-Different From The Life I Knew-

The Demon & his Crow

User Image

Not long after becoming a demon, thanks to the contract between Alois and Hannah, Ciel became bored of his immortality and eternal youth so he fell into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, Sebastian stayed awake, taking care of his dear, sleeping and making sure they were not found out for what they truely were.

Once their welcome had been worn in England, the ever-faithful butler took his master to a new land, America to be precise.

The year is now 2011 and Ciel has finally awoken from his slumber in a very modern land that he isn't familiar with.

Of course, Sebastian is there to guide his little master in this new world around as well as tease along the way.

____

I'm searching for a Ciel to roleplay with my Sebastian.

In order to be my partner for this roleplay, you must follow these rules:

You must be literate, meaning your posts are not oneliners and your sentences must have structure.I will not accept posts under two paragraphs with at least ten sentences in each.If you are new to writing/roleplaying, I suggest you don't join this roleplay until you're seasoned enough to write meaningful sentences and play characters with a bit of depth to them.

You must have good grammar, meaning if you don't know how to spell a word, Google it.If then you still can't find it, then just spell it to the best of your ability and I will make it out.You may also feel free to ask me if you need to.I don't like posts with crappy spelling, but mistypes are perfectly fine.No one is perfect, and I mistype all the time.It is human.

As far as how often you post goes, I'm not too picky.I only ask for at least two posts a week unless you're going to not be able to post for longer. If said case is the problem, please PM me either before that time or after.

Do not Join, then decide you want to quit. It's annoying to loose a roleplay partner, but not half as annoying as when they disapear out of the blue.If there is a problem that forces you to quit, please tell me through PM and don't just disapear on me.

Now, if you're still interested after listening to my nag fest, please PM me or post here.I'll get back to you as soon as possible and will pop up a thread for the roleplay as soon as we're ready. smile

How long had it been now that Ciel had slept, somewhere around fourhundred-eight years, if Sebastian's counting wasn't off, which was highly unlikely. So long had the Corw's master been in his slumber, and yet, Sebastian had neither the urge, nor the will to wake the demonic child. He wasn't sure how Ciel would take this new land they were living in, a place called 'America' where supposedly everyone was a free man.Technology had sprung much farther forward here than it had been progressing in England before they left, americans having reinovated the automobile, discovered a way to store massive amounts of computerated data on a small device that could fit in one's lap, and even created telephones that could be held in the palm of your hand and needed no wires, just to be plugged into a charger at night when the battery use was low.It was a very new world, but Sebastian had become quite accustomed to it, due to his being awake while Ciel took his leisure at waking himself.Such a boring way to spend fourhundred years of unwilled contract, but his orders were not to wake Ciel, only to care for him and make sure they were not found out.Sebastian had many things he'd like to ease his curiosity of about this new era, but it seemed that Ciel wasn't going to wake anytime soon.It was a disgrace to all demons to be caught in an eternal contract, but there were cases where it has happened, though once in a situation, the demon caught in the contract was considored the lowest of the low and other demons would have no shame in openly demeaning them.Of course, Sebastian was rather good at hiding the fact that he was in such a contract, thus he'd yet to be abused for his mistake. One day he might find a way out of this contract, but it obviously wasn't now, a time when he was under orders.

With a sigh, Sebastian set a kettle of water to boil on the stove, begining his daily routine of making a full breakfast that most likely wouldn't be eat yet again, as it had been for the past fourhundred years. The butler moved about swiftly, cooking two eggs, poached, with two slices of bacon, the fat and grease removed, and a slice of goldened toast with a small square of butter.Soon the kettle whistled as a sign that the water was done boiling and Sebastian took it off the burner, pouring the scalding water into a china teapot that held the leaves of New Moon Drop.To humans, this tea would have no taste at all, but to demons, its taste was a bitter, yet held a slight sweetness to it, like the perfect tea, if you could call it that.As he finished up cooking and such, the demon pulled out his pocket watch, barely glancing at it, more in habbit than to actually tell the time. With such a boring lifestyle, it was quite surprising that Sebastian didn't just ignore his orders and simply leave Ciel, but there was something inside of him that just wouldn't allow him to abandon his tasks.Perhaps it was his aethetics that kept him so loyal, or maybe it was the fact that Grell wouldn't bother him so much since both the butler and his master were demons, or even it could be simple curiosity.Well, whatever it was, it was strong and kept him planted by the demon child's side, as if an invisible chain were holding him there.Like a dog, Sebastian would always be there, awaiting his next order and carry it out with perfected ease.Yes, he was a dog, the dog of the last Phantomhive.

