(( This mission thread is for those who are NOT participating in the field portion of Aria's 2AM Text Message Mission~ )) "Do you see that?" Aria asked, pointing to a rather sad looking pile. "That is why we have a defense or home team. Just look at this!" The mist leader walked over to the lean-to and kicked it, sending the haphazardly arranged pillars of metal leaning to one side. They fell with a loud clatter, one pole bouncing and rolling away from the resulting pile. She eyed it scornfully, muttering something darkly about how that particular cage better not have been built by a Mist or there would be hell to pay. The trainees and mist leader were standing out on the training field, near the facilities where captured specimens were kept. As part of her mission, Aria instructed teams to research, train, build, and prepare for a mission. It was quite obvious which groups kept a balance approach, and which ones slacked off. It was, in a way, almost painful to look at. Aria gestured to the wreckage. "Clean that up, rebuild it proper. It's a cage, not a shanty-house in Shanghai. You lot are to build a perimeter to secure the area. Make sure whatever the other teams bring back stays in either their cages or the pen. If any get out, you lot get to be the first defense." She turned, and pointed towards a stack of materials nearby. "Over there you'll find supplies. Build a fence in an octagon shape, as that'll be more sturdy and easier to put up than a four-sided square. This area better be secure by the time the other trainees return from their field trip with their... guests." Finally at long last, the abrupt Mist leader turned towards the trainees. "If you have questions, ask now. Otherwise, I have things to attend to." Man, what a b***h.Quote: THE OOC:It's time to set up a perimeter around the traps everyone created for this mission! Because let's face it: some of those cages don't look like they'd even keep a cat. The perimeter you guys will be putting up has eight sections. In order to build up a section, please pick a material and use it to build: Quote: Materials:Wood: 1d6 Brick: 1d8 Stone: 1d4 Chain Link: 1d10 There are eight sections total. Every section needs a minimum of 25 "hp" to be considered "built." You can continue rolling on a section even after you hit the minimum requirement in order to reinforce it, however you can only use ONE type of material per section of the fence. ie, if you use bricks to build section 1, you can only roll for bricks for that section. If you want to use wood, you will have to start construction on another section. After building a section, you can choose to "enhance" it. Quote: Enhancements:+ Barbed Wire + Electric Fencing + Spikes + Pit + Moat + Running Water (requires moat) You can have up to two enhancements per section. In a nutshell: + Pick a type of material. + Roll that dice until you hit the minimum amount of 25. + Decide whether or not to add an enhancement to the section. + Repeat until all eight sections have been built. + Be sure to note which section you're building on. + In addition, work together to keep track of what section's done, which isn't, and which section is built out of what material and has what enhancements! Suggested Tracker Working on:+ Section # -- Material: -- Enhancements: Completed:+ Section # -- Material: -- Enhancements: + Section # -- Material: -- Enhancements: etc. Sections can have more than 25; 25 merely means that a fence has been built. Don't forget you have that cage to rebuild! Pick a material and enhancement. The cage needs to reach 50hp~

Before felt bad for not properly pulling his weight in the mission. And as cutting as some of Aria's remarks were, the teal-eyed Life trainee agreed they could have done better. Once their materials were shown, Before side-eyed his teammates and stated, "Imma go work now," and proceeded to work on Section One. He decided a chain link would be the best to use because... okay he's not sure but if this were like the three little piggies and the big bad wolf, he sure as ******** would want a chain link fence protecting him!Tracker Working on:+ Section 1 -- Material: Chain link -- Enhancements:

So his first attempt was so-so. Okay, most of it fell on him the first time around but his second try was obviously better! Before continued to work on Section One, wiping his brow with the back of his hand every now and again. He fought the urge to look over his shoulder to check on his teammate's progression. Well, actually, now that he thought about it, it felt more like they were simply a group rather than a team. There! That ought to do it! Before wiped the sweat from his brow, thinking this took longer than it should before he went off to decide what sort of enhancement it needed. Searching through the available material, he decided (frighteningly) to go with electricity. Hey, it was a metal fence, why wouldn't it be electrified? :33333

One section down, seven more to go... Before sighed as he went to start work on the second section. Before was doing better with this section than the first. Apparently he did have the ability to learn from past experiences! Who knew? As much as she hated to admit it, Aria made a good point; which might be why she just nodded and left to do what was required of her, feeling a little disappointed in herself... However, her feelings caused her to brood a little at the start of the mission, and she found herself doing not very much at all.

Embarrassed but not discouraged, Before picked himself back up and continued to work on the second section. Deciding that it was enough, he went and got barbed wire to put atop the second section. She slowly got better at using the chain link, although it still gave her a bit of trouble; however, seeing Before hard at work, she decided not to let it show and continued on.

Seeing Ariane was working on Section 3, Before picked up the last pieces of the chain link he'd been using and brought them over to Section 4. Things were going swimmingly it seemed. Moving to and from the material area to Section 4 took longer than Before expected. Also, he was getting a little tired from having worked on two sections all by himself. "Almost there," She muttered softly to herself, putting the chain links together, making sure that everything was secured; it would be bad if the target escaped after all that hard work everyone had put into this mission!
