Biography
Though his skin may be black, Atlae has never considered himself to be separate from the humans who raised him. Abandoned as an infant, he had never known the life of that dark elves. Although his lack of knowledge would haunt his childhood. As an infant, it was easy to keep him hidden, however, as he grew bigger the townspeople feared what wasn't understood and chased his parents and him out of town. Sticking with him despite their ill fate was what kept Atlae a happy child.
Named After the latin "wings" (alae) and latin "stars" (Stella), Atlaes parents had always hoped for the best for their son. After years on the run, they were able to find him a tutor. However, in order to pay for his tutelage, they worked as indentured servants to the master of a manor in the hills. In return atlae was able to learn many things from his tutor, as well as be hidden from the people who would not understand him.
After many years, Atlae's tutelage ended and he left the manor with his parents. In his late teens now, he was eager to explore. However his parents still wanted to protect him. It was not until other stories of dark elves began to surface that their worries began to wane. Feeling that they wouldn't be able to keep him hidden forever, they devised an outfit that would let him go out in public, including a mask and face wrappings. He may get weird looks, but no one would want to kill, maim, or arrest him.
After being presented with his new garments, his parents let him leave the house by himself, usually to run errands or do chores. It was on these errands that he would go to town, He learned a lot more about the world by actually being in it rather than by books and lessons. However he would easily get careless and distract himself with the many shops and fun things to do in town. It was around this time he also started talking to people. Girls in general seemed to talk to him more after they realized he wasn't going to rob them. This was how he got his main source of news. After awhile, he learned about a temple full of weird people and things. Things weird enough that he might not have to hide who he is when he goes out everyday.
Using the excuse that he wanted to further his schooling, and knew of a place to do so, Atlae convinced his parents to let him move to the isle....with them. Using their connection with "the man in the manor" Atlae's parents got a beach house near the Port of Gambino.
Personality
Atlae tends to be a serious person, however he has his fun and unexpected moments. He is a bit naive still when it comes to talking to people, and in crowds he gets shy. However he tends to be very social in one on one interactions. He also tries to be independent when by himself. Living with his parents his whole life has made him want to show everyone hecan handle everything on his own.
