Just like the title, it was a moonlight evening on the island of Dues. Misty fog covered the grounds giving the island a mysterious...if not romantic mood.

One mysterious figure crossed the training grounds in the night, shadowed only by the light at his side that was his weapon, a dull flame emitting from the small sheath on his thighs.

I am always sure. He grinned as he patted her, reaching up to a half opened window that led to the Division rooms. As to why he was creeping into the rooms at the moment, who knew. Where he had gone...nobody knew. Was it to meet a secret lover in one of the offices? Was it to train in the fields outside?

He sighed as he opened the doors out into the hallways. Like a thief, after all the hearts, he snuck out into the Division: Mist rooms. He had something he needed from the Mist division after all.

All the females. A whole division of females only...and he wanted in, He held up the papers of his division, Moon of course and put them in the transfer bin for mist. If anyone to catch him well, he feigned many things. Men he would beat up, Girls he would charm...who knew.

Hell Yeah we're doing this for girls!

It was late, yes. It was almost tomorrow. But Jerry had fallen asleep sooner than she would have liked--she was about to go put on his present to her, damnit!--and she had learned first hand what would happen if she turned off the light thinking he wouldn't wake up. She wasn't tired, she was the complete opposite. She needed entertainment, something fun that she could use to wear herself out so she could go crawling back to her room or to Jerry and sleep. Naturally her first thought had been to see if H was in the mood to entertain, or more specifically fool around. Candace would admit she could really use the attention; she adored Jerry and all but he just wasn't up to par with how she liked to spend her time in bed with a man.

Atropos yelled at her the moment she started to venture up to the third floor.

Sigh..

She snuggled into her coat some more and shivered against the cold, retreating into the nearest building to try and warm up a little. Maybe this was a stupid idea. She should just go back to Jerry's room, wake him up and whine at him to warm her up until h--what was that? It sounded like footsteps...but everyone should be asleep right now? Candace's eyes narrowed. Who the hell was..? Candace lifted to the balls of her feet and walked on her toes along the wall, keeping her steps slow and quiet. Who the hell was wandering around in there this late at night? I don't hear any voices. Candace frowned. Neither do I...it can't not be a hunter, right? It had to be a hunter. It couldn't be a creature. Doesn't hurt to check. That was true.

Candace stepped along until she found an open doorway, pressing back against the wall and narrowing her eyes. Lance? Of course not. Those were footsteps. Aria? No, it couldn't be...

...Who the ******** was...was that one of the new guys?!

"Isn't it past your bedtime, kid?" Candace asked with a raised brow as she pushed off the wall to stand in the open doorway, hands on her hips and weight on one leg.

He was so close, he could almost taste the sweet atmosphere of femininity. To be an only male in there, It would be like....it would be like him having his own harem.

Granted that he was pretty sure that all of the mist hunter girls we're taken. I mean, no offense but the mist girls had it going on, even their leader was hot....

That being said though, he barely registered the voice that had called out to him, but thanks to Chama's scream in his head, he whipped around before looking at....oh hey look it was one of the Mist girls.

And she was a tall mocha latte wasn't she. Starbucks had nothing on her at the moment.

"Who's a kid, Babe?" He cocked his head before looking around. Unfortunately for him, she was blocking the exit route of the room...well, he had been in worst situations...and with a lot less attractive people. "What brings such a beautiful woman to the Mist room at..." He looked around for a watch or clock or something, "So late at night?" He stepped closer to her. At 5'11 ft....almost 6'ft, He held on a few inches over her, only having to duck his head a little, all the while tucking his hands in his pocket as he gave her a cocky grin.

Babe? Candace tilted her head to one side. She didn't get a chance to remind him he was the kid before he began with the compliments and the very, very painfully obvious attempt at flirting. It was also a very poor attempt. Wow. "It's midnight." She told him as the young boy stepped up to stand in front of her. Oh? What was this? She looked up at him and barely tipped her head back to do so. She refused to. "Escaping the cold, if you must know. Also...it's my division. What brings a moon trainee here?"

Didn't this boy hit on you once before? Atropos chuckled. Ah, so Atropos had been paying attention then? She could have sworn the first time she met this boy had been when they were still fighting. I believe he did. He still isn't my type. Atropos gave a snort. What is your type? Even I'm left wondering. Candace gave no comment, barely managing not to roll her eyes.

