He'd called Harmony the day before, to find out when she was next working, he had something he wanted to give her. He'd told her, over the phone, that he'd gotten her something for Christmas and wanted to give it to her before Christmas. He hadn't mentioned why, that it might come in handy and he preferred being early with gifting as opposed to late.
It turned out she was working the next day so he had told her he'd be dropping by, he hadn't given an exact time as he didn't know and things did come up. It was one of those things at this time of year, any and everything seemed capable of happening...including attacking christmas trees. He still couldn't get over being attacked by a decorated tree that had up until it's decision to attack everyone had been quite attractive looking. Clearing his head of those thoughts he pushed the door open to the coffee shop.
A clothing box was held at his side, wrapped in paper covered in shiny green holly with bright shiny red berries. A bow and a name tag adorned the wrapped gift. "Harmony..." Calling as he looked around, hoping she'd hear him before he found her amongst all the people seated and milling about. It seemed the cold weather had brought all the people here for a hot drink, no surprise really. Hot drinks were nice this time of year, he had a thing for curling up in his room with hot chocolate himself and watching the snow fall from his window. It was a simple thing but something very relaxing, and that was why it was such a habit.

"Alex!"
She smiled to see him, immediately stopping whatever it was she was doing to go greet him. Never shy with her affection he was subjected to a long hug and a kiss on the cheek. This time of year made Harmony especially happy and bouncy. She liked the lights and the smiles on everyone's faces and the fact that she could watch the snow swirling outside the big windows in the front of the shop wasn't so bad, either. When nights were slow she'd brew up tea for everyone and they'd all kick back for a few minutes watching it and laughing together.
She saw the package in his hands and blushed, taking it and handing him a somewhat smaller box in exchange. The box she handed him was long but not so wide and was wrapped in a white paper with pale blue snowflakes. She thought he'd appreciate the delicate color scheme and had opted to make the bow her statement, Bright blue positioned where the ribbon had overlapped when she wrapped it long and crossways. Inside was an Eddie Bauer scarf she thought he'd find handsome. It was a pretty green with light red streaks running through it. It had been a chance find for her but it was beautiful and she knew it was for him immediately.
Wrapped in the scarf was a small photo frame, 5x7, with one of her photos inside. A boy at a distance was in it standing on a hill next to a tree, his coat blowing in the breeze. She'd taken it a while ago and hadn't known what to do with it. The tree was still full of leaves but she'd washed the color and made it black and white. The only thing that made the boy in the photo any different from Alex himself was that the hair was shorter and dark and the boy was a bit taller. Even she looked down to her friend being two full inches taller than him at a mere 5'6.
"Merry Christmas, Alex. Where have you been hiding?"

One hand was free, the other was busy holding her gift at his side, so a one armed hug would have to suffice for the green haired girl. A kiss to the cheek was also bestowed upon her, a proper way to greet someone and a way to greet someone he was close to. He had spent enough time with her since their first meeting, enough time to consider them close. A glance around, over her shoulder, told him the place was decorated for the holiday season, really no surprise, but it looked nice really.
"Thank you Harmony, you didn't have to get me anything." Though he knew she would, without a doubt. Clueless as to what lay inside he motioned to a table. "Perhaps we'd best sit while we open these." Rather than stand and get paper everywhere and have to balance the box with one hand and open with the other in some awkward manner. It was easier to sit, in his opinion, and so he made for a table, figuring she'd follow, and pushed a chair otu for her before plopping himself into a chair.
"I've been hiding at my friends, since I moved in with her shortly after Halloween. I've been moving in properly and bouncing between he-our home and my parents. The holidays have been trying, moving between houses in order to fulfill the normal family traditions and yet also decorate for my first Christmas living outside of my parents home." Not to mention Christmas shopping, though he'd done it all online this year. He simply hadn't had the time to go out and do all the shopping he'd had to do, the only shopping he'd actually done in person was that secret santa for a fellow Negaverse agent.
"Thank you Harmony." Inside the box Alexandre had a folded coat, a large - long - trench coat by Burberry and even one of their famous cashmere check scarfs. It was the time of year where keeping warm was a needed thing but one also needed to stay fashionable, hence what he'd gotten for her. "I do hope you like what I got you." Tucked inside was the gift receipt, in case the size of the coat was too big, he'd tried to guess that.

