Planet: Obroa-skai
System: Obrao
Sector: Obrao
Terrian: Oceans, Deslote waste lands, regrowing forrest, Ruins.
Zones: Lone Starport, numerous ruins.

Obroa-skai was a planet in the Obroa system within a strategic position of the Borderlands region of the Inner Rim. Ecologically, the world a was terrestrial mix of tundras, mountains, grasslands and deserts. A standard day was 26 standard hours and a standard year 456 local days.

Obroa-skai was home to a large collection of Jedi-related antiquties which were destroyed by the Imperial Security Bureau.

The Obroans kept their planet neutral during the Galactic Civil War, despite heavy petitioning by the New Republic in 9 ABY. Obroa-skai's expansive library of galactic information and numerous academic institutions drew Grand Admiral Thrawn to raid its central computer system. The raid gifted Thrawn with the hidden location of Wayland and was part of a distraction technique used on the New Republic forces prior to the Battle of Sluis Van.

Obroa-skai was captured by the Yuuzhan Vong during their invasion of the galaxy. Much was lost from the archives, but hardcopies of key items were saved before the assault. The Yuuzhan Vong kept many of the copies intact, at least until they could get them fully translated. It is likely that the Obroans returned to Obroa-skai after the war.

To this day, Obroa-skai still feeling the touch of Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. Much of the planet was badly damaged and is still slowly recovering, desolate save for the biospheres that have been completed. On top of that, most of the archive's on the planet had been destroyed and their contents allowed to be weather damaged, causing many years of compliation alone.

Yet, within the past ten years, much work has occured on Obroa-Skai to rebuild its substantial archives and its position as a place of knowledge in the galaxy. Led by a group of wealthy private business owners and granted small subsidies from planets, the historians and archealogists have worked tirelessly to restore the intricate databases.

Recruitment to work at one of the various digsites in the galaxy is at an all time high, and for many destitute or poorly educated, it serves as a rare chance to find a simple job that they have room to grow in. Currently there are major operations on Glee Anselm and Dantooine, as well as many minor ones. These projects are to find and catalogue artifacts and historical events, and communications and information specialists are highly sought after.

Three main Institutes work under the banner of the Historical Council: the Obroan Institute, which deals with artifacts and cataloguing as well as historical documentation; the Linguistics and Species Institute, which is working to regain and maintain a database of all spoken languages in the galaxy and cultural attributes of sentient cultures, past and present; and finally the Halion Institute, a dedicated group of historians working to catalogue and research all past and present military endevours and weapons.

Underneath the main three work many minor Offices, such as the Office of Force Sensatives, previously run by Dr. Torma and now by her students, Dr. Oryn Tesswa and Dr. Xelia Tesswa, both newly in the field as supervisors after two years of isolated study. Other minor Offices include the Office of Galaxy Politics (past and present), the Office of Agriculture, the Office of Transportation and Technology, and a minor Linguistics Office that deals with animals.

Courses can be taken by registering and living on planet, or by correspondance. Living on location is free, but you will be dedicated to a set amount of time to help in the Biome Project, set up to push forward the environmental rebuilding of Obroa-Skai.

The Institutes have much information availiable for puplic viewing. Contact the Services department to set up an appointment.

((Bwah, a short post, since I have time))

Oryn frowned slightly as she inspected the gallery once more from the large double doored entrance. The doors were antiques, wood carven and stained a pretty hue of chestnut brown, matching the various cases that contained the displays and artifacts. Of course, under the wooden coverings, lay metal and electronics, carefully placed security systems and alarms. Very little time had been wasted here, and no cost too high.

Whether they be good or evil, or merely misguided, everyone had the right to learn about force sensatives, the Historical Council had decided. From the ancient Sith to the Miraluka, to the Disciples of the White Current. Jedi and Sith alike, Oryn and Xelia had studied them all in intensity during their lives, and had added more research to their department than even their adopted mother, and previous head of the department, Main Torma, had. As a precaution, some more sensative materials, actual documents on force manipulation and the few precious ones that hinted at the location of artifacts long lost, were hidden away, far in the depths of the Institute, under more than lock and key.

The young woman walked amongst the displays, stopping to inspect the one that contained the lightsabres of Tamarai Takana and Yaston Salvatore. That had been their most difficult task, having only the lightsabre to go by, they had sifted through pages of accounts from the battle at Glee Anselm, and many another, trying to find who had held it, who had died by the twi'lek jedi. Even now, they had only a name. Yet the sisters had their suspcions, based on the lack of presence at the site of their deaths. Both had rejoined the force, and naught but a silent wisdom lingered their now. The intensity of the spirits on Glee Anselm had been a boon in this. Even the people who were furthest away from force sensative could feel the emotions and memories that permeated that place. No one could escape it, and none could stay there over long, before they would go insane.

The museum was set to open within the month. Invitations had gone out, and it was open to the public as well, though any dignitaries had reserved space for them. All this time spent here on Obroa-Skai, back home...she had almost been able to push Jokmo from her mind, to avoid the thought of her failure. She understood the boys impatience, though knew that she could not teach him anything due to it, and had resigned herself to that. She could see now, why Tamarai had not chased after Sephra, and in the end, had let him go to his own destiny.

With a small sigh, she gazed on the exhibits once more, reminding herself to check all the holoprojection displays before opening night. Then off she went, back to the offices, to find Xelia.