"Ah the witching hour." Dakota grinned, "Anywhere else but this island and we'd be swarmed with visions of little demons or those damned Halloween creatures." He yawned as he stood with her, in the mist room. "Ya know there's a saying that humans usually come together, intimately to chase away the cold. Don't you have someone you should be curled up too?" Dakota cocked his head before smiling, "If not, I have a lot of free time at the moment." His grin got wider before fading.

"Ah man, what are the odds of the division I am trying to sneak into would have a trainee rolling up around in here." Dakota winced, "Figures." He looked around before smiling sadly, "Though I probably mean it as a joke...I was thinking of joining Mist for the harem status of women here." He waited for her reaction before smiling. "I'm kidding."

"No Seriously though, Is it true that all the Mist hunters are girls?" He rose an eyebrow at her. In all honesty, he didn't know much about the Mist division, the only extent of his knowledge of them was Aria and Cass and now this one. The more he looked at her though, the more he thought he might know her from somewhere. But from the damage Caelius did to him, he wasn't sure if his brain had lost critical memories....or suffered from permanent brain damage.

The witching hour...how cute. Candace tried not to laugh up until he brought up getting intimate. That's adorable. "I do but he's sleeping right now and I'm not tired." So she'd rather not wake him, obviously. Candace wasn't going to spread around that Jerry slept with the lights on; it wasn't anyone's business that Jerry was painfully afraid of the dark. She had been shoved out of the bed a couple times by nightmares so really it was indeed a painful fear. Oh..but that offer. That was just precious. "Thanks for the offer but if I need a man to hold me and keep me warm I know where to go." She had two options, really. H's room couldn't be too hard to find, could it? There were only three leaders on the grounds so...that meant they had to be the first three rooms on the third floor?

...That was his reason for wanting to be in Mist. Candace gave him a blank stare. He had to be kidding. He had to be kidding.

Somehow she didn't think that claim to be kidding was true.

"A harem...right." She sighed and shook her head at his question. "No. There are men. Just at the moment all the trainees are women...taken women, at that. Good luck with your harem." She paused and frowned again. "Besides, aren't you like..twelve?" She knew damn well he wasn't actually twelve but she couldn't help but associate him with that age.

It matched his mentality.

"Ah Too bad, another loss for the single side." Dakota rolled his shoulder before shrugging, "Must've been a rough day for the poor old chap, or perhaps a rough evening." He gave Candace a once over one more time before looking away. Did she like having other men on the side? It sounded that way almost with her next statement, though Dakota wasn't a prier. We live in a day and age now where cheating, multiple lovers or polygamy are starting to become a common occurring theme.

Not that he was all into that. A girl was taken, and that meant there was no need to attempt in feeble attempts to woo her. Or whatever. He could still flirt...unless she went crazy on him. Somehow, he didn't think he would put it past the new Mist hunter.

"Your pretty little face says you don't believe this to be a joke." Dakota grinned as he held up his hands, "Okay you got me, initially interested because there was only women, a lot of pretty women and---" Ah s**t, ALL of them we're taken? What the hell? His vision of Mist harem completely obliterated and had him sighing, "Man that bites. Oh well, I'll have to find a harem some other way." he looked at her with wide eyes before frowning. "No, I am 17rs old, do I freaking look like I am 12?"

PostPosted: Thu Jan 26, 2012 7:56 pm

The look that flashed across Candace's face was one that clearly said she wished it'd been a rough evening. A pleasantly rough one, anyway. But no...it wasn't like that. She tried and she tried and nothing worked. It was starting to get very frustrating. She had needs, damnit! Didn't he?! Ugh. "Nothing like that, just why lay around doing nothing when I'm not tired? I could be doing better things with my time." Candace loved to cuddle with him and all but if he was sleeping it wasn't as fun. She liked to talk! She couldn't just talk at a sleeping Jerry!

Could he have been anymore obvious about checking her out? Candace raised a brow and stood straight and tall, her hands on her hips and subtly pushing her coat out of the way of her figure. She had no intention of doing anything to or with this boy but she didn't give a s**t if someone wanted to look; Candace was not one of those women who wore revealing clothing and then flipped out when she caught people staring. She had a nice body, why would she be ashamed someone was just looking? It wasn't harmful to anything. "...Satisfied? Or should I do a little turn so you can get a full view?" She eventually asked when he seemed finished with his once over, stepping away from the door to pick up the paper he had put down and read it over.

"Mm. Keep flattering me, I love it." It was hard to tell whether that was sarcasm or not. "And you're right, I don't believe you when you say you're kidding..." Candace murmured, looking back at the boy seriously. He could never handle Mist... "Or you could...think realistically and try to find one girl who will like you."

