When Kettil saw the message on groanspring there were a couple of different emotions going through him mostly confusion, confusion that Herryk would even initiate a meeting with him at all because Kettil had fully anticipated having to hunt him down and talk to him on some other neutral plane somewhere. He arrived at the Grub n' Go but he awaited outside out of politeness right now while Endy sat perched on his shoulder ducking her head down a bit.
She thought this was a silly venture.
Kettil couldn't turn around and run away now and besides he wasn't a runner. He faced things head on no matter what the consequences were. The situation might turn out awkward but at least...Things would get aired out between them and everyone else.
It was fate, perhaps.

At the time that Herryk had initiated contact with Kettil on groanspring, the draugr had every intention on being a brutish jacktard. He hadn't been entirely placated when Freya had called him in days past to see if Herryk would mind if she had a sleepover with the owl-keeper. It hadn't settled well in his gut, though he had decided not to make a big deal out of it.
However, he'd taken the time to think about it. This boil seemed to make Freya happy and this was all well and good, but there was just something offputting about the way that Kettil spoke to Freya on groanspring. Herryk didn't like it.
He didn't like it at all.
Approaching the Grub n' Go, Herryk caught sight of the boil with the owl. The draugr stopped a short distance from Kettil, narrowing his eyes and crossing his arms over his chest.
"Kettil."

Kettil was of course mostly innocent of anything Herryk might or might not be thinking. Thus when there was a black brute staring at him with his eyes narrowed and greeting him with his name he just tried to seem relaxed but not cocky as he straightened up a bit and offered the large draugr a bit of a grin, "Hey, how ya doin? Glad to finally meet ya."
Endzela, however, seemed a bit on edge and silent as she quietly ducked down against her summoner staring at Herryk with hapless eyes.
The longer he stared at the other boil the more it seemed obvious that the other probably wasn't too interested in eating. Oh snap.

"Mmm." Herryk's brow lifted in a high arch as he stared down at the other boil. It seemed that Herryk made the owl nervous? Herryk didn't care. He was feeling more and more irritated and agitated at the same time. It wasn't the best combination of emotions that he could be going through at the moment.
"Herryk is fine." Physically, he couldn't understand what Freya might find attractive about the other boil, if anything. His hair was knotted, his eyes were very dark and his skin was pale. He was short(er than Herryk) and lean. Herryk was not even sure if she did find him physically attractive -- he was merely allowing his thoughts to run wild. Probably not the best idea, but at the moment he couldn't help himself.
The familiarity that the two shared with one another was enough to make the draugr uneasy, but... maybe if Herryk could calm himself, he could explore the ulterior motives that this owl-keeper might have.
"Inside?"

Kettil was not sure what to make of Herryk at all. As far as he could see the boil was suffering from some sort of mental retardation that caused him to talk in third person no matter where he talked. He wisely kept the thought to himself and was about to ask if the other party wanted a new venue but then thought better of it.
Inside there were witnesses.
Always a bonus.
Turning around he nodded a bit walking toward the door as he opened it and gestured, "Want to go in first?" There was the age old thing of never exposing one's back to a potential enemy.

Herryk did not think of Kettil as an enemy yet, so the draugr had no problem with turning his back to the other boil as he strolled into the establishment. A small corner booth caught his attention, and Herryk moved towards it, turning to face Kettil before lowering himself into the seat.
"Herryk does not eat," he grunted, brow lowered, "but if Kettil is hungry, feel free to get food. Herryk can wait here."
He clasped his hands together on the tabletop and stared at the other boil.

He followed in and then followed him to the booth just for the moment to make sure the other boil settled in nicely. Kettil let out a small hum and nodded a bit, "Not hungry at the moment but I'll be back."
With that he wandered toward the counter and simply ordered a drink. Nothing fancy. A bit of water to just try and ease his nerves. Once drink was acquired he joined Herryk and quietly sat across from him while Endzela perched on the booth seat behind Kettil.
Endzela didn't approve of the way the large boil stared at them it was most unfriendly.
"So, what can I do for you, Herryk?" Kettil asked wanting to get straight to the point despite the fact that he still smiled.

Herryk shot the owl a look, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"Herryk thought it was time to meet this boil who had a sleepover with Herryk's most beloved Freya." He sounded kind of bitchy. Herryk hated sounding bitchy, but he couldn't help it. Thus far Freya's interactions with boils had Herryk feeling frazzled. Mac came to mind immediately.
Just thinking of it got Herryk a little worked up. Was the draugr feeling threatened? Probably. Angry? A little. Defensive?
Much too much.

