Kya walked into the room. She looked at the board on the wall and saw the names of her roommates. "Oh. Cool." she said. Walking around, she noted there were only two rooms. With a wicked giggle, she ran into the bedroom with only one bed. She set down her bags and looked around. It was plain, but nice. She sighed and put her clothes in one drawer. She missed Carter already. After finishing putting the clothes in the drawers, she lay down on the bed.

Kya looked at where the voice came from. Seeing that no one else was there, she got up and wandered to the other room. She saw a girl standing by one of the beds, and she sighed. A roommate was here. "Hello. Yes, I'm Kya. I'm guessing you're Kasumi?" She said, walking into the room and perching on the second bed. "I guess we're stuck here for a while, yeah?" Kya joked, trying to loosen the tension in the room.

"I... Sorry." Kya said, shocked as she got up and moved to the other side of the room. "Umm... Well..." Kya searched for somehing to say. She couldn't find nything but probably the worst question to ask. Better than nothing at all! one side of her mind thought. Bu the other side protested, yelling that it would make things worse. This girl already disliked her, and apparently for no reason, why make it worst. She inhaled and said it anyway. "Umm, so, I was wondering... why are you here?" She exhaled quickly, glad to have it out of her. She grabbed the back of her dress and pulled it down, twitching nervously.

Kya smiled, but her shoulders sagged. "Oh. That's cool." She said cheerfully, trying to cover the fact that she was a little disappointed that this girl, Kasumi, didn't have any powers like hers. "I came here with my best friend. She's like my sister. I couldn't imagine living a day without her. I wonder what the new roommate will be like. When is she getting here? Have you seen the student population? This place is huge!" She rambled on. Then she realized what she was doing and blushed. "Sorry, I ramble when I'm nervous." Kya apologized. She bit her tongue to keep from talking.

Kya smiled. "It's okay." she said, noticing Kasumi's hands clenched together. "If you're going to fake your attitude, how are we really ever going to get along?" She said. "I'm not going to fake not being angry for your sake. So don't fake it for mine. Plus, you'll just blow up later." She said, a kind smile on her face. "If you want me to leave, just ask." She slid down the wall and sat with her knees pulled up to her chin, arms around her calves. "Go ahead. I'm not stupid, so don't try and lie and say that you're not angry, or you have nothing to let out."

Kya smiled. "Okay, deal. Sooo... do you know anyone that goes here?" She asked, slowly crossing the room and taking place in front of Kasumi's bed. "I know my friend, Carter, and you. That's about it." She said, smiling easily. A new friend. That's what she needed.

Kya smiled. "We should go find some people to meet. I don't know. Are you hungry?" She said, grabbing Kasumi's wrist and pulling her towards the kitchen.