Once everything was finished cooking and dished out on a fine plate, Sebastian set the tea and food on seperate trays and headed upstairs towards Ciel's room.Sebastian knew full and well that his cooking had been for nothing, even if Ciel did wake up today, for demons didn't eat human food.It wasn't that they couldn't, it was that when they did, it came to taste vulgar, almost gag-worthy.Of course, Sebastian had his resons for doing such a thing, the first was that it was, like checking his watch, a habit that was nearly impossible to break, and the second was because it was a bad joke to Ciel.No matter how much the child would hunger, this human food would no longer satisfy him, only human souls could calm his need to feed.Once inside Ciel's room, Sebastian set both trays on the nightstand beside the bed and walked to the cutains, throwing them back to allow blinding sunlight in the room. That done, the elder demon walked over tothe dresser and pulled out a set of clothes that were incredibly out-dated, yet still suited his small master and set them at the edge of the bed.Now all that was left to do was wait for Ciel to either sleep the day away once more, or awaken to this modern world.Sebastian stood by the bedside, his ruby gaze watching his master closely with the overused hope that Ciel would finally awaken. In a quiet, almost inaudible voice, the Crow muttered out,"So, shall you awaken today, or sleep yet another fourhundred years away, my Lord?"

Time, a concept no longer sought out with further interest in this warpped reailty we all call life. The clock tolls, but such a calling for attention in the world is a dull melody around the flamboyance of mankind; like a whisper of a piano key calling out for him and in such sadness did the flicker of daylight enter his eyes. The odd shapes and curves in the room did not call forth any memory, the paintings and wallpaper didn't illuminate a picture of familiar sort, even the cries of the birds sounded foreign. Ciel blinked quickly and shielded his eyes with his left arm, his breath shallowed by confusion and the full lack thereof. "S...Sebastian...?" The young lord's voice came out in a raspy tone, it had not been used for quite sometime, so even that surprised him. He dared not to lift his gaze for in fear that the sunlight would hurt him even more than the realization that both Ciel and Sebastian were no longer in the full circle of everything. Ah yes, that seemingly useless circle we all like to call life, the strange piano keys ushered forth yet again at the the very thought. The sounds pull humans forward and upward until they reach a state known as death, Ciel hears it clear as day now, but it's lack of meaning is now for some reason making it distant from himself; breaking the circle.

The clock finally stopped tolling, allowing a speck of curiosity to brave him up and look at his butler. He hasn't, hadn't, changed from the last memory he had of him, his features remained calm and complex even now. Very slowly did Ciel lower his arm to his side, he hadn't sat up yet, for the force of gravity and fatigue was keeping him at bay. "Where...are we? Nothing here...nothing...it doesn't feel right at all...it's all so wrong." Ciel blinked again, but more slowly this time as the minor details shifted into focus. He ran a hand through his blue hair, the sensation of it was firing up his nerves and sense of touch, but even so, nothing felt normal anymore.

Feh, normalcy...no wonder I clung onto it for so long.

It had a nice ring to it now, normalcy. Like everything would just go and fit back into place in the world, foreign and unwanted things fading away into oblivion would be a blessing any normal creature, man and animal alike, would die for. Dying...and being normal. Two things Ciel had last come to accept so long ago was now thrown out the window like garbage, if it had no more meaning to him anymore, what was he to feel then? Empty? Depressed? No, that would be to boring. But then again, life nowadays would seem to be boring had he not chosen to wake today, but earlier. Ciel sighed and turned his head over to the door to his "bedroom" as he continued speaking, "Wrong and out of place would be a simple way to lable this current situation, wouldn't it Sebastian...? I hope you wern't casuing to much trouble while I was asleep."

"Over the centuries, mankind has tried many ways of combating the forces of evil... prayer, fasting, good works and so on. Up until Doom, no one seemed to have thought about the double-barrel shotgun. Eat lead death, demon."

For a few moments, Sebastian had thought of going to sit down and read a book for a while, but, then Ciel's eyes began to flutter open slowly, as if an answer to his mostly rhetorical question. He wasn't sure whether or not he should say something, so instead he simply watched his young master react to the over abundance of light, moving over him to somewhat block out the light, even if just a little.Once his name had been called, Sebastian could feel something deep inside himself quiver, as if a switch had just been flipped and existence would no longer be so dull.It was then that he let his trademark grin cascade his perfect features, as if completing some sort of puzzle that had long been missing the pieces. In a soft, lulling tone, he whisped out,"Yes, my Lord, what is it you desire?"Of course, he really didn't expect an immediate answer, so instead of waiting around while Ciel looked upon him, Sebastian walked over to the curtains, closing them a bit to make his master more comfortable. He then paced back to the bedside and began to pour a cup of tea for his, now awakened, master, letting its sweet fumes fill the air and perhaps stir a hunger within the immortal child. He set the cup on its saucer, his grin still on his face as he did so and set the pot down before tucking a bit of hair behind his ear.'He still seems rather weak.Probably from not feasting on souls yet and having pressed his luck with that nap of his.Well, that shall be attended to later', he thought silently. He was rather looking forward to seeing how Ciel took his new eating habits.

As he tidied minor things about the room, Sebastian listened to the sounds of Ciel moving in the bed, feeling his senses perk and hone on his small master almost instantly, as if against his will.Ciel's words brought a near-silent chuckle to the elder demon as he walked over to the boy's side once more, kneeling down so he was closer to the other."Of course not, my Lord.I've only tended to you in your sleep and taken the utmost care that you weren't discovered.Enough of that though, you must be hungry.I've prepared food and tea.You need to regain your strength", he purred, the color of his ruby eyes glimmering brightly.
