After Christmas sales were…well, they were wonderful. Especially when you got money for Christmas that you could then spend at the sales. Yes, money and spending it were great things to be able to have and do. Raven, well, she did get some money, and she was intending to spend most, if not all of it today at the mall, buying whatever discounted things that she could.
She was on the road driving there, when she saw something…someone that looked slightly familiar walking down the sidewalk. Wasn’t…that the new boy from the Christmas party? That new member of their DMC family…Grant, or something.
She slowed down and rolled down her window, leaning out and flashing a smile. “Hey there, Grant! Fancy seeing you here. Going anywhere special today? Or just out for a walk?”
Maybe she could get herself some company for this shopping trip. That would be nice. It was always more fun to spend money when someone could see what you were buying!

Grant had been asked by one of his friends to brave the sales for them. maybe they weren't as good of friends as Grant thought, but he was more than happy to stand in whatever lines he was told to, picking up whatever items they had listed, to be paid back 'later'.
The thought that he might be getting taken advantage of did not occur to him. Again.
He had some heavy bags with him as he was walking toward the next destination, but his face was happy an he was enjoying the experience despite being shoved and yelled at more than he had on any other singular day in his life.
"Oh, hello!" He searched his mind for the right name from the party, but he couldn't catch it. He looked a little guilty beneath his smile. "I'm sorry, I can't remember your name." It wasn't his fault: he had met a lot of people that night. Still, he was very glad to see her again, one on one now. "My friend asked me to pick up a couple of things for him, so here I am! Are you out shopping as well? It seems like everyone is!"

She gave a little laugh then nodded. “I’m Raven, do you want a ride? Those bags look pretty heavy.” Raven unlocked the doors to her car then shook her head. “Yeah, I’m heading out shopping, would you care to join me? Then I can take you back to your place so you don’t have to walk so far with those bags.”
The blonde really hoped that he would say yes…but judging by his very friendly demeanor, she almost figured there wasn’t much of a chance that he would say no. Score.
“I promise I’m not some creeper or anything like that. Honest. Quinn and Lydia can vouch for me with that. We went shopping before Christmas, so…they know I’m not some crazy girl who likes to attack people or anything.”
Well, at least now he’d be thinking something along those lines. Sometimes it was just better to keep your mouth shut, at least regarding things like this.

Grant smiled brightly at her offer.
"Thank you! That's very nice of you. I really appreciate the offer, and I'd love to keep you company! I'm pretty good at carrying bags, too, so if you need me to, I can do that in repayment." He chuckled, though he did mean it. If she was going to give him and his things a ride later, the least he could do was carry her bags while they were wandering around the stores. Assuming she got more, though since they were here to shop he felt safe in assuming that.
He blinked at her, almost like he didn't know what the word creeper meant.
Though, he had been called it a few times.
"I didn't think you were crazy or going to attack me, but I'm glad you cleared that up! Now I know you won't, which is nice." He nodded his head a few times, then glanced at her car again, though he had seen it before as they were fairly difficult to miss. "You have a nice car!" he said, eyes warm and bright and optimistically sunny on a day when most people were already annoyed and ready to go home.
Shopping was a rough occupation.

Raven laughed, then nodded. “Well, hop in, then and we can get this party started.” She was really eager to talk to this guy, maybe try to figure out more about what he was bringing to the team. What Senshi was he? She thought it had been mentioned once..maybe, but then again, so many things had happened over the holiday, it was no wonder she had forgotten.
“Maybe we can talk about setting up a patrol and energy gathering stuff on the way to the store or something. I need to start hanging out with you guys more while…you know. We’re powered up and all that jazz.”
Well, not that she had had all that much trouble with any of the White Mooners…not really. Most of what she had seen so far had only reinforced her idea that they were really on the stronger side of everything.

He nodded his head and followed directions, getting into the car. It was good that he was an adult male and she was not a creepy kidnapper, or he might have agreed to the promise of puppies and candy in the back of a windowless van.
Especially if the puppy needed help. It wasn't safe to keep it near candy.
"I would like that! I need a little help with patrolling and all that, I'm sure."
Mostly because he had been told that.
He nodded his head. It would be nice to go out on patrol with people who knew what they were doing and could show him how to do it as well. He was sure he wanted to help them all, as he was directed to do and because he had to return the debt he had taken on by being awakened in the first place. He wouldn't be here, after all, if he didn't have a purpose to serve.
And he would do his best.
"Do you like patrolling?" he asked conversationally.

Raven began to drive and nodded at his admitting he needed help patrolling. “Well…do I like it.” Now that was a loaded question. Sometimes she really did like it, and sometimes…it just felt like a boring waste of her time…but, she wasn’t going to tell him that.
“I like being powered up, at the very least. I love my outfit. And my boots. Always my boots.” Now that was something she loved to gush about. How many times had she just stopped her patrolling and looked at herself in the mirror? It was a wonder she wasn’t the senshi of vanity or something.
“By the way. I’m also known as Lesath, senshi of moths, just so you know if we ever run into one another out on patrol by accident.”
He was really nice. All of this was decided at once, and she could see why Lydia was dating him. He must have been as nice as Jett was jerky. Hm. Well, to each his own, she supposed.
“What do you think you need the most help with on patrols? Just…getting the feel for your powers and stuff?”