"Oh, Alex!"
It was impossible to restrain the emotion in her voice when she saw the beautiful coat and the scarf to go with it. It was all very classic looking and chic, nothing like Harm's usual loud and often provocative style. Perhaps he'd be a good influence on her this way, toning her down to a manageable place. She stood and slipped the coat on, belting the waist around her own small frame and wrapping the scarf around her neck. For him and for cashmere she'd make an exception to her usual style. Besides, it was beyond beautiful and she felt perfect in it.
And now her gift felt very very small indeed.
"Alex." she repeated, a little overwhelmed. It must have cost him quite a bit. Instead of trying to put it into words she hugged him tightly. She forgot about the rest of the coffee shop around them. It was a nice moment between them and she was happy to have a friend like him. Not one to spend money on her, of course, she wasn't that type of a person (though it was nice she had to admit) but someone who was thoughtful and she cared for immensely.
"I love it!"
She listened to him explain about his new housing situation, envying his freedom. While she wasn't quite ready to be that grown up she did like the idea of being away from her mother and being able to do as she pleased. She realized, though, that Alex probably didn't feel the same way about his parents. It wasn't necessity that drove him away, it was simply time. She sighed softly, imagining her own life on her own. She'd live charmingly bohemian if she had her way: just her art and herself.
Thankfully the staff let them have their moment. She was due a break, anyway.

He had worried about her liking the coat, he wasn't sure if it would fit her usual style. But it was something which struck as classic and very fashionable, even in modern times. It was a piece which he felt would gain attention, get someone to look, it was just something he felt was perfect in an eye catching why like Harmony's loud fashion did only it grabbed attention in a different way. If she hung around him enough, or too much, she might be subjected to more of his fashion sense, he had a thing for the classic and European look as it was eye catching in sophisticated way.
Laughing he hugged her back, ignoring those in the shop around them. They should all be staring at Harmony and how good she looked presently. This wasn't said even though he held her back from him and moved to give her a spin in place.
It seemed the coat fit her, as he'd hoped it would. It didn't seem like she'd need to return it for a different size, he was glad actually. He wasn't always sure on sizes, especially not for females.
When he sat back down he went to unwrapping his own gift. Slowly as he watched Harmony, enjoying the process of gift opening and the suspense of seeing what was hidden from him within all the wrapping and packaging. The scarf was the first thing his attention went to, it was soft and a nice color as well. Smiling he lifted the garment and pressed his cheek to it while smiling up at Harmony. "It's lovely. Perfect for the holidays." Slate eyes swept down to the package and that was when they landed on the picture. The photo, framed, had fallen from the scarf when he'd lifted it from the box.
"It's perfect, I have been planning to ask for a photo of yours, I must get you introduced to someone else I've met." He really needed to, but how to find the other photographer? He'd work that out and get them to meet, he sort of liked to push people together who had common interests. "Thank you Harmony, it's perfect. They both are."

She grinned in pleasure as he complimented her gifts. She’d wondered, seeing the beautiful coat he got her. She still marveled at it and how nice it felt and how sleek and sophisticated she looked when she saw her reflection in the front windows of the shop. It was like a whole new Harmony and that wasn’t always such a bad thing. Her mom would certainly like his continued influence on her and her sense of fashion though she’d never complete transition to the whole Art Noir look he tended toward. Tailored and darkly colored simply wasn’t for her. She liked being spunky and quirky with her fashion.
“Oh?” she asked, looking at him in surprise.
She knew he wanted to introduce her to his best friend Lily but now a new person? She certainly did mind. He seemed to have good taste in people and she certainly enjoyed his company. Something must have made him think she’d like this new person for him to bring it up. Now she was curious and wanted to know more. Forgetting to fret about her gifts and how they didn’t seem good enough she leaned forward on the table and propped her chin on her hands.
“So…tell me about this person I need to meet.”
Harm couldn’t resist the thought of mingling with new people. She was a social butterfly at heart and liked being surrounded by people of any interest. Just common interests seemed to be more fun. It certainly wouldn’t hurt, anyway. But she had such an exuberant personality people either loved her or found her endlessly annoying. There didn’t tend to be an in-between.

