It had been a year since she'd first met ********* and it was one of those memorable moments before she'd awakened as Sailor Chibi Hypnos. She could still remember meeting the tiny little tailless cat, questioning worriedly about why she had been sleeping in the snow and then taking her home with her. The manx had been "her first cat" and she had been sure to overfeed the cat with everything she'd been able to find in the kitchen. The cat had eaten everything, which probably should have been a surprise for the child, but instead she'd kept feeding her.

She could remember the sadness she felt when she'd woken up to find ********* gone after they'd gone to bed together but she was thankful that they'd met again. Several times, and the guardian cat had certainly saved her when she had been stuck as a kitten. She didn't know what she'd have done if ********* hadn't saved her that day and she really appreciated it. Luckily for *********, Ainsley was a human again and that meant one thing: it was time to find Santa Cat and reward her!

Gift in hand and the little santa hat she'd had the year before, the child went back to the park that she'd first met the cat in hopes to find her. Certainly it would have been simpler to just text the guardian cat with her senshi phone but the excitement of seeing her again was just overwhelming that the thought didn't even occur to her.

********* had a sore back. It made sense in all honesty, considering what she and her team had gone through recently. Fortunately, it healed up nicer than anticipated, which meant that the manx was completely mobile again.

Clearly, the cat had other things on her mind as she sat there along the sidewalk, glancing towards the baseball field was. That other evening had been complete chaos, the sort of utter hell one couldn't get out of she tried. The guardian had to watch as the girls (and boys) she loved pretty much get beaten to a pulp. It was quite haunting to think of such as she looked to the baseball field, but despite the tinge of nervous energy bottled up inside of her, the tailless animal kept that pleasant smile upon her maw.

The park had never been all that far from where Ainsley lived which had made taking Santa Cat home the first time so simple. It had only been a matter of time until she'd made her way back to the park and began her search, basket in tow. She started at the original place she had found the cat sleeping in the snow but thankfully, and a bit disappointing, the manx wasn't there. Ainsley was glad the cat hadn't been sleeping in the snow but she also had wished to find her right away.

She wasn't going to give up though, and eventually she stumbled upon the baseball field. It was pretty empty, but she couldn't find ********* there either. It was a pretty big field though, and it didn't help that the child was almost looking for a needle in a haystack. ********* was small, a light colour and she couldn't see nearly as far as she'd like to. She would have been delighted to know the cat was there, but as far as Ainsley knew: she wasn't. She kept going, humming softly as she stepped further away.

"Oh Santa Cat~~" Ainsley called out softly, a small skip in her step.

Maybe if she couldn't see the cat, the cat would hear her?

Someone had walked onto the field as her eyes gazed over it. It was just an observation that almost seemed to go unnoticed for a bit. In just one evening, the worlds for each and every member of her team had been turned upside down. ********* own life included. How could she ever expect to live up to guiding a...

"Oh Santa Cat~~"

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a playful invitation coming from the baseball field. Blinking her eyes open quite wide, the manx finally noticed the new company. It was a familiar voice, and it almost seemed as if this child had been expecting ********* presence. She couldn't help but pause to lift up a paw to sweep over the back of her head (as if grooming herself).

I didn't make arrangements for a meeting today, did I? Perhaps she was growing more absent minded in her "old" age. Shrugging off her own doubts, the round animal began to trot towards the field, her collar jingling the whole way. Of course, she did take a careful look about, as if to make sure no super strong youma were lurking today. There wasn't exactly a Holiday concert today, so it made plenty of sense why there would not be any today.

Which was lucky for Ainsley.

"You rang?"

Ainsley was about to give up and try another park when she could have sworn she heard the jingle of Santa's sleigh in the air. Her legs paused and she took a step back, her eyes knee on the sky above her. It was a little early for Santa, wasn't it? It couldn't be it, it wasn't Christmas yet! Little did Ainsley know, a small Santa like cat had heard her plea and jingled all the way across the field.

"You rang? had caused the child to nearly jump and then drop what she had been holding. It certainly would have been a shame if that had been the case, but luckily she hadn't. She looked down with a bit of a startled expression on her face before she smiled. It was Santa Cat! She'd found her! ... or she'd found her. Whatever, it didn't matter because now they were together!

Without hesitation, Ainsley swung the small bag she'd been carrying around to her front side and then carefully kneeled down next to the cat.

"*********! Oh, I'm so glad you were here! I... I wanted to thank you!"

She fumbled around a bit before she pulled it out. Maybe ********* smelled it before she did but carefully she laid it out in her hands.

