[BATT] Battle Royale Round 1 (Minist vs Zeffer)

The roar of the crowd vibrated through the ground and up through the soles of each troll, as they stood and sat around the ring of the arena. Here and there, trolls weighed down with snack dispersion units staggered down the aisles, but even they stopped and craned their heads towards the arena as the two gates on either side of the pit opened.

Sitting high up in her royal box, Regina flourished a microphone, then, taking a deep breath, leaned over and bellowed into it.

"Laydeeees ayynnnnd gentletroooolls! Ooon the right, a scrraaappy little lowblood with nothing to loose, allllllll the way from Chittentown, leeets give a hand for Miniiiiiiiiist Outill! Aaaaand on the left, you've seen him, you know him, you've chased him off your lawnring, from our very own Four Fronds, Zeffeeeeeeer Siroco!"

Trolls who are watching the battle can post in this thread. While battles are posted ooc all at the same time, ic battles are one after the other. If your troll is in another battle, they can still post as a spectator.

Battlers please post using the shout post style, spectators please post using the whisper post style.

Minist stepped out into the arena, the sound of the crowd pushing in on her auricular sponge clots. She looked up to the royal box and saw Regina. Her smile grew as she heard the queen introduce her. Then she brought her gaze down to Zeffer. What a better way to start a friendship than with a good battle, right? Wrench in hand she darted towards him. She tried to swing at his side, but she wasn't as close as she thought she had been. Swinging at air was not a good way to start the battle.

Zeffer had followed Minist all the way through the entry hall, and here they were for their very first official battle. Funny that they'd managed to befriend each other only to be paired together for the fight. He grinned at the crowd, turning a circle to get a good look at the coliseum and its spectators, and laughing as Regina introduced Minist first, and then himself. He was ultimately glad that he'd signed up. This was going to be great fun.

Once the introductions had been covered, he quickly unhooked his batons from his belt and brought them to life before darting at Minist in turn. He barely managed to miss her first swipe, but also missed himself as he took a swing at her, just barely. He skidded to a halt and quickly turned to face his opponent once more, hopping from foot to foot, getting himself all revved up.

So he likes to play with electricity, huh? All the more fun. Still, she'd rather not get hit by those things. Thankfully avoiding being hit she spun around to face him again. Once more she charged at him and swung with her wrench. Landing a hit, if albeit a weak one.

Zeffer wasn't so quick to dodge it altogether this time, and let out a yalp as the wrench connected with his shoulder. Ouch, that was gonna leave a bruise. He swiftly and, with a bit more accuracy than before, retaliated. He swung hard and got a good jab at his yellowblooded opponent, earning him the satisfying 'BZZAP' sound that happened when either baton connected with a target. Gotcha~ He darted away from Minist so that he could charge in again, moving constantly, seeking perhaps to tire her out a little.

'BZZAP' Ouch, that hurt. Talk about shocking experiences. Minist shook her head to steady herself. Finding where he darted off to she charged at him, aiming her swing at his head. Missing again. She was not happy with her lack of results so far.

It looked like all the combat practice Arcus had insisted on was paying off a little bit. He leapt back away from Minist's next attack and landed another sharp smack to her, once again rewarded with another loud ZAP. He was grinning like a shark as he circled her, waiting for her to come at him again.

"Come on Min, you've got more fight in you than that."

It was a half tease, half encouragement. He'd gotten intense for the first few minutes, but now that he felt himself warming up, he was more confident, more playful. Eager to show what he was made of.

"Oh don't worry, I've got plenty left in me." she said with a grin. She feinted to the left and then dashed around his right. Then she brought down her wrench on the center of his back. While she may have taken some hits and certainly wasn't on the winning side so far she was enjoying herself.

"OW, ********>" he howled as she hit him square in the back, and cackled after. Zeffer was one of those trolls who had that possibly annoying habit of laughing when it wasn't quite appropriate, like when he was struck or hurt. He bit his lip and tried to rub the spot as he darted away, only to come back around and jump at her with a snarl, getting a good jab at her side. He was trying to step it up...so far he'd only gotten in pokes and jabs...he knew he needed to wind back and hit hard if he wanted to win this thing.

"Damn right you do! Come on, show me more then." he said, panting softly as he bounced back again, watching her through wide, manic eyes.

She winced as he jabbed her side.The accompanying electrical current made her grind her teeth. Despite her boasting she was already starting to feel tired. Hearing Regina's speech had made her blood start pumping and then she was on an adrenalin rush since, but that didn't change the fact that she had traveled a long way and now she had some bruises to add. She swung her arm wildly at him in hopes of landing a hit to his face, but no such luck.

Zeffer couldn't help but feel a surge of pride at how the fight was going. All the workouts he was forced to do made him appreciate having a bit of an edge. Maybe it was something he'd do willingly with Arcus, now, instead of complaining like he usually did. He zipped around his opponent, and ducked quickly to avoid a damaging blow to his face. Close, but no cigar there! He jabbed at her back in turn before hopping away, grinning devilishly. It was undeniable that he was toying with her a little bit, but it was all in good fun. Unfortunately (or maybe not) for Minist, his weapons were not the kind to draw blood, but would leave little electrical burns everywhere they managed to connect with flesh, if he hit hard enough.

She tried to follow his movements, but was too slow and received a hit to the back. Thankfully not as hard as the one she had delivered to his. Still, she wasn't like the electric shocks she kept receiving. She crouched down and pushed off the ground, heading straight for him. She delivered a blow to the stomach before streaking past him and turning around to hop lightly between her feet.

He lost his concentration for a moment, and there she was to slam him right in the stomach. He stumbled, and doubled over, coughing to try and catch his breath. "Guh!! Damn, girl..." he wiped a trail of blue spittle from his mouth and chin, sucked in a breath, and kept moving, knowing he couldn't afford to slow down. He came at her again with another light swat. It seemed like he was just going to break her down one piece at a time, at this rate. He wasn't running out of steam quite yet (or so he thought), but just how long did the b*****d plan on drawing it out??

She put her arms up to block and was surprised to be met with another light hit. It would have been great if he killed the juice to his weapons, though. She felt like she might be a walking generator after the battle was over. "Come on, don't play with me." she laughed. She tried to dash past him and give him another swiping blow, but she lost her footing and stumbled off to the left. Cursing herself she steadied her feet and readied herself to face him again.

"And ruin all the fun?" Zeffer snickered along with her, letting her charge at him, just looking for an opening. She dashed up close, but her stumble would cost her, because he swung back and let his right hand come smashing down. ZZZZT! It was a much harsher blow than before. He almost felt bad, knowing how much the electricity smarted, but he was the type to take every advantage he could find. That wrench had hurt like a mofo, but maybe she was just off her game today.