At his question she chuckled and turned to face him, leaning back against the desk with her hands gently gripping the edge. "Perhaps not physically." She pushed off the desk to walk up to the boy, standing close to him and tapping a finger under his chin, a lazy smile spreading across her lips. "Mentally? Definitely." She purred, gently pushing him away with a few fingers against his chest. "Guessing you get your dating tips from romantic comedies? Or from television shows about lonely men who want to pick up chicks?" Candace gave a snort. "Most women don't get hot and bothered by cheesy pick up lines and offers such as 'oh if you're cold I can warm you up, baby'."

Dakota's eyebrow rose. He knew that look, or at least thought he knew that look on a woman. She had needs, he had the stamina.....

"I hear you on that though and have to agree. Kinda of hard to rest when you think of the next thing you can do....like missions and such." Regardless of being a flirt, Dakota liked his fair share of missions. They kept his mind and body busy from thinking of other things.

As such, he was deep in contemplation of his current mission, not really paying attention as Candace got closer before he looked into her eyes. s**t for a girl, she was holding her own in the height department....all the while with a tight body and long legs....Dakota was flushing a bit the closer she got. This...This was a real woman after all.

"If you want to Babe, It never hurts to look does it." Dakota grinned before crossing his hands over his chest, while his brain said don't get any idea's, his hands said different. A little voice in the back of his head said 'She's taken..." but a even bigger little voice was going..."holy hot hell I wanna tap that."

"I don't believe in that." His face shut down and he frowned, "Any girl I've been with or met has either only want me for a good time or to pay for whatever they want, doesn't matter how many men they string along." He held his chin before lightening up, "Plus, i'm such a charmer, all the girls love me." Whether that was said seriously or not was a different matter. Knowing Dakota it would, but the way he looked when he said it was a different matter all together.

His eye's widened at her touch before holding his breath, whatever game she was playing, he wasn't sure if he liked or not. In the end, something bad was going to happen. And yet that voice in the back of his head. The big little voice....'tap thaaaaaaat.'

"Not in my revenue of pick up lines Babe." He grinned before looking at her, "Your one to talk about love though, I'm curious, Who was your first love then? What's your experiences with it?"

PostPosted: Mon Jan 30, 2012 5:38 pm

"Delightful." Candace answered simply when told he didn't believe in committing himself to one girl. Typical little boy answer. Though the stringing along comment got a visible response out of her as she frowned, her fists clenching for a moment before she forced herself to relax lest she ruin it. No, he couldn't know. No one could know. "A charmer...yes." She rolled her eyes and stepped away to put the paper back. Perhaps Aria would find some amusement in it later.

Not in his..what? "...Yes it is you just used it on me." Candace corrected him with a sigh, ruffling at her hair. What was with this kid? Did he have short term memory issues or something? How could he forget he used a lame a** pickup line on her?!

At the question about love she tensed, her expression unreadable. Love..? Wh...why was he asking her about love? Her body's immediate reaction was a sudden raising of her anxiety level; her heart raced, she could hear her head pounding as blood rushed through it, and were it not for the fact that she had a sleeve she could hold and tug on until her knuckles paled she would be shaking. It's okay, Candace. It's okay. She swallowed hard and gave a nervous laugh. "Love? Pfft. I...I've never..." She paused. "Well no there was that one time..." Candace fell quiet, scratching at her cheek and looking away. She seemed to be talking to herself now instead of Dakota. "But I was eleven that can't really count...but...no I've..I've never...and I doubt I will ever..." She waved a hand and idly sorted through papers just as something to do with her hands, stacking them neatly in alphabetical order. "Love is...my dad loved my mother and it brought him nothing but unhappiness." She was glaring at the papers now. Her parents were fools. "And my mother? Ha! She claimed to love him but...she still..." Candace waved a hand. "Love is a painful, complicated problem that...that just brings nothing but heartache. I've never been in love, Dakota. So I can't give you an answer to that question." Her tone was clear. There was an answer but she wasn't giving it to him.

"..Why do you ask? That seems very random for someone who sounds like they just want to get laid. What do you care about love?" She eyed him suspiciously now. It was time to get the focus off her. She needed to calm down. Oh god her chest felt so tight, she wanted to throw up as well. s**t.