Grant laughed and nodded his head.
"I'm sure you look really good in your boots! I would love to see them some time." He nodded his head, meaning it literally. He was not much for flirting, particularly now that he had a girlfriend, but the whole concept had been foreign to him anyway. No, he didn't flirt. He just said things he was thinking, as he was thinking them.
And they were always nice things.
"And I'm Virtus, Senshi of Kindness," he said, with a little blush. He didn't see the irony in his sphere. Mostly because he didn't know that their team were often considered 'bad guys'. But either way, they could still be kind, so it didn't really matter in the end.
"Well, I don't really know how to... do anything!" he laughed and shook his head. "But I'm sure I'll get it! I've had a couple people help me, but there's always more to learn, right? I just would like to see how other people do their patrols... maybe I could get some hints?" So far, his method of asking people if he could borrow some of their energy hadn't worked out. Of course, he only used it once so far and had managed to find a Negaverse agent in the process, but hey.

Raven glanced over to grant, raising a brow for a moment, then laughed. She could get used to compliments like that. Jett only handed them out when the thought he was in trouble…albeit he normally was in trouble at that point. Maybe she’d make it a point to hang out with Lydia and Grant more often, girl time and compliments. What could be better.
When he said he sphere, she tilted her head. Senshi of kindness…well, that could possibly work for them, to be honest. “Kindness, hm? That’s pretty cool. Really abstract though. I like it. And it suits you from what I’ve seen of you so far.”
She was somewhat impressed that he was asking for help so easily…she was much to proud to do that. She never minded giving help, even when not asked…but asking for it, that just seemed…
Well, you didn’t make cheerleading captain by asking how to do something. You had to tough it out and learn yourself. “Well, I suppose…why don’t you and I set up some day to go patrol? Maybe Lydia can join us, and it can be a group thing? I haven’t gotten to really do any patrolling with her, so that might be fun from that aspect too! Really the only one of us that I’ve interacted with in powered form was Jett, and that was for some…date thing to the museum. Which was fun, don’t get me wrong, but…not really…training related.”

"Thank you! I'm sure it fits pretty well."
He chuckled. It seemed almost like a cheat, having something that came so naturally to him be his sphere, but he supposed that it was chosen for him for that reason,and he was always meant to be this senshi. He had just not known it until that beautiful Queen and the cute cat had made him aware of it.
"That sounds fun! I'm sure she would like doing that, too. We don't have to do a date thing, we'll do the training thing instead." He chuckled, "though you could always bring Jett and we'll double date train!"
His face made it clear that he wasn't be facetious. It did sound like fun, and they would do a lot of good as a big group, wouldn't they? It seemed reasonable to him, anyway.

Raven nodded, laughing. “I’ll talk to him about that! That really sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Nobody would be able to mess with us then, that’s for sure!” She was glad this guy he become one of their group and not one of the White Mooner’s stupid…pawns. That would have been a sad ending, and doubly sad for Lydia.
“Well…I suppose, Welcome to the Dark Mirror Family, Grant. That’s the best welcome I can give, but I really mean it. I’m happy to have you in our group.”
She pulled into the parking spot in front of the mall and looked to him. “Now that I’m getting to know you…there’s just..all those others that I need to get to know! I’m sure I’ll meet everyone someday.”
The blond turned the car off and stretched. “Well, let’s head into the madness. Maybe this can be the first part of our training. How to not die in a large stampede of people trying to get items on sale, hm?”
She had been right. Shopping was going to be more fun with someone there with her.

Grant chuckled and nodded his head. Not that anyone would want to mess with him. It was like picking on a stuffed animal. Or a cookie.
Not that he hadn't been messed with before, he just hadn't seen it coming. And that was where he got his scar. Apparently there was no lesson learned there, though.
"Thank you! I appreciate the welcome, and it was very good! I'm really glad to be in the group, too."
And he meant it. He had never been part of something like this before. He even had a hard time joining established groups of friends, let alone something as close knit and strong as this seemed to be. This stood for something: they served a purpose. it was something he had always wanted, and he felt like he could help people in a new, and better, way.
He moved to get out of the car and hurried around the vehicle to get the door on her side for her. He basically leaped out of his seat while she was warning him not to die, and of course he had nearly fallen doing it. But he got to her door and held it politely, all smiles.

Raven hadn’t been expecting this, and stared blankly at Grant for a moment, before laughing and getting out of the car. “Well, you really are a gentleman, thank you very much for that.”
She waited for him to shut the door once again, then clicked the button that would lock the doors. The blonde turned towards the mall and drew in a breath, shivering slightly in the cold air. Grant was a good guy. Her opinion was completely formed now, and she figured it wouldn’t change unless he really pulled a one eighty personality wise.
The girl glanced to the male and nodded towards the mall. “Come on. Let’s go start this adventure.”