That wasn't the name he used for his taste in clothing but that really was what his style was, and he didn't care if she never went for it fully. It still looked good on her, and it never hurt to have a little over everything in your closet if you could make it all work which he was sure Harmony could do. He himself stuck to his look, but he knew people who were loud and people who weren't. But the sophisticated yet edgy dark, European, look attracted him. He may copy it, a little, but not fully. It was simply how his taste ran.
"I met her at an art store, a while back...this summer. She's also into photography, mostly black and white I believe. Rather good as well. I did promise I would take her to a gallery, perhaps the three of us." He spoke, thinking of how busy he'd been lately. "She goes to Meadowview, like I do." Though it was a wonder he'd never run in to her. He knew if he wanted to he could check out volleyball.
"I don't know much, aside from she plays volleyball also. I took her out for coffee. But perhaps you two should meet."

"That sounds like fun."
Harmony was all for meeting new artists. She liked to be considered part of the artistic crowd and as yet hadn't been able to do anything like that with Alex. But she knew that's how he and her mom met and knew he liked that sort of thing so his suggestion wasn't all that surprising. She smiled and sat back down again, feeling the warm silken feeling of the cashmere scarf at her neck.
"We should do that. A new gallery show is opening next month. Sculpture, I think. Could you bear it?"
The gallery she was referring to was one of the more avant garde places in town. The sculpture would probably be modern and he'd probably hate them but Harmony liked experimental art. It appealed to her need for excitement. more than anything. Besides, though she knew Alex tended toward the classic styles she hadn't yet thought that perhaps that extended to art as well. Ah, well, it would be interesting to see, anyway. She was looking forward to it and that's what mattered.

"I think I could, at least if I have someone with me who I can properly speak to." Meaning someone he didn't have to hold his tongue for. He would give his honest opinion, regardless of who was around. They were only normal people, what could they do to him? He'd never dare open his mouth, and give a proper opinion, if it were someone he knew was a high up Negaverse officer. He knew his place there, but he doubted such would be the case.
"Perhaps your mother can come as well, another artistic mind would be nice to have around. And I can find a photo gallery showing and call Castille and arrange to go with her and have you come as well. You both can talk and enjoy yourselves while I look around and enjoy myself as well. Something nice, casual wear, I wouldn't subject either of you to something posh." He wouldn't subject them to the snobs and the proper attire. It would be unfair of him to assume either had proper clothing and could handle such a gathering of people.
Perhaps Alexandre would be the sort, when he crew up, to surround himself with those who were well read, thoughtful, and into the arts. Those who weren't sheep or the corporate types. He seemed to be headed that way. Surrounding himself already with money and the arts and such things.

Harmony wrinkled her nose indicating exactly what she thought of inviting her mother to the show. They may be closer now than they were but that by no means meant they were close. She still wanted to be considered separate by her friend, not an ordered pair with the older Rosen. It’s not exactly like the pair has a prayer of bleeding together in looks. Harmony made sure her quirky style was her own and her looks tended to nothing of her mother. She’d have dyed the emerald out of her hair long ago to further distance herself if she didn’t like the streaks so much.
“Maybe we can invite her next time?” she suggested lightly.
Harmony liked posh. She liked to pretend at being upper crust if surrounding yourself with something meant someday you would become it. She didn’t own anything brand name that would suffice as costuming but her mother was handy with a sewing machine and Harmony had her dress from Halloween she could use. It fit her well and flattered. But perhaps it was better to keep things light when you’re meeting someone for the first time.
“Whatever you want to do I’m ok with. I know you have good taste, Alex.”
Or did he prefer Alexandre? She’d never thought to ask. Not that it mattered now when Alex seemed to settle in as her standard greeting. She smiled at her companion, feeling happy that things were working out so well. This was becoming a good Christmas, which was nice cause Thanksgiving was kinda crappy this year what with the talking cats and Jett.
Castille, interesting name. Discussion topic number 1.

