The roar of the crowd vibrated through the ground and up through the soles of each troll, as they stood and sat around the ring of the arena. Here and there, trolls weighed down with snack dispersion units staggered down the aisles, but even they stopped and craned their heads towards the arena as the two gates on either side of the pit opened.
Sitting high up in her royal box, Regina flourished a microphone, then, taking a deep breath, leaned over and bellowed into it.
"Laydeeees ayynnnnd gentletroooolls! Ooon the right, weighing in at something colossal, from New Hemisect City, iits Opimus Fellah! Aaaaand on the left, if you look closely you can see him under the hair, another troll from New Hemisect, give a cheer for Aaaaaprife Invasi!"
Trolls who are watching the battle can post in this thread. While battles are posted ooc all at the same time, ic battles are one after the other. If your troll is in another battle, they can still post as a spectator.
Battlers please post using the shout post style, spectators please post using the whisper post style.
Battlers, remember to roll first, then edit to write your post. Please write at least three sentences each post!

The rustblood was still reeling from being told he was signed up for a fight and promptly shoved into the arena for his first battle. He really had little idea what was going on. Fellah's eyes darted around from side to side looking at the spectators and then at the new empress, narrating the fight from her stand. He had to take a second to look her way, maybe it was a tad rude or unconventional but Fellah had never seen the planets ruler before. It was a lot for a country troll like him to take in.
Fellah took a couple moments before he noticed Aprife was the troll opposite him. He had met him once before, in the city. It made the whole fight even more peculiar since he actually knew the troll that he was supposed to fight. The lumbering oaf wasn't really quite comfortable with the whole prospect of what was going on. He stepped forward a bit hesitant, fiddling with his broken overall strap not used to having so many trolls watching him.
"Uh...h-hey Aprife," Fellah said, he still looked thrown off kilter and quite nervous, "S-So...this is a fight?" he had to ask to make sure. He was standing pretty rigidly, clenching and un-clenching both his fingers and toes, trying not to listen to all the hollering coming from the stands. He was a pretty pathetic, that much was certain.

During his rather humorous introduction, Aprife found himself laughing and shaking his mop of hair, lifting his head just enough to look up at the queen. There wasn't a lot of time to enjoy the moment before he realized, however. This was a battle. As much as his earlier pestering around the crowds had taken his mind off of the inevitable, being here, surrounded by trolls cheering for blood, it all came tumbling back on him. Head slowly falling, he peered between his bangs at the large, familiar troll that was his opponent. Fellah. And no matter how unbelievably friendly he knew this other troll was, the fact still remained that he was huge. Aprife's tiny frame looked like nothing in comparison.
"Fellaaah… Hey, bro." The greeting was absentminded as the yellowblood's hand tightened around the handle of his scourge. "Good… night for a fight, huh?" The attempt at a joke fell pretty significantly short, but Aprife still tried to laugh. It was weak, easily drowned out by the roaring of the spectators. They were obviously getting impatient with the stalling. "We, uh," eyes darted to the queen again, "we gotta get goin'."

Fellah heard the crowds roar pick up, they didn't know why the hell the two of them weren't going at each others throats yet. The redblood held his shovel close to himself, glancing around his little brain buzzed with confusion.
His attention shifted back to Aprife when he started talking. It didn't seem really fair that he'd have to fight the much smaller troll. He wasn't confident about his fighting abilities in the least but still, Aprife was tiny and unsuspecting. Fellah really didn't want to hurt him.
"Uh...y-yeah guess you're right," he said backing up a bit and picking up his shovel shakily, "N-No hard feelings Aprife..." he said looking much sadder than a troll should for being in a fight, "S-Sorry," he said as he jolted back stiff as the trolls in the stands were getting even more ornery and loud. Shutting his eyes Fellah hoisted his shovel and swinged it blindly in Aprife's general direction. He was pretty sure that the yellowblood was at least able to see it coming.

"No hard feelings," Aprife muttered, frowning a bit as his acquaintance-turned-opponent began the almost bumbling charge. For a moment he stared, eyes locked on eyelids. What was this guy doing? There's no way he could fight right with his eyes closed. Fingers clenched so tightly around his weapon that knuckles turned ashy. He danced away from the swing and raised his own weapon. "Hey, keep your eyes open, man!" He shouted, finally finding his voice again. Even if his shoulders were literally shaking with the prospect of getting smacked around by this giant, shovel-wielding troll, he found himself saying so. Not that he didn't mentally curse himself afterwards for trying to sabotage his own handicap. Tsking, he swung his weapon, catching some skin, but the swing was obviously softer than it should have been.

Fellah opened his eyes when Aprife told him to do so, he was a little relieved that he hadn't hit his opponent, though he was also just in time to feel a tiny bite from Aprife's whip. He yelped a bit, more out of surprise than anything else. He was a bit taken off guard by the attack so he made another lazy swing toward his opponent. It wasn't a very good swing, he still didn't have his head in the game.
"S-Sorry..." he said realizing that he was even letting Aprife down, "I'll try harder," it wasn't that convincing of a statement.

