Sihiri:
Sihiri knew she shouldn't. She had... had she promised not to look for him? Either way, she couldn't help tracking him back. She wanted to see what was under his pelt. She didn't think he was the monster he said he was, she didn't think he was deformed or diseased, at least he didn't smell wrong to her.
So she followed him back, hoping that he wouldn't notice her peeking.

Atticus:
The male had stripped off the heavy pelt, throwing it off of his back and laying it over a rock. He was pulling on each leg, making sure it stretched evenly so that the sun would warm it right. He felt naked without it, but at the same time, he felt secure. No one was around, he had left Sihiri back at hte water. His white pelt was brighter in the sunshine than the dark one, and it made him feel vulnerable. He needed this pelt dry, and quick. However his wants, were not always what happened. Sadly.

His belly was full, even if he hadn't really eaten any of the fish they had caught. He just wasnt getting hungry lately. He assumed it was the butterflies fluttering in his belly. Wait..Why did he have butterflies?

Sihiri:
There was plenty of cover for her to hide behind, she picked a large rock, lying low so that she could peek around it rather than over it. She could see Atticus' pelt drying on a rock but where was-
Her eyes fell on the male in question, though she could only see his back. What was supposed to be wrong with him, again? Because all she saw was a great big, mostly white lion. Her heart thumped hard in her chest as she stared at him with wide eyes, trying really hard not to sigh.

Atticus:
With his back to her, it showed his black stripe trio along his back. He really wasnt deformed. He was a stunning creature, but he didn't see it that way. If he had been stunning, why had he been shunned? He supposed him feeling the way he did was like one giant pity party yet he refused to do anything about it. He would live as he liked, and if anyone had issue, well.. They could tell them to him, and he was larger than most lions. He had a feeling theyd run and hide.

Once his pelt was stretched out approvingly, he stretched his front legs forward, stretching out his legs. It was nice to get a moment to breathe. It had been a wacky few days.

Sihiri:
He stretched and moved, showing off his form and gods was he attractive. He could certainly defend a territory and family, he had good physique by the looks of it, he would make a good mate to a lucky female. How had he ever gotten the idea he was ugly? Was it something in his face? Has the Swamplands disliked his colors or markings? Sihiri was in no way that picky. Well... if his colors had completely clashed with hers, maybe, but white and black? Nothing wrong with that, her mother was black and white after all.

She couldn't help it, a sigh escaped her. It was extremely soft, but she covered her mouth with a paw as soon as it left her muzzle.

Atticus:
He was well honed for catching thigns that didnt belong and he heard the soft sigh and his eyes widened as he perked and looked around. He had heard it, and he was wanting to find its source. When his eyes landed on the golden female, he almost flew into a rage. So now she had seen him! Not just with his pelt, but without, and he had asked her not to look at him the first time! He felt his blood boil and he ran at her though it was more in an angry front. He didn't want to hurt her..

"I told you to never look for me. I told you!!" He yelled, his voice a bellow that he would be surprised her mother didnt hear from far off.

His heart beat wildly in his chest. He was a monster and here she was having seen him. He almost could feel his skin itch.

Sihiri:
Sihiri fell back, eyes wide in fear. Stupid! How could she have been so stupid! He had told her and yet she couldn't help herself, she had to look and now... She had thought he'd never hurt her, but with the way he was yelling and coming at her like he was, she was terrified.

She stumbled back away from him a few steps, trying to mumble out an apology, but it wouldn't come. She was too afraid of what she had caused and what he might do before she could assure him he was gorgeous. She couldn't stay there, he needed to cool off, then she could tell him, but not now, oh gods not now. Or maybe he would never forgive her. What if he threatened her every time he saw her?
Well, she could deal with that later, right now her first instinct was to run and that's what she did, away from him, away from the waterfall, fast towards the mouth of the valley.

