Character name: Ion Nova
Race: Anthropomorphic Bird
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Class: Fighter
Description: Ion is a tall, 7'6" humanoid bird adorned with spectacular blue feathers. He has bluish-grey talons in place of feet, with sharp claws at the end of each toe, hind claw included. Ion's hands also sport the same natural defense of sapphire-coloured claws. His method of flight comes from the wings between his arms and hips, which can grant him airborne status for brief periods of time.
Ion's face resembles more of a bird than his once former human self. A wicked beak in a dull grey shade, yet he retains his humanoid eyes - a piercing hazel tone that tells you a library's worth of tales. A vertical scar across his left eyes breaks the monotonity, a permanent reminder of the battle he was never meant to lose. His blue feathers cover all other aspects of his face, as he is hairless.
To make flight easy Ion travels light - He carries a small satchel with essentials and his trusty sword.

Anything else: Ion was once a renowned master swordsman, champion of the human race. He would accept any and all challenges and made a successful living off of his seemingly unparalleled skill. He reigned for many years, even taking on commissions from lands far away to take down hostile threats borne of magic, weapons or politics.
About ten years ago he was sent out on a quest to defeat a powerful sorceress who was threatening to level an entire city for her own pleasure. Ion ventured out through the perilous and chilling Entark Forest in search of her lair. After a few days travel Ion had discovered the Sorceress' cave, high atop a mountain in the forest. He confronted many of her minions before encountering the Sorceress herself, and Ion emerged victorious from the arduous battle. However with her dying breath, she cursed Ion with a physical affliction, that crippled his defenses and left him weak and alone for about a month whilst his body twisted and changed into his now current avian form. When he regained strength enough to handle his new body, he left the lair and started life anew.
Although he retains his own identity, no one recognises him as a tall, blue-feathered bird-man. Subsequently because of his new physique Ion has lost some skill in his swordfighting, which leads strangers into thinking that he is some crazed fan of a legend that is no longer. Nowadays he continues a potentially endless search for a way to restore his old form and former glory. He has been told by a seer that a dragon has the power to grant such wishes, but getting on the friendly side of these beasts has proven to be his toughest challenge yet.