"Don't Judge." He shrugged. No one knew his past and what made him believe in that course of life anyways. They were strangers on this island after all, and honestly, It made it easier for him if he didn't make bonds. The last one had cost him. Dearly. "Yep! A bonafied Charmer right here little lady..." He winked before frowning, "Oh did I? Darn, and here I thought I was getting out of that habit, too bad my short term memory doesn't let me remember anything." He rubbed his hand over his hair, ruffling it before resting back into his relaxed and charmer mode.

Though, he watched her as she thought over his question before cocking his head. Such a interesting response from her for someone who he thought might have had many experiences of love, judging by how she talked. "Well?" He continued to cross his arms over his chest before frowning. She was nervous, her hands were all over the place and then organizing papers on the Mist desk. Just moments before she had been so confident and cool, it was such a odd change.

"......" Silence filled him as he heard her words before the frown deepened and he reached over. "Candace." He said as he moved her hands away from the desk, just so he didn't have to see the way she pretended not to be bothered by the question.

"I'm sorry if what I asked upset you..." He broke off. Was this something Dr. H wanted him to see? For him to hear himself? It was funny that he thought women were just the same, always so confident and cruel with their ways. He had spoken so easily of them stringing men along, and by the sound of Candace's mother, he would've been right to presume it. But with how Candace acted, it seemed so different.

"It's not really random. It was something that was brought to my attention by someone I suppose I should consider a mentor for now. He just told us to ask about Girl's first love...I ask you since you seem-I'm not just trying to get laid...." He ruffled his hand in his hair again before sighing...and then covering it up with a goofy grin, "But you know....If your willing-?"....He frowned at her question before pushing himself off the desk.

"I don't right now. Not anymore. Not here. I'm just going to die in the future, and looking at my career choice, It's not like I can have a normal relationship with a girl here. I respect the ones that can I guess but....with the fact that we're constantly reminded of how we'll die, whats the point of finding that connection?" He moved to look out the window of the mist room....His mood changing from flirty to brooding to flirty again.

That's because I don't like to think of it. Because it just led him to dark thoughts. He was going to make the best of his short life after all. Love not included.

"Besides pretty lady, Polygamy is outlawed, and seeing that I love all women, be pretty tough for me to get away with anything." He grinned again before crossing his arms. "Don't you think it's time to return to your man? I don't think you like playing with little boys all that much yeah?"
PostPosted: Mon Feb 06, 2012 6:02 pm

When Dakota grabbed her hands and moved them she frowned and tugged them away, taking a step back away from the boy. Touching her was not the thing to do right now. Her thumbs rubbed circles around the glowing gems on her fingers in an effort to quietly soothe herself; it brought her comfort to be reminded Atropos was there. The purring that filled her head whenever she did that helped, too.

She let him apologize, nearly reaching to mess with the papers again but thinking better of it. It wasn't like her to behave this way; Candace didn't like it. This was stupid. Why couldn't she get over this belief that love was a poison that slowly killed a relationship?! She wanted to love. She wanted to know what it was like, to feel what Jerry felt...but the idea terrified her. Why did it have to be so difficult? Why couldn't it just be one of those simple things she could go along with without any issues? She even let him explain himself without interrupting, suddenly sniffing and clearing her throat. She let out a soft sigh and clicked her tongue, just staying quiet while she fought back tears. Stop it right the ******** now.

"Who is this mentor of yours?" She had her suspicions but she didn't want to just assume. "...Dakota. You are seventeen. I am twenty-three. Even if I was willing I would get in trouble." Meaning: ******** no and if you say it again I'm slapping you.

Dakota continued on to explain something very honest and relevant, and Candace couldn't help but silently agree with him. Relationships were hard enough without the added stress of training, missions, and the very likely possibility of death at any given time. How did she manage what she had? It baffled her sometimes. Was she trying too hard? "Companionship." Candace said quietly, sighing and rubbing her face as she turned away. "Those reasons are exactly why a relationship is nice to have. If you're going to die one day, which even non-hunters are mind you so your logic here isn't entirely reasonable if your only reason for not pursuing a relationship is inevitable death, you might as well find someone you want to spend your dying days with." Did that make sense? Probably not. It barely made sense to her and she'd been the one to say it. "Someone who's there to comfort you, who cares about you, someone who at the end of the day when you've stressed and worked yourself to exhaustion is there to cheer you up and just hold you because he--she...she loves you so much, whether you feel you deserve it or not." She sighed, ruffling her hair and closing her eyes. "Love is a poison, but...sometimes it's a poison that's not so bad if you find the right person...it's not? I don't.." She sighed again and would have cotinued on if not for him ruining everything.