He figured something was up, Kyndall had mentioned not being so close with her daughter. Was that still the case? It seemed like it. So rather than push it he nodded, though he did want to have a good laugh over supposed art with. But he would wait and take Kyndall to something at another time, perhaps separate from anything with Harmony, two separate shows and neither with the other? It seemed like the best idea.
"Perhaps I'll schedule something just for your mother and myself. So my time with you both doesn't overlap."
Nodding his head he smiled gently. "Sounds good, I'll find a photography showing for you, Castille, and myself to go to." And perhaps paintings for Kyndall and himself, he didn't for one moment think it odd that he was spending time with an older woman or that she was a friends mother. It wasn't anything special, or abnormal, to him. If they had a common interest should age dictate that they not discuss and enjoy a shared interest?
"Perhaps I'll come over and go through your closet, help you come up with something casual to wear even. So consider it a day spent discussing fashion and sculptures. We can do the same if you, Castille, and I decide to go look at a photography showing." Two different plans, and dates, one with Harmony and himself and the other with Harmony, Castille, and himself.

"That sounds like fun, Alex!"
She was glad he understood that just because she looked like her mother didn't mean she wanted to be lumped in with the woman. They were close some days when they were home together and cuddled in front of the TV. Or in moments when they found something in common or a memory to bring them together for a few moments. But mostly Harm wanted to maintain her fierce independence. She'd learned her lesson in space. She'd always love and need her mother but she wasn't about to regress to full on home body for her sake.
Besides, she really liked that her mom was trying to date. It meant more time for herself and a little encouragement to do the same. If she could find a guy worth pursuing that actually liked girls. That seemed to be increasingly hard to find. She was beginning to mourn her luck. When he mentioned coming over to go through her closet she smiled. It sounded fun but rather like having another girlfriend. In fact, she found she began to think of Alex as being rather girly in spite of herself.
"That would be great, Alex. Really, I'd like that. Text me if you find a good show and we'll go through my closet to find just the right thing. I want to be totally artsy chic."
Cause, you know, changing in front of him no longer presented a challenge. He wasn't interested in anything she had and it wasn't like she was getting naked.

He had a lot of things to look in to, something for himself and Kyndall and something for the three of them plus for Castille and Harmony as well as himself. But the city was large and had a good art district and community. It wouldn't be too hard, just busy and time consuming to attend all these sorts of things. He supposed he was due some free time though ,eh had slowed down and took nights off so he could use those nights for this purpose, but he could also take an extra evening here or there for himself. It wasn't like there was a set number of evenings/days they needed to spend gathering energy.
"We'll see if you have a wardrobe that'll allow you to pull off the look, I should figure you do. If not we'll work around that and find something good for you to wear." A shrug of his shoulders as he glanced her over. It wasn't like she lacked figure or anything, she had no issues in that department - she could fit anything she'd want to wear.
While it presented her with no challenge it presented him with one, risking seeing a nearly nude female. But that could be ignored really, he could turn his head away easily.

"I'm sure we'll find something."
And if not they had to go shopping. Oh, dear, however would she manage?
Harm grinned at him, excited now but the prospect of spending more time together and feeling giddy on Christmas cheer. She stood up again and stretched, her new coat rippling over her body and making her feel like a Queen. This is part of why she loved him, his sense of taste. Not like her own but still good in spite.
She glanced over at the counter where the two other gals on shift with her were trying to pretend not to be watching but she could tell they were. She's spent too much time already, not having much more than ten minutes to begin with and the time had passed too quickly for it to be only that that she missed. She needed to get back to work and help them out or she'd be in trouble with her boss and she prided herself on being good at her job.
"I have to get back to work Alex, but call me?" She hugged him one last time. "Merry Christmas."

Returning the gesture, with a breif embrace and kiss to the cheek, Alexandre bobbed his head. "Of course, I'll give you a call soon." Though just when he wasn't sure, but he knew he'd be calling her soon. He had plans to make for them after all.
"Merry Christmas as well, and have a good day Harmony." A glance to the girls who had been staring at them, as he left, his slate eyed glancing both over for a breif moment. Jealous? Seemed like it, oh well he had things to do.
