Bringing her torso close to the ground, Ezili stretched out her claws, letting out a yawn. It was such a warm day, and she felt like she had really done absolutely nothing since waking up. In fact, she had been walking so slowly that she could still see the place where she had decided to sleep. In all fairness, she really should've expected this. Ever since she left her family, days like this had become much more frequent, and she had only really met someone once. Sometimes, it was hard for her to even find the energy to go and hunt. Not that she was really very good at it; most days she would just end up with a rabbit, or picking off pieces of someone else's leftovers. More often than not she would up questioning her decision to leave her family, with her reasons and consequences just spinning round and round in her head.

At this point, though, she had to live with her decision. There was no going back, anyway. They probably wouldn't even still be there, and she couldn't bear facing her parents again. Part of it made her really sad to think about, but she tried to focus on the future, rather than the past. Who knows, maybe she could meet someone and start a family of her own. Wouldn't that be dreamy?

Hooves stamped, stirring up the dust of the Savannah as a silver streak flashed across the stupid beasts field of vision. He was on the hunt, having tracked the largest herd possible for most of the day. Most would have picked off the weakest link and been happy with that, but not he. Plo had goals. He wanted to fight tooth and nail to gain his prize. How else would he keep his body in such wonderful shape?

Flicking his eyes back at the crowd he focused his sights on the leader, a large wildebeest with eyes like fire. He would prove to be a great match, however he wouldn't be the one to win. The horns on his head may be strong, long and sharp, but his hooves and legs were FAR too clumsy to outmaneuver his fleet steps. Darting out from the tall grasses he had been running through, Plo quickly lashed out at the group, tightening the frightened herds circle further. Taunting them. In doing so, Plo noticed a couple of the feint of heart break away from the group.

"NO YOU DON'T!"

Dashing at the two that were attempting to leave the herd, he quickly swiped at one of them, scaring the other to move back in with the crowd as the other that had been struck backed up and reared. Would it really try to strike him?! "Go for it." His voice almost purred as he stared the wildebeest down.

As the body of the beast came crashing down towards Plo, he moved, barely dodging the strike. He would have to be more careful. Growling and hissing his warning, the other herd members took the opportunity to flee. How dare they. Jerking his head back to face his opponent, he struck at its face. As the wildebeest jerked away, Plo took another shot, this one hopefully being the finisher.

Launching his body full force at the beast, Plo took its neck and hugged it in a death grip. It would fall. It had to fall. This wasn't his target after all. Digging his claws fully into the flesh of the beast, his powerful jaw jerked the body down, continuing the hold until he felt the body seize up. There it was, but this was no time to be happy, he had to give chase to the herd that was now stampeding down the Savannah. Jerking his body up, Plo dashed forward, giving chase to what he was sure would be a great kill.

So long as no one gets in mine or the herds way I will have the meal of a king.

Stuck in her own head, Ezili’s mind just went around in circles with her thoughts. They were always the same, and they always brought the same feelings. She hated how she had felt as a cub; that resentment, that anger towards her family. They were all feelings that she wished she could’ve ignored, or discarded. She wanted nothing more than to have just thought the world of her parents, and accepted everything they did and believed in. Unfortunately, that had never been the case. When she was young, there had only been one other that could make her feel better about her decisions – a male that was already an adult when she was just a small cub. He had seen so much of the world, and experienced so much, and there she was, complaining about small issues. After they met, she had always dreamed of seeing him again; he was someone that she wanted so badly to be a part of her life. But it had all happened so long ago, that she doubted that he’d be anywhere near her. It was unfortunate, but she knew that she’d probably never see him again. She often wondered what he was doing, and what he ended up doing with his life.
Lost in thought, Ezili didn’t even notice the ground start to rumble. She had been staring at her paws, sluggishly moving along across the savannah. As she walked, though, she caught sight of a small rock, trembling on the ground. Tilting her head to the side, she moved in closer, quite fascinated with it. As she crouched, her blue eyes zoomed in on it, and she thought it was probably one of the funniest things she’d seen in a while. After a few moments of watching, she barely caught a glimpse of a large brown amoeba growing larger and larger with every second. Quite perplexed, she stood, squinting her eyes to try and figure out what exactly it was that she was looking at. Eyes widening quickly with her sudden realization, Ezili could feel her legs tremble for a moment. She had never been all that fond of ‘big game’ and she was definitely not fond of the idea of an entire herd of them running at her. Almost in a panic, her eyes darted back and forth, searching for an exit strategy. She had never really been all that good at thinking on her feet, and now she really seemed to be stuck. She didn’t want to turn and run, since she knew she wouldn’t be able to keep it up forever. But right now, with the herd within yards of her, it seemed like the only thing to do.
Moving her paws slowly at first, she felt a burst of energy hit her, and she started running. She grinned as she looked back, seeing the herd get farther and farther away from her. The only problem with that was that Ezili had never been good at running without looking. Feeling her paw hit a rock, Ezili flew through the air, skidding across the ground as she hit it. Instinctively, she curled up into a little ball, tucking her tail and paws in underneath her body, waiting until it all passed.
