Word Count: 2,471 Posts: 17 Senka: Senka was feeling rather pleased with herself. Not only had she gathered several stories to add to her collection, and spread a fair few of her own about, but she had also discovered a most diverting form of entertainment: flirtation. It never ceased to amaze her just how over-eager males were to please her if she showed just the slightest bit of interest in them. Fedha: Fedha moved through the woods at a slow, hesitant pace. Ever few minutes he would stop and look around suspiciously, then continued on his way. He was sure that one day soon they would catch up to him, but for now he was free. Still, still... he had to make his way back to Ausi! He groaned and whined as she popped up in his thoughts and found himself stopping again. How could she just stay there like that? Ungreateful little... he snarled and snapped at a branch hanging close to him. He would have to make her listen, it was the only thing he could do. He began to mumble to himself as he went forward again, trying to come up with a plan. His mumblings carried on even as an unfamiliar scent entered his nostrils, but almost naturally he shifted closer to the shadows.Senka: The she-wolf paused, some instinct telling her that she was not alone any longer. She scented the air, but whoever they were, they must have been downwind. A slight annoyance, but she was hardly concerned. Nearly supernatural good luck combined with her training and months worth of wandering Telk on her own had combined, creating a casual sense of confidence. That, and her rather unique personality would not allow her to be truly afraid. Besides, it was probably just some local wolf. Or perhaps another wanderer. Could she coax a story out of them? If it was a male, so much the better. She grinned slightly at that. “Won’t you come out and say hello?” she called. “I know you’re there.” Fedha: His ears twitched and at the stranger's words he felt the hackles on the back of his neck rise, and his muscles tensed. He started to growl lowly, mismatched eyes flickering over different rocks and trees until her finally landed on the form of the speaker. He was headed right for her, and he wasn't about to go out of his way to avoid her. Still, he didn't really want to talk to the female. He was busy! Didn't anyone every understand that? He had things to do. For one, he had to figure out where the hell Ausi was. "What do you want?" He spat irritably, tail flicking to the side as he finally came into view. He did not look as crazed as he was, in fact the only hint of madness he gave off on first impression was deeply hidden in his gaze. Most wolves didn't notice right away, especially because Fedha did not like eye contact. No, he simply came off as a grumpy, unsocial lone wolf.Senka: As he emerged from the shadows, Senka was struck by how handsome he was. It was not often that she came across one as fetching as he. Of course, looks were not everything, but they did tend to make playing with a male more enjoyable. Then he snarled at her oh, so irritably and she had to work to hide a delighted smile, though amusement still lit her crimson eyes. So prickly! Oh, this was bound to be entertaining. “I merely wished to greet a fellow wolf. Perhaps trade news, have a little conversation,” she said lightly, then cocked her head. “Is that so very bad? I am a traveler, you see. Company can be difficult to come by.” If there was anything off about this wolf, Senka missed it in pursuit of her fun. Fedha: Fedha could not quite understand what her fascination was with wanting company out in the woods. It was not in his nature to seek others out, and the only one he wanted by his side was constantly evading him. One day though, one day he'd keep her safe. He'd have it so she would never be able to leave him again. Yes, that would be a wonderful day indeed. But this female... this female who so openly wished for him to converse with her, she annoyed him. His mismatched eyes narrowed and he found himself chuckling at her nonsense words. "That is the better part of traveling. If you want company go find yourself a damned pack." His words were cold, slightly mumbled and nervous. He did not like taking his time talking to strangers... oh... but what if this female had come upon Ausi? He demeanor changed almost instantly as he stopped himself from moving past her, and his hackles lowered. "Ah... but it's been long since I've heard news from others. Packs... have you run into any packs around this area?" He wouldn't be too far from the pack, would he? Though he hadn't realized the pack in it's entirety had disbanded.Senka: Her tail twitched. Yes, indeed. He was a surly one. She chose not to comment on her own status, or the fact that she did, in fact, belong to a pack, and instead focused on his question. Perhaps he would be more amenable to conversation if she humored him for a while. It was better than following him in order to pester him, at any rate. “And here I though you enjoyed your solitude,” Senka teased. Still, it would not do to push him too far too fast. He might just run off. Then, where would her fun be? “Ah, but I have come across a couple of packs recently. Several days’ journey, but not too far, really. My turn. Why is it you are traveling?”

Fedha: At her comment he felt his hackles begin to rise a little again, and his lip curled just slightly. No, he had to keep being polite. He had to get information out of this female... it wouldn't be any good to tear her face off. At the image that popped into his head he found himself chuckling very quietly, almost missing her explanation to his question. His gaze snapped to hers and his tail gave a small flick. Packs close... yes, this was good. What the hell did she mean, her turn? He gave a warning growl, not liking being questions. "And the wolves in these packs... have you seen them? Spoke to them?" He was suddenly on his paws again, moving closer to the female. His voice sounded urgent, desperate. He ignored her question entirely, thinking it didn't really deserve an answer.
Senka: She smirked slightly, amused at his insistence. Of a certainty, he was a desperate wolf. For one as antisocial as he seemed to be, he was awfully curious about the packs she had visited. Just what was he after? Senka was determined to find out.
“That’s not how the game is played,” she chided. “Why are you traveling? What is it you seek with such…passion?”
