Smirking a little as she walked out into the open field, she looked around at her surroundings wondering which way she could go. She wanted to have the most fun today. Cause the most damage and in the meantime probably make an enemy or two. She didn’t know what drove her to be like this, but it was what she liked to do. Some would call her a bad child, but she didn’t care. She was who she was.
Though she was a little irritated that she hadn’t seen Nishant in ages. She wondered what that big ‘ol oaf was up to. He wasn’t social enough to do things on his own and didn’t really have fun on his own either. Just the thought of him having fun without her made her a little more angry. Vesper was known for being quick to get enraged when something didn’t fit right into her little mind or didn’t go her way. She liked getting what she wanted and she was hard to sway on her ideas or views. She loved opinions and stuff of that nature, but if someone tried to change her in any way, she would end up knocking them out with her hoof.
This little filly didn’t play nice.
But with adventure on her mind, the thought of her friend swept out just as quickly as it came in. She walked forward on the open landscape feeling the slight chill to the air, but not really paying any mind to it. What she really wanted was to find someone to play with. She only hoped they would like the same kind of things she liked and even if they didn’t she wouldn’t care.
With a grin planted securely on her face, she continued on.

But the land also seemed to go on forever, without stop. Every mile that took them from the ocean shore lead them someplace new and only encouraged Aurelian to wonder what might be out there. . . If the scenery could change so much in the days walk they had taken, what might two or three days walk have in store?
Everything was so different from the seashore! The scent of salt had long since fallen away from the air, and the constant, lullaby of the waves crashing against shore was missing. There were no dolphins to play on the horizon, now gulls to squabble over meals, no seashells to crack beneath clumsy hooves. Instead, there were birds he had never heard of singing songs, the heavy scent of pine and dirt tickling his nose, and the dead grasses to crackle under his weight. Everything was so different. . .
While he had left the woods that his family was lingering in, Aurelian took his first peak at the open plains of the country. Instead of a sea of water, he was greeted by an endless mass of winter dried grass. He didn't realize the differences between winter and summer, but even in such ignorance, he was happy.
Giggling happily, the dual horned colt glanced behind him. He knew his father had told him not to wander far, but he couldn't rsist. There was an emptiness in the gentle hills of this empty world. With a sudden start, the young pink and blue, blood-stained colt suddenly jerked forward and took off in a run. He had no place to go, no direction. He just wanted to be free, to explore this land and see where it would take him. Maybe he'd meet a damsel worth rescuing, like in the stories, or find a fellow knight to do right nad good! Or a great enemy, one he would slay . . . .
Deluded visions danced in his head, even as he pushed his way through the grasses. So lost in thought as he peaked a small hill, he didn't even realize he was catching up very quickly to Vesper, ready to bound past her in reckless abandon and great joy. He'd never met another outside outside his family, and assumed that he was completely and utterly alone.