It didn't take much to just sort of bounce out of the way again. Maybe being smaller really was a benefit, if only because it seemed like he could slip right under the swings without much work. "Maaan," he drew out. "You're makin' this too easy!" Being antagonistic wasn't exactly his purpose, but spewing jokes and acting haughty always made him feel better when he was nervous. At least it had helped his shoulders stop shivering. "C'mon!" Finding himself at Fellah's back, he swung his whip again and again landed a weaker snap.

Fellah was once again taken by surprise at the whip this time at his back side. He grew a little flushed in the face. He'd seen whips and stuff in a couple of his dating simulators before but this was a battle, this was different and not the place to be thinking about his stupid video games.
The rustblood tried (not very hard) to take another swing as he turned around, whiffing right over Aprife's head once more.

There was a little bit of wind on the last swing as it flew over him, but even that didn't cause him to stumble backwards the way the slight flush on Fellah's cheeks did. It was always more obvious for redbloods. Mouth slipping open, he raised a brow until he realized what he was doing. Pay attention, pay attention. As the shovel finished its swoop overhead, he took the opportunity. Fellah had left himself wide open with that one, unfortunately. As the battle continued on, Aprife found himself falling into a better groove. He still frowned as his whip came snapping down again, but there was a bit more force behind it than there had been before.

Fellah wasn't the brightest when it came covering his openings. Those whippings were really starting to sting too; and after his last pathetic attempt at swinging his shovel the rustblood got a good taste of leather across his chest and belly. This time the attack was a bit more harsh and Fellah instinctively brought his arms down to cover himself, in the process he brought his shovel down on the yellowblooded troll still in front of him with quite a bit of force. "S-Sorry!" he said quickly once he realized he made contact. He felt awful that he actually made contact with his opponent, even if that was the purpose of a fight.

Minist had been watching the fight is awe. Awed at how completely incompetent the redblood was. When he finally made contact she screamed, "What's the matter with you?! Don't apologize! Hit him again!" She didn't have much yellowblood solidarity. She really didn't care who won in this fight, but watching the big buffoon bumble around made her grind her teeth. "Use that shovel and make your lusus proud!" She really had no idea what his lusus was like, but she couldn't imagine a lusus approving of his abysmal performance.

Should have moved out of the way first. Opening or not, Aprife should have gotten his little bum out of the line of fire before retaliating. Maybe calming down was a bad thing after all. When he was on edge, he seemed to dodge better. This time he barely had a chance to look up before the shovel contacted. At first it didn't hurt, but soon a sharp, throbbing pain spread across his face. Shouldn't have looked up, either. Dear gog. Stumbling backwards, his free hand shot up and clutched at his cheek, then his eye, then his nose as bright yellow blood began to ooze from it. "OW s**t." Snorting as the blood started to drip down his chin, he blearily looked at his opponent. He was dizzy. His head and nose were throbbing. And someone, who the heck was that, was yelling something from the stands. It was too hard to make out and now wasn't the time to be worrying about it. If he continued to hesitate, Fellah would get another hit in while he was still reeling. Cursing again, he half-ran, half-stumbled back in and sidestepped before bringing his whip down.

Fellah wasn't sure what to do. He automatically felt awful, regardless of the jeering he was receiving from the stands. Yes he was aware that he shouldn't be apologizing in a fight but he couldn't really help it, "Are...you okay Aprife?" he asked receiving the little crack of the whip with a bit of a flinch but it didn't sting too badly.
Fellah stepped closer to Aprife, he wanted to try and see how badly he had hit him in the face. In doing so however he managed to trip over his own foot and whack Aprife again with his shovel.

The tails of the scourge flopped against Aprife's pant leg as his arm dropped almost uselessly. So much for that hit. Enough sense had filtered back into his addled think pan that he realized he would have to hit much harder than that if he wanted to do enough damage to get out of this fight quickly. He was nervous again. Fighting was hard, he just wasn't physically built for this kind of thing. Lifting his face to Fellah again, he had to crack a grin. This guy… how had he even gotten along in their society at all? In the short time he was allotted to think between punches, he felt a significant surprise at the fact that the redblood hadn't been eaten alive yet. Maybe it was his size. He was big, intimidatingly so, but if anyone got close enough to see his expressions, to hear his voice, they would certainly know otherwise.
Before he even had a chance to even debate answering, though, he was smacked in the shoulder and went tumbling to the ground. He could tell it had been an accident, but he hissed aloud and mentally cursed himself for letting his guard down again. Stop thinking so much. Just. Fight. "Gotta keep going, buddy…" He forced out between clenched teeth as he quickly scraped to his feet. Flipping the whip around in his hand, he then used the force of both hands to drive the end of the handle against the other troll's side.

Fellah felt bad once again when he accidentally whacked Aprife in the shoulder, "Aww heck, I-I'm sorry," he said trying to keep it quieter. He was hoping the spectators wouldn't hear him, he was just plain awful at fighting and he was figuring that out quickly.
The redblood didn't have much of a guard so it wasn't too difficult for Aprife to get in there and knock the wind right out of Fellah. He fumbled with his shovel as he bent to the side, the spade missing Aprife as it tumbled out of one hand and clumsily caught by the other. It was a pretty tough hit from such a small troll, "N-Nice shot," he wheezed, glad that Aprife was good at this whole fighting thing at least.