Fedha: Was she dare speaking of games to him? He suddenly felt furious with the unhelpful female, he didn't have time for her freaking games. "Game?" He hissed, shaking his head. His whole body was trembling, because of the fury he felt. It was so easy to get him riled up, but how could she have known this? He felt himself stop, just enough distance that if he lunged he'd be able to close the gap. "Why don't you tell me what I want to hear? Otherwise you will feel very sorry. Was there a female? A dark female... with red and white.. did you see her there in those packs?" His words came spilling out of his maw rushed and demanding, and he felt as though his blood was boiling.
Senka: Belatedly, her warrior training kicked in, making Senka quite suddenly aware of this male’s restrained tension…and the fact that he was now within striking distance. Well. That certainly put a damper on her fun. She could not bring herself to be afraid, but she was certainly a bit wary now. This was quickly becoming a rather more dangerous game than she had bargained for, and she was not at all sure that she liked it.
Still, she had her answer now. He was after a female. A very specific female. “Of course I spoke with the packs,” she replied, keeping her eye on him for any sudden movement. “I did not see one such as you describe, however, I hardly spoke to everyone. She could be there.” Though, she doubted it. Even if she hadn’t spoken to everyone, she was fairly certain that she had seen everyone. She recalled no such wolf.
Fedha: He was not pleased with her answer, not at all. Where the hell was Ausi? "Liar. Liar, LIAR!" At first he'd started to mumble the word, but his volume increased until he was suddenly flying at her, snapping. He was salivating quite a bit, and his eyes seemed crazed. "Filthy, filthy female! You're all the same, all freaking lying!" He snarled out the words madly as he attempted to tackle her down, to get ahold of her flesh with his jaws. He'd show her! Just as he'd show Ausi! He wouldn't take this sort of attitude from any female! This was not going to end well, though Fedha hardly thought about that. He could only think about the lies spilling from the female's mouth, and how much he suddenly despised her.
Senka: It was good that she had been paying such close attention to him, or she would never have gotten out of the way in time. He was fast. As it was, she was scrambling to keep away from his jaws. He might be a bit insane, as she finally realized, but whatever rationality he lost there, he made up for in unpredictability and furious brute strength. Oh, how ironic it would be to have passed safely through the Reign of Terror only to be done in by a mad dog.
Well. Senka had no intention of allowing that to happen. She would find a way out of this situation, even if it took every last drop of her skill and her more than considerable luck, though she was questioning that last just then.
“Stop that!” she demanded as she dodged yet another of his attacks, trying to come up with a way to diffuse the situation. She would not panic. She wasn't sure she had it in her, anyway. “It is no wonder this female is avoiding you if you are like this all the time.”
Gods damn him to the frozen hells, he wouldn't let up. At this rate, she would have to go on the attack and pray for the best. She couldn't remember the last time she had been in a real fight.

Fedha: The best course of action for her to take was probably get a swift blow in and flee a safe distance away. Fedha could no longer thing what was right and wrong, or even what he was doing really. He just felt the deep seeded hatred for the female, an anger that seemed to stem for days and months, even though it had only sprung up within the last few moments. Though her words seemed to penetrate the barrier he'd put up between himself and the present because he froze just long enough for her to do whatever it was she needed to do be it scramble away or get a good bite in. Avoiding! His hatred seemed to increase, to flood out of his being as he snapped and lunged for her again. The words spilling from his lips, ripping from his throat, they were not words at all. They were unintelligible noises full of rage and seething hatred! She was wrong, she was wrong! She was a lying witch of a wolf, trying to trick him and taint him with her lies! Ausi loved him. And he loved Ausi! It was simple, and how dare any wolf try and tell him differently!
Senka: Damn. It was no use trying to argue with a mad wolf. Looks like she was going to have to exercise the time-honored tradition used by all wolves who spent any amount of time on their own. Flee. Flee for her life.
Clearly she had underestimated this male, and taken his sanity for granted. She had been arrogant, and it was a mistake that could well cost her dearly. It could still cost her, even if she had managed to stay out of the way so far. Well. She might have been arrogant and foolish, but she was no idiot. She would never get anywhere by just staying out of the way. Rewards required risks.
Luckily, her words had not been wasted. She took advantage of his momentary hesitation and aimed for one of his legs, hoping to incapacitate him enough that she could flee faster than he could pursue her. Assuming he was interested in chasing her.
Fedha: Fedha was not fully aware of when she'd made her move, though slight pain seared through the hatred that seemed to fully take up his being. He yelped and snapped, jerking backwards slightly. He moved to his feet to again attack her, but snarled as he put weight down on his hind leg. He gave a few more snarls and growls for good measure before he whine, trying to move forward. But the pain, the pain was there! What was it from? It took him a moment to realize he was hurt, to let some of the anger grow. He sat hesitantly, panting heavily as he examined his leg but did nothing to help it. It would take him more time to become fully coherent, luckily for the female who'd fled the scene.
Senka: Of course, he only seemed angrier for her efforts, whether it was her words of her actions. Good thing she was well on her way, then, and she had managed to score a blow. Quite frankly, she was shocked that she had managed to escape without any real wounds on her part. Even with her luck, she counted it as a minor miracle. That bit of training in Antianeira had served her well, though she was still far too out of practice.
Never again, she vowed. Never again would she allow herself to be blinded by her arrogance. She would be wary of males in the future. Somehow, her ventures into the realm of flirtation were not looking as enticing as they did mere minutes ago. Better to exercise some degree of caution. Better to keep a certain distance.
She glanced over her shoulder.
Best get her bearings and reevaluate her habits before she went and met more wolves.