Baridi'vijicho:
Clever ears perked up at the sound of a yell and a silver tongue licked bloodied lips. Baridi'vijicho lifted his head from the broken, gory, moaning mess of a jackal he'd been eating. The poor creature would die from blood-loss soon, but the insane leotah had taken every bit of pleasure he could out of eating it alive, even if he had to be quick about it and couldn't savor it. But that yell, could he be so lucky? He closed his eyes and relaxed, ignoring the shuddering mass beneath his paw. His silver eyes opened, clouded and unfocused as he Saw his future. A lioness, running in fear. Oh, yes, that was what he needed. After that b***h of a cousin got away from him, he needed something to make him feel better.

She was perfect.

Atticus:
He had seen the fear in her eyes. He had noted that smell of terror that radiated off of her. He had scared her, and part of him liked it. She was running from him, and maybe it was for the better. Seeing her dart off, he stopped moving, but he roared a loud, thundering roar of anguish and anger. It was a roar he hadn't used in a long, long time. He felt it even in his toes. But once the roar was over and he stopped to breathe, he realized that he had done something terrible.

He ran after her, though he was slower due to his extra size. He hoepd he could catch her. He hadn't meant to go and run her off. He even was after her without his pelt. That was a step int he right direction but still..he felt vulnerable.

"Sihiri.." He said breathlessly

Sihiri:
She ran, faster and faster. Was he chasing her? She couldn't tell. That roar had sent shivers down her spine. Had she read him wrong? Would he hurt her if he caught her? Would he-
Her thoughts were cut off as something heavy landed on her back and pinned her to the ground partially on her side. She felt claws digging into her throat and cried out in pain and terror as a rough tongue licked her cheek.

Baridi'vijicho:
He knew where she'd come, he'd waiting in a tree, waited for his chance, and pounced. The lioness was bigger than him, but he knew how to subdue them. If she moved, he would tear into her sensitive, lovely neck. Baridi would do that anyways, but she didn't know that.
"Move and I'm afraid I'll have to spoil all the fun and tear your throat out," he cooed at her, rubbing his cheek against hers. Ah, so soft, he would love sleeping on her pelt.

"Lover's spat? Are you all alone, my sweet? You cried for him, I can see the tears in your eyes. Would you cry for me?" He nuzzled her ear. "Scream for me?"
The hybrid dug claws deep into her shivering side and shuddered when her cry left her maw.

Atticus:
He hadn't gone far, before he could hear her scream. It infuriated him, giving him a burning feeling in his gut that was murderous. He felt his legs push him on faster, his breathing going in puffs and growls. He had never pushed himself so hard before, but he knew he needed to get there, and needed to get there now.

He ran a good while before he saw the pale hybrid bending over Sihiri's body. At first he wondered if she lived, but her cries of pain were enough to tell him she was very much alive. He snarled, lunging without thought at the hybrid, knocking his body away from her. And putting his own huge self in between the two.

"If you are looking to harm someone, I suggest you try starting with me." He growled.

Sihiri:
Gods, it hurt so much. She wasn't sure what hurt her more, the pain this creature was inflicting on her or the fear that the real monster might cut her young life short and Atticus would go on thinking he was hideous and her mother would never know what happened to her. Her eyes closed as she whimpered and screamed, claws dragging deep furrows in her side.

Suddenly there was a snarl and the weight was gone and she crawled away, eyes wide as she saw her hero put himself between her and the mad creature. She let out a sob of relief, but still did her best to crawl away.

Baridi'vijicho:
What the hell!
Why was it always happening like this?! He hated prince charmings! Pich, his b***h-cousin's mate, and now this! Why couldn't he meet a nice lady he could torture and devour without some would-be rescuer coming and ruining his day?

Baridi rolled away after being shoved, jumping back up quickly and backing away, a mad, feral grin on his features.
"Aw, and the fun was just getting started," he sneered, licking some of the female's blood off his paw. His eyes rolled a bit and he shuddered; it tasted of fear and death.
"Keep an eye on your toy, I know I will." His words had every bit of sinister honesty as his eyes refocused and he turned tail and ran. He may not have had the power of a lion or even a leopard, but his speed was rival to that of any cheetah.

