Mission 3 Prompts

  1. Your group manages to find their way back to the helicopter. The hunters who flew you in are still there, and look at your group with disapproval until the group turns around and goes back to work.

  2. Somehow your group wound up on a beach on the other side of the island. You suddenly wonder which is more fun to build: a sand castle, or a snow castle...

  3. Your group takes a break. A huge load of nothing happens, except someone shakes a pebble out of their boot.

  4. While searching, your group stumbles upon a waterfall completely frozen. Your group decides to take a break and rest here for a bit.

  5. The bushes near your group rustle, and before you know it a rabbit jumps out. It catches sight of the group, freezes, then turns fail and flees!

  6. Your group encounters a large group of -- oh, no, wait. It's just another trainee group. Hopefully they wouldn't mind that you nearly attacked them...

  7. Your group encounters a creature that you're pretty sure is your prey! Unfortunately it manages to spot you first, and flees! Try again... in an hour.

  8. A figure drops down from the trees, weapon drawn and leveled at your group! A Sun Hunter gets the drop on you. She laughs at your expense, but the situation has left your group on high alert. Add +3 points to the group total of DRILLS.

  9. Your group finds the creature you're after! And by "finds" I mean the creature charges out of the bushes and runs everyone over. Combat has begun! Please see the Combat box below. Because it attacked first, everyone must subtract from their HP the damage the creature did when it charged the group.

  10. The group comes across a run-down building being examined by a team of more experienced Moon Hunters. They rope your group into assisting them. Your group must now wait two hours to roll again. But on the plus side, you can now add +5 points to your group's BUILDING total.

  11. Your group encounters an irate Death Hunter who explains that the noise the group was making managed to scare off the specimen they were studying. Wisely, your group decides to retreat. Quickly.

  12. While your group is out exploring, they encounter a Life Hunter gathering samples of the local flora for research purposes. She gives you a few tips; +5 to the group total of PREP WORK.

  13. There it is! The creature you were looking for, you're sure of it! It doesn't seem to have noticed the group; your group may launch a surprise attack. Please see the Combat quote box below.

  14. The group finds a trail of footprints and decides to follow it! ...turns out they're your own foot prints. Roll again in TWO hours from this post.

  15. You find a plant! Is your group's RESEARCH skill over 125? If it is, you recall this particular plant acting sort of like catnip towards the thing you're after. +3 to your next capture roll; after that the effect is lost. (One use only!)

  16. Hey? Where did so'n'so go? You... lost someone. WHELP better spend the next hour looking for them, you guess.

  17. You know what time it is? BREAK TIME! Take five, reroll again in 30 min.

  18. Your group couldn't resist. You guys are out in the middle of the forest, and nobody's around to see. Who can blame you for slacking off on the mission long enough for a snowball fight?

  19. Is that it?! Your group perks up when you see something duck into a cave. Your group follows it, ready to spring into action. The group's excitement plummets when they realize that it's a bear. Now the question is... do you fight? Or do you flee?

-> Flee! Reroll again in an hour.
-> Fight! See the Combat quote box below. And yes, you can capture the bear if you want to... but then the mission's over. Is it a failure? Success? You won't know until you drag it back!

  20. While searching, your group notices an additional party member. It's a Mist Hunter, who points out that they were walking alongside the group for the past ten minutes and nobody noticed until now. The hunter gives some tips on tracking before fading away into the jungle.

-> You may now ALTER your next roll by two. If you roll a 6, this means you can pick option 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8. You still need to wait for the next hour to roll, however.

Quote:

COMBAT!
+ ONE PERSON generate a number between 5 and 10.
+ QUOTE WHOMEVER YOU ARE TALKING TO PLEASE~
+ Your target has 50 hp.
+ Whenever you attack, your target will counter-attack YOU for the amount one of your group members generated.
+ You can attack as many times as you want so long as you take the counter-damage.
+ Tally up the damage you did to the NPC'd opponent. In addition, please note its current HP.
+ Be creative! Do you jump on its back and try to subdue it? Shoot it? Throw a stick at it?
+ If it runs out of HP, you have failed the mission. Report back to the helicopter.
+ What is the amount of your DRILL?

Quote:
DRILL AMOUNTS:
+ 25: No extra effect.
+ 50: -2 from all attacks against you. You're somewhat prepared.
+ 75: -3 from all attacks against you. You're prepared.
+ 100: ...did you do nothing BUT drills? You're overprepared. -5 from all attacks against you.

ie, if the target counterattacks for 7 damage and you have 50 points in drill, you take only 5 damage. (7-2=5)

To Capture:
When the creature is at 20hp or less, you can try to capture it. If you are attempting a capture, please roll 2d20. The first dice represents your attempt; the second dice is the creature's. If the creature's roll is higher than your's, take x2 damage.

If you roll higher than the creature, then secure your target and haul it back to the chopper. Mission success.

Having been walking in this forest with her group as she keep here eyes on any signs of what they had been after. Tori then sees that someone had joined up with them and spotting that it was a Mist Hunter. She couldn't believe that the Mist Hunter had been walking with them and she failed to noticed, but Tori's regards to Mist Hunters when up as they must have really good skills to be so ninja like and Tori listened carefully to what the Mist Hunter had to say on tracking and remembering all of what was said.

