she." He tried to offer a warm smile, but truth was until she was laying down and he could rest with her he was nervous. He was scared she would get hurt, or sick, not that she wasn't already.
"Thank you..For your hospitality. I know we do not really deserve it but you are a great help." He said with a nod, and an attempt at a smile at Sarabi too.

Sarabi looked at the pair before a small chuckle escaped her mouth. "No, no, everyone deserves a chance at not only a home but also being able to rest. Stranger or not, you haven't done anything to prove that you are going to attack over the night." She smiled back at him. Beside she knew that the pridelands were more than big enough to take on wo lions if something were to happen, and even after a series of battles with the hyenas he still knew that the pride was tough and able to take on what ever he needed to take on. But he thought thta whoever these two were, they deserved being able to have a chance at settling in and after whatever traveling they were going through she knew that she would want to be given the chance at resting and she was pretty sure that they wanted that.
"Come follow me, I'll lead you to where you can rest"
Sarabi looked up at the female and then at her mate, standing and leaning against him once again. He was used to being able to lean against some one and walk with them so that she could stay up and keep going. She was indeed starting to get tired but she knew that she could make it as long as she was getting a little help. "We're almost there." She said simply with a chuckle mentioning more of the fact that they were almost in a home, some where they they can settle and do what they want.

The quiet male smiled at her words. He knew that she was right, they needed a place to call home. They weren't undeserving of being happy. Not when they had done nothing to lose such hope. They had never harmed anyone, never did more than was in their right to do. He had done a good job, at keeping his name clean. He was used to holding up his mate's weight. He was a large lion, and her small frame did little deter him. He looked down at her, smiling and leaning his nose down to nudge her cheek softly. "Yes we are, my love. Yes we are." He whispered with a soft purr. He had found them a home. Somewhere safe, where they could live in peace.