Endzela narrowed her eyes back at the large boil feeling just as defensive as he was, Kettil seeming to note something and tilted his head back to look up at Endzela, "Don't make me pack you away girlie. We're here to play nice."
She puffed up a bit and made a displeased sound and then Kettil paid attention to Herryk again.
Kettil now seemed to process Herryk's words trying to pick words carefully, "We didn't do anything inappropriate, Herryk. If that is what you're worried about. I kind of came to Amity at short notice and it wasn't certain that we would be staying so Freya offered to let me stay a night with her so I could go see the play the next day with my friend. When we fell asleep it was me on the couch and she was on the floor if I remember right." He shrugged a shoulder as he scratched at the bridge of his nose.
He wasn't sure why Herryk was all up in arms about this. Did the large boil not trust his ghoulfriend? That didn't set well with Kettil.

"Herryk is not worried about anything ... inappropriate. Freya would not do anything to hurt Herryk, and Herryk knows this. It does not mean that other boils would not try and," Herryk clenched a fist and drove it into the opposite palm, "do things to Herryk's ladybird." The draugr's lip curled slightly, though it was hard to say if he was feeling particularly confrontational.
"Or other ghouls. Freya has been punched in the face by a ghoul, and it made Herryk furious. A ghoul that Kettil knows, if Herryk remembers correctly. Kettil's best friend, even?" Herryk leaned back in the booth and crossed his arms over his chest. "What kind of ghoul punches another in the face, hm? Herryk is not sure about everything that happened, but Herryk promised that he would not talk to this best friend of Kettil."

Kettil sipped at his water and then shrugged a shoulder, "I...don't do things to other boil's ghouls," even though he very much wanted to at least kiss Freya. Still he wisely kept that out of the conversation with Herryk. "I am...Not a Roch," he'd recalled something being mentioned about it when talking to that particular boil. The other boil he knew nothing about. "I respect Freya. She is a dear friend to me, Herryk. I would not betray her or make her betray you. I want...nothing but for her to be happy and you make her happy. Why would I get in the way of that?"
Then Lark came up making the boil shift uncomfortably, "If I had physically been there I could have done a better job to stop her, I promise you this. Lar...she....let her emotions get away from her and Freya was there at the wrong time. Maybe if I hadn't pissed Lar off in the first place..."
Guilt crossed over his face and he sighed softly, "I apologize on her behalf."

"This is good. Herryk has beaten a boil who needed to learn that Freya belongs to Herryk." The draugr leaned in, his gaze intent on Kettil's face. "Herryk broke Mac's nose because Mac kissed Freya. Herryk will not hesitate to break more noses if this is what it takes." Herryk braced his elbows on the table and stared at Kettil for a good long time.
"Herryk would do anything for Freya. Anything. Freya is Herryk's everything, and Herryk will not tolerate interlopers. If Herryk does something stupid and loses Freya, it is because he is not worthy of her love. Herryk does not plan on doing anything stupid, Kettil." He leaned in even further, his voice a low, warning whisper.
"It is good to know that Kettil does not have impure intentions towards Freya. Perhaps Kettil and Herryk might be friends."

Kettil just stared at Herryk quietly as the other boil seemed to take it upon himself to posture by leaning closer and closer to him and all Herryk got in turn was a patient dark green eyed stare in return. It seemed that if the Muut was scared he refused to show it and even then it was probably mostly nerves. Up until now Kettil was playing his cards carefully with the Draugr, simply placing them down one by one to make sure everything was clear.
"I'm...going to be very honest with you Herryk. Even if you told me to stay away...I wouldn't simply because I am her friend and if that's all I'll ever be then that is fine. I made a promise to her that I'd always be her friend and ... I keep my promises Herryk." He said simply. Kettil treasured her friendship above all else.
"I would much prefer that we are friends, Herryk. It is very tiring to have to look out for shadows looming behind me with intent to harm." He shrugged his shoulders idly. "You are important to Freya. You are her boilfriend. I am her friend. Those are our roles, right?"

Herryk knew that it likely would mean much to Freya if he at least attempted to be friends with this owl-keeper. Because Herryk lived to make Freya happy, he would do whatever it took. He just ... had to make that certain lines were drawn. Clearly.
"Herryk trusts Freya. Herryk does ... not quite trust Kettil. But Herryk will say no more on the matter. Just let it be clear, Kettil. If Herryk finds that Kettil has broken these flimsy bonds of trust -- if Kettil makes any sort of move on Freya and Herryk finds out about it?"
Herryk gave a cold smile.
"Kettil will likely regret it."
Hello, threat.

Why you gotta do a brotha like that, Herryk? Just why?
Kettil leaned back in his seat and his arms crossed over his chest and he just continued to smile and shrugged a bit, "I can only assure you in so many ways before it starts to lose meaning, Herryk. Promise is a promise. Muut always follow through."
As for regretting it? Highly unlikely. Kettil wouldn't regret a damn thing if he kissed Freya at least once but he kept that to himself since it'd be very, very dangerous to say so out loud.
Plus they were in a public place.
Also? He knew how to pick his battles.