She had thought so hard on a way to thank the cat for what she had done for her in her time of need and the answer hadn't been far away. It had been more challenging than she expected but she'd succeeded... or hoped she had. She made them with a bit of help from a very kind elderly woman next door while her sister and Xavier had been out. There were a few "*********" cat cookies, a heart, a few stars and a name tag cookie just for *********. A couple of them had were a bit harder than they should have been and she accidentally didn't let the frosting dry before she'd picked them up, causing some of the frosting to come off and for the lettering on one to become very messy... but she hoped ********* would like them. Most of all she hoped they weren't rock hard or tasted weird.

"They're all for you! I hope you like them... thank you so much for everything."

The manx lifted up a paw, as if to point at the child. "That makes you lucky then!" She laughed a bit, since it was all truth. ********* was a little too active for the tastes of some people. It made it a bit more difficult to predict where and when she'd pop up. Or when she'd disappear.

It was a bit too cold for her to want to lower her rump to touching the ground, so she refrained. She did allow her head to tilt to the side curiously at the mention of a thank you.

"....thank me? I don't know why you'd want to do that... but I am definitely willing to take those delicious smelling treats off of your hands." Yes, the manx had noticed them, but she did not realize they were decorated so nicely.

Lifting a paw, she poked at the one cookie that had her name on it. "I don't recall doing anything that would ensure I got my own brand of cookies! I thank you, regardless!" With a small purr, she managed to find her way about the child's ankles.

Ainsley was thankful that she had found the cat but she worried that ********* had already forgotten about helping her out when she was stuck in the body of the cat. She never would have been able to get away from the group of boys in the piece she had if it hadn't been ********* coming and helping her. She was grateful and when ********* was happy about the cookies Ainsley smiled regardless of if she had been recalled or not.

"You're so helpful, you definitely deserve them." She told her, not bothering to specify on what she'd done. The single event wasn't as important as thanking her. Ainsley knew ********* must do a lot, and although Ainsley didn't know just what she had the feeling the ********* probably deserved a lot more than the cookies she'd made. Perhaps a mountain of cake with sugar coated rivers of ice cream.

"I'm glad you like them. I... I hope they taste good!"

They were actually one of the first things she'd baked thanks to Mrs. Clayton.

Having done her due diligence with thanking the girl with ankle rubs, the feline quickly returned to the offered cookies. Who cared if it was kinda cold? There were cookies that needed to be eaten! Any who knew ********* really well might have realized that she wasn't very picky when it came to food. Yet, in a pleasant tone, she replied "I'll tell you in a moment!" when the child spouted out her desire for making good tasting treats.

They were soft, ********* soon enough knew that as she leaned in and took as big a bite as her tiny cat mouth would allow. Even in this cold weather they still hadn't gotten hard, which was a good thing if one asked the guardian. She chewed and chewed and swallowed soon enough.

"Yup! They taste good!" To a normal person, they might have tasted kind of bland, but this was *********. Infamous manx cat that pretty much would eat anything. Guardian known to scrounge through trashcans for food. Feline who was known to beg for food at the back of restaurants. She was never picky. Everything tasted good to her!

Speaking of things tasting good, the feline then resumed chowing down on the star cookie she had started on to begin with.

"Oh good," she said as a sigh of relief fell over her. She would have been awfully embarrassed and quite sad if she had made cookies for ********* that the feline hadn't even liked. Although Ainsley had found out once that ********* just plain liked food, she didn't know if there was anything she didn't like. The idea that she had made a kind of cookie she wouldn't like or the idea that they just weren't made right were all washed away.

Ainsley didn't say anything else, instead, she watched ********* eat happily. It was like a mother's pride as she watched her daughter walk down the aisle. Well, maybe it wasn't exactly like that but Ainsley was proud to watch her cookies be eaten so happily by *********. Even if ********* liked everything, Ainsley was still pleased to have done a good job.

Soon enough the cat had made the first cookie disappear. It wasn't a feat in itself, but as she chewed on the last bits of the cookie, the then eyed all the rest of the parts of the treats. With her mouth still full, she was able to make a "Hmmmmmmmm" sound as she thought.

Once the food had been banished to the land of her stomach, the feline then spoke up. "Perhaps we should continue this someplace... indoors? I don't mind being out in the cold, but I think you'd be better off if we went inside." ********* had a fur coat and a small layer of chub to keep her warm. The girl on the other hand could probably benefit from being someplace where the temperature wouldn't chill her to the bone potentially.