Atticus:
"Step foot near her again hybrid and that will be the very last step you ever take. I promise." His voice was even..almost calm. Though it was obvious that he was not one to be messed.with. He would rip out your throat and wear the skin as a hat.. He took.a running leap at the hybrid when he turned to run. It was as if he was chasing him off and perhaps that was what Atticus wanted. He turned his head his blue eyes showing worry. "Sihiri.. Are you okay?"He asked his voice wavering uncertainly.

Sihiri:
Sihiri's ears were back and she was sobbing quietly. The hybrid had gouged tracks in her side and there were small trickles of blood from her neck. With the hybrid gone, she finally let out a tiny whimper, closing her eyes when Atticus looked to her.
"I'm sorry, I-I'm so sorry," she whimpered, opening her eyes again to narrow slits of pain, locked on his face. She didn't want to look away he was her hero and she didn't want him to think for one moment that she couldn't bear to look at him.

Atticus:
Atticus sighed. Stepping closer to her he leaned into her. Being gentle he offered his comfort. He knew she was still strong and she could walk. But he didnt want to rush it. She had been through something terrible. "There is no reason to be sorry." He responded. Sure it was hard being as kind as he wanted to be.. But the soft tone was proof enough that he was trying.

Sihiri:
"No! I shouldn't, have followed. I'm so-sorry, I just... You don't know..." Her words were broken by small, pained sobs. She curled against him snuggling for comfort. She wanted to leave, she wanted to go somewhere safe, curl up, and flee the pain into sleep. But that wasn't fair, she was just supposed to get away for a little bit and then come back and tell Atticus about what she saw. She had to tell him, in case she lost consciousness.

"You're... not deformed or diseased. A lioness'd be lucky to have you as her mate..." she finally said giving him a weak smile. Stand up, she told herself. They needed to get away from here, and she was much to heavy for him to carry. Well, he'd done it before, but... She tried to stand, but it hurt.

Atticus:
When she tried to stand he was there at her side to support her. He didnt want her to fall and injure herself further. She needed rest. Suddenly he found himself wishing he lived in the jungle to find things that could make her happy. "I have lived a short yet turmoiled life. I am no catch. But dont you worry. He wont hurt you again.." Damn it.. He was a damned coward.

Sihiri:
She wanted to collapse from strain and frustration, but instead she just leaned against him rather heavily. Nothing, there was nothing she could do to make him see, was there? No matter how hard she tried to show him she didn't mind him with the pelt, he'd still been uncomfortable, unbelieving. She doubted there would be any way to make him see what she saw.

A choked sob left her throat as they started walking back towards... home.
"You, you don't even have any scars. I'll probably, will you still think I'm as beautiful as you said?" Sihiri's words were slow, her voice strained as she spoke. Would he understand after that?

Atticus:
He thought about what she said.. And he was silent for a moment. Taking a deep breath he didnt look at her when he spoke. Instead he looked ahead but his pace was slow and easy. "Sihiri.. You of all.. Should know that scars dont have to be visible. Mine are all inside. Scarring my heart and mind. My scars cut so deep that yours will pale in conparison.. But to answer your question.. Yes. Id still find you beautiful regardless." He said and his voice was strong. Yet there was a kind tone to it.

Sihiri:
She walked with him, listening as she knew her wounds were darkening the pristine white of his side. He was so much bigger, stronger than she was. How could she ever begin to imagine the pain he must feel?
"I won't look at you without your pelt again, if you don't want... if you'll even let me s-see you after... after this... I'm sorry, Atticus," she said softly, her eyes fixed on the ground as she made every effort not to get tangled up in her paws and fall. Tears still streaked down her cheeks, but her sobs had quieted down to small whimpers and shudders, as if her body knew that crying out wouldn't stop the pain and had given up.