"...You are going to get your a** beat one day." Candace told Dakota with a smile. It was a prediction and one she was very confident of. He was going to have his a** handed to him on a silver platter. "And you're right," Candace crooned, turning to step up close to Dakota until they were barely inches apart. She was smiling as she put her hands on his shoulders and raised up on her tiptoes. "I prefer men over little boys." She said with a low purr, kissing Dakota's cheek before she drew away and stepped back. "A little maturity goes a long way, Dakota. Drop the cheesy pick up lines. Women don't get hot and bothered about that s**t, only idiot girls do..and you don't want a girl. I can assure you, women are more fun."

Dakota let her hands go just as he moved them and continued to watch her.

Damn he threw her out of whack...and over a question. Lame Dr. H. And not what he was expecting, the more he listened to her, the more he felt the need to just be....friends with her. Auuuuugh. Friendzoned. "I know I know, Cradle robbing, have a man, I am just joking, I won't ask you again." He held his hands up in front of him before grinning. "Wait...Why are you sniffing? Don't sniff. Sniffing leads to crying and I am no good at crying...." He looked around for something to help with it....with ITTTTTTTT. Please don't cry he prayed.

Ah...Ah. He flailed inside before blinking. Just as quickly as she sniffed, she had switched topics. He contemplated before shrugging. "Some guy on the Island who is a super pervert...and yet still gets all the ladies some how." He didn't go any further into that.

He smiled at her before dreading the facts that she said. Yes companionship...what everyone craved. Dakota was no different. He had been taken from the only people he knew and loved to be placed in a place with strangers and danger every corner. He wasn't whining about it, Because he chose this path and he would do all he could while he could....But he was feeling the heartache of not having someone special. At home, it had been his mom and his sister...here it was...Somewhat Wilson and Marcus. And Eva.

"Don't Jinx me Candace." He frowned before smiling back at her, he attempted to hold his hand out with a "Friends then?" When she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. Flushing at her with a dumb expression, he stared before a smile replaced it. Though he was still a little red. "Then go get your Man Candace." He rubbed at his cheek before he cocked his head again, "Before I grow up fast and decide to steal you away instead." Again he held up his hands, "All of you guys are women here after all." Was all he said before moving to the window. "And with the time, I think its time for me to sneak back out. Before a Mist not as Nice as you finds me." He turned towards the window before lifting his hand. "Farewell Babe, See you on the battlefield yeah?"

...Super pervert and gets ladies. Candace stared blankly at Dakota. "Stop taking advice from H. Now. He's a troll. He will set you up for humilation. Why? Because he ******** can." There was no anger, no bitterness, not even annoyance in her tone. She was merely stating fact. He was a damn fine man when she flirted with him, and she quite enjoyed her private moments with him, but Candace was well aware that he was a horrible person. "You shouldn't trust him Dakota. Trust me, you just shouldn't. Especially not when you're willingly going to him for 'mentoring' about something like this. And you're free to tell him I'm saying he's a terrible troll of a man who shouldn't be trusted. In fact, tell him I said that." Yes, that would be her answer for Dakota to report back to H instead of her pathetic reaction to his question about love. She didn't want H to hear about that, she could only hope that he would keep it a secret between them.

"Well you haven't completely pissed me off so...sure. Friends. You're cute when you blush, by the way. Precious." Though at his 'command' she raised a brow. Before he decided to..HA! Candace laughed and shook her head. "Adorable...eh? Where're you going?" Why the hell was he climbing out the window? "We use doors here, boy. Like normal people. C'mon, git." Candace reached out ad grabbed him by the back of his shirt, tugging him away from the window and out the door. ******** idiot, trying to climb out the window like that.

Dakota blinked at Candace before grinning, "See, Everyone knows him!" Dakota puffed his chest, but as soon as he did, it deflated before he peered at her. "Oh well....Um..." Awkwardddd~ But he supposed until he did, Dr. H would forever be his mentor like figure.

"Okay, I'll pass the message on..." He blinked again, obviously Candace did not have a good reaction to H...which meant...maybe H wasn't all that amazing after all? NONSENSE! One woman wasn't going to...okay maybe Candace could but whatever.

"Awesome, Could use more friends." He rolled his head before blushing again, "Yeah thanks..." He ad half his leg out as he mumbled about not being adorable before he was pulled back in. "I was trying to be mysterious okay. Your ruining the mysteriousness Candace..." He didn't sound whiny but he sure felt like it. Okay fine, door it is.

Okay one last thing he wanted to say...

"Are you going to tuck me in Candace?"