Xelia was in their shared office, boredly staring off into space. Her eyes were glazed over as her fingers drummed against the desk, her other hand supporting her chin, elbow on the table. When Oryn entered though, Xelia's eyes snapped back to life.

"I'm bored." She announced. With a sigh, she stood up, leaning against her desk and folding her arms. "Let's find some underlings and make them run around and then change the tasks on them." Xelia wiggled her eyebrows misheviously at her sister.

To be honest, Xelia hadn't had any time since they arrived to train. She herself had buried herself in work and historical records, working late into the nights, and even falling asleep in her office. And in truth be told also, everyone had started to steer clear of the irritable blond.

"Let's just do SOMETHING."

"Just another day Xel, then the doors will open and we'll have our work brought to the public. Another day and everything we've strived for will be brought to light. To fruitation."

Indeed, Oryn had striven for this. After Jokmo had left, she had fallen into such a fit of depression that her love for history and her sister had been the only thing keeping her moving forward. She was excited about the opening, but at the same time, worried. What would she do next? Should she search for her errant padawan now that she was stronger? Now that her desires of a museum were complete she could dedicate her mind to something new.

Xelia sighed and dropped her head dramatically to the table, with a sounding "THUNK". She was excited for the opening, in all honesty. Their hard work would have paid off. The stress level would go down as well. Xelia wasn't nearly as stressed out as Oryn was. Between trying to manage everything and her pawadan leaving, Xelia felt sorry for her sister. She had tried to help Oryn through it as much as possible, but there was only so much she was able to do. And she herself hadn't been the easiest to work with her.

"Take a break and come shopping with me. We need gowns for the opening night event." She raised her head and cupped her chin in her palm, studying her sister.

"You could use a change of scenery. I'm sure you could navigate through this place with your eyes closed, by now." Xelia smirked amusedly.

"I suppose...we could go down to the shopping district..." She had only been there once, in all the time they had spent here. It had seemed worthwhile enough, a few specialty shops, some tailors, enough to keep the populace of academics spending their money.

"New clothing never hurt either, and we do have more than enough income..."

She gave a rueful smile and shut her eyes, "I could probably make it to the markets with my eyes shut too, but I'd be cheating," the smile blossomed into a grin. "Alright sister of mine, I'm up for the challenge."

Jokmo let out a calming sigh as he exited hyperspace. He was quickly greeted by a tower control. He was given a destination to park after he displayed his identifacation. After a few minutes, he was landing within the institute. He looked down to a worker and called out. "Hey, you! tell Oryn Tesswa that she has a student of hers in the hangar!" He breathed deeply once again and unstrapped himself. He looked back to the tail of the snub fighter at Zak.

Oryn and Xelia meanwhile, were out shopping.

"Blue or purple?" she asked her sister, holding up two matching dresses of differing colour. They were flowy knee length gowns, made of a shimmering gauze like material that had been layered in rollicking falls. The straps were straw thin, and though she had been reluctant at first, the propetier had persuaded her to wear a more risky cut than she would have otherwise bothered with.

The planet was so laden with force residues in the area they were in due tothe museum that even at this distance, at least 2 miles from it, her senses were dampened to the point that she didn't notice the familiar aura that had entered the atmosphere, her grasp of the force was stronger in many ways, though not her manipulation of it. She could see, hear, and feel so much more, but she dared not touch it for fear of detection by anyone.

The attendant returned just as Jokmo had finished stretching out. "I'm sorry, sir, but she seems to have gone out." Jokmo nodded and thanked the man. He closed his eyes and cautiously activated his inner eye. He was greeted by a lot of buzz. He sighed as he remembered the number of force relecs nearby. He drew himself out and looked to Zak. "Come on, let's get something to eat while we're here."

"Blue. Goes with your eyes." Xelia giggled with a grin, as she held out a gown in her hands to take a better look at it. It was much like a jedi robe, but more elaborate and flowing.

"Oooh, I like this! What do you think?" Xelia turned to Oryn happily. The prescence of a familer student went unnoticed to her. But then again, she was happily ignoring many things, including the look from the store keeper's annoyance that she was too loud.

Zak stepped down from the ship and nodded. "Yeah, OK." He said exuberantly. He followed the Jedi down a few streets in search of a good resturant. "Why are we here again? Is this where the light side is?"

Jokmo shrugged as he spotted a decently priced place. "I told you, I wanted to supprise a friend. She used to be my master until not to long ago. Yes, two please." The host took them to a table on the patio. Jokmo smiled as he picked up a menu. They were right on a main street. that way he would have a better chance to spot or be spotted my Oryn. e just prayed to the force that Xelia wasn't with her.

"Master?" Zak's eyes shot wide in suprize. "You were a slave?" He asked in a gasp.

"Ravishing," she said with a smile, before giving the propetier a look with a raised eyebrow that almost challenged the man to say something.

"I think we shall purchase these, bill them to our account at the Institute will you?" Oryn gave the man her's and Xelia's information before having the dresses carefully wrapped up.

"Tommorow eh?" she said with a smile to her sister, "Last day of peace we have before the big show."

Jokmo chuckled at the comment. "No, not that kind. She was my mentor, of a sort." He closed his eyes and remembered her face. He hadn't really been gone too long. In truth he didn't really know how long he had spent with her, or how long it had been since he had left.