Wilson jumped when he realized a Mist Hunter had been tailing them, but at least they offered some useful advice. He nodded his head before moving forward. His ears picked up a sound and he followed it. Although he managed to spot a flicker of movement in the plants, his noisy boots crunching against the snow scared it away, whatever it was. Scratching his head, Wilson sighed. “I wonder how long this will take?” he mused aloud before he glanced down and spotted a familiar plant. “Hey!” Gingerly, he went down on his knees and carefully uprooted the plant. “I remember this plant acts like catnip for the creature.” He grinned. “I’m going to keep this for later then.”

Soon after finding the "catnip", they happened to run into a full fledged Life Hunter who was gathering some other kinds of plants. Tedan paused for a moment and watched her, wondering if any of those also would help with their capture. Once she noticed him, the trainee was quick to tell her why they were here. And indeed, she did have a few tips for them. Tedan pulled out his phone and made a few notes there, then sent the notes to everyone else on the team - just in case. "Thanks!" he said with a quick grin as they headed off again.

He had been walking along with the rest of his group when he paused to examine another plant. Was it the same species as before? Maybe he could use it—then Wilson looked closer and he realized that it wasn’t the same plant from before. It was completely useless. He frowned and stood up, looked around—uh…”Guys?” He called out, but no one was there. Looks like he’d gotten himself lost. Wilson smacked his forehead before hastily pulling out his cellphone.

-beep beep beep beep- Just what leon needed to hear. his cellphone ringing that could alarm the beast.
Begrudgingly, he pulled out his phone from the back and put it to his ear and groaned at the effort involved. "Hello?" ......... "Wilson, what the hell man, get back onto the path and stop staring at the plants!" he barked out at the bloke and promptly hung up on him before whirling around in case the masked hunter came out of the woodwork.

Literally.

However the rustling of leaves still caught the life hunter off guard as he grasped unsummoned form of Nid and held it at the ready. and a rabbit popped out and stared at him

When Vanessa had gotten the text at who-even-knows-how-early-in-the-morning, she promptly got up and made her way to where she was instructed. Once the helicopter had taken them out to the forests, she and her group had started searching. Not much had happened other than the Mist Hunter's appearance, although Wilson had somehow managed to get off the path after finding some kind of plant that would, apparently, be helpful.

As such, Vanessa was just looking for their prey with her group for now. Looking at the snow, Vanessa felt the sudden compulsion to analyze it closer up. She crouched down, checking the snow for any tracks. There seemed to be a slight indentation ot her side. A hole in the ground, perhaps? Curious, she began to push the snow away, only to find nothing. She did, however, have a little pile of snow now...

She picked it up, padding it down into a not-so-compact snowball. Something caught her eye through the trees, and she, for some reason (perhaps instinct?), found herself chucking the snowball toward it. The throw caught a breeze and veered slightly-off course. Right into one of her team mates. "Ah, sorry about that!" She called, slight dismay on her face at her accidental hit.

((Whoever wants to get hit by the snowball can be. l'D;; ))

Tori was glad that Wilson had found that plant as it could be helpful in capturing the creature. It was even good that they got some helpful tips from the Life Hunter. She did hope that they would come across the creature and when she was looking around that she got hit by a snow ball thrown by Vanessa.

"Its alright," she replied as that did look like a lot of fun and she just loved snow. So Tori also threw a snowball at one of her teammates as she giggled as it was thrown.

((If anyone want they can be hit by the snowball if they want))

Wilson laughed uneasily as he carefully held the phone away from his ears. “Ah ha. Yeah. Sorry dude.” Fortunately after a while he rejoined his group and happily stood by as a couple of them threw snowballs at each other. Rather, he chose to make snowmen a ways away. His snowmen were totally boss. He yelped when Tori’s snowball hit him, melted snow dribbling down his back. Wilson shuddered, but at least he was now more attentive enough to spy some tracks. “Hey, why don’t we follow them?"

After a couple hours, Wilson hung his head in defeat and rubbed the back of his neck. “Sorry guys, I guess I was wrong. Looks like the tracks were just us, hahaha…” He laughed awkwardly. However, as he brushed away some branches he froze and immediately turned back to silence the others. Slowly, Wilson mouthed the words “It’s over there” and pointed ahead.

'Its alright, stuff like that happens," Tori replied to reassure Wilson that it was alright in her book. She would have said more but when he motioned for them to be quiet. Watching carefully she caught what Wilson said as she quietly walked to where he was pointing and just before she attacked the creature she summoned her weapon.

She had managed to hit this creature but only barely before it hit her.

Carefully she sized up the creature as she tried to think of the best possible way of attacking the creature without killing it or it killing her. As she wanted to capture it for the mission.

Tori seeing an opening she attacked the creature again and once again only hitting it a little bit before she got hit.

Tori once more charged the creature as she kept on reminding herself not to kill the creature. She even hit the creature a little more this time, but she was getting a little frustrated that she wasn't hitting it for much.