Atticus:
He sighed and looked down at her while he spoke. "I imagine seperating myself from you now would do more harm than good.. Youve seen me.. Whats done is done." He said softly. He didnt mind that the blood was marring his fur. It was her blood and so long as she was alive and with him... He would bear any stain for her. He heard her cries of pain and it made him grit his teeth..oooh if he ever saw that hybrid again....

Sihiri:
Sihiri stopped walking for a moment and pressed her face into his neck. She thanked all of the gods she knew while she breathed in his strong, heady scent. He wouldn't leave her, through all the pain she smiled against his fur, nuzzling it as she shook a bit. It was hard to tell if it was from pain or from elation, maybe a mixture of both.

It took a moment before she could move her face away and start walking again.

Atticus:
When she nuzzled into his neck, he stiffened a bit, but slowly eased. He liked her there, really he did, even if he really had no way to actually tell her. He was sure he would screw it all up, and so he wasn't going to risk it. But he knew he never wanted to be away from her.

He knew the area rather well, and so rather than walking her back all the way home he had managed to get lucky. Finding an empty den, he decided to take shelter there for a few days.

"Until you are better.. This will be home, I guess." He didn't want to push her too hard, and he felt the walk all the way home would do just that.

Sihiri:
She wanted to collapse when they reached the den, but she knew that was a bad idea. Too heavy a fall to the ground and she might tear her wounds even more. So instead, she eased herself slowly to the den floor and let out something between a sigh and a shudder.
"If you're here, it's perfect." The words were out before she had a chance to stop them. A small, embarrassed smile found its way onto her maw despite the pain and the wooziness she was starting to feel. She had lost a lot of blood, but she'd survive. At least, she hoped so.

Sihiri curled around and took a few things out of her pouch, wincing from the pain as she did so. A bowl carved crudely with claws out of wood, some herbs she'd gathered, a couple of flowers, some grass. She put them all in the bowl and started slowly crushing them together. After a moment, her head drooped and her eyes closed, though her breathing remained steady.
"I can't... reach." She glanced up, then, surprisingly having enough blood left in her to darken the white markings on her cheeks, her eyes peeking through the now-wild tuft of fur on her head. "Could you clean my side? It'll hurt too much if I try..."

Atticus:
He felt nervous about the closeness. So much so that he almost squeaked at her request. Gulping down the much less masculine sound he nodded. Her wound was metallic tasting and he did his best to clean them. He spent a few minutes cleaning her side before nuzzling her cheek gently.

Sihiri:
Sihiri flinched a few times while he cleaned the wounds. It still hurt so much, but she was doing everything she could to keep a brave face on. She was sure he wasn't happy over her pain, he had been so strong and determined when he had shoved that monster off of her.
He nuzzled her cheek and it felt so... right. She wanted him so much, to be there when she needed him and especially when she didn't. She wanted to be the healer, to soothe the wounds in his heart that she couldn't even begin to understand.

Her wound was clean now, but it still hurt. She wouldn't be able to apply the salve, either. A sigh left her and she looked to her hero once more.
"I'm sorry... But could you rub this over the cuts, too? It'll help them heal..."

Atticus:
He grunted but took the salve without speaking. Theyre were bordering on dangerously close and it took everything.for him to push that fear aside. He had never been so afraid of amyone before and here he was afraid of this beautiful golden lioness.. "Im sorry if it hurts."

Sihiri:
"It's okay. There's a numbing plant in there, too. It won't hurt for very long..." She replied, laying her head on her paws. Sihiri wanted to curl up next to him, to fall asleep with his paw around her. But she knew he wouldn't let her. He was having a hard enough time just touching her to help treat her wounds. It sort of hurt, thinking that there was something so strong keeping him from her. Or maybe he didn't care for her like she did for him. Her heart sank as she closed her eyes. Already she felt the pain begin to fade.

"Thank you... I owe you my life again." She had to wonder, was her heart a fair trade?
