 Kai was off adventuring on the greater herd plains. He knew as his father had told him that there were very few evil Azrein here...however there were many new creatures afoot today as the young orange foal was about to find out. A grasshopper hopped away a few feet from him and the little foal went into stalking mode. His small hooves made nary a sound on the thick mat of grass. He crouched down and best he could on his long foal legs and slowly stepped after the evil grasshopper.
"How dare you invade the lands of my herd!" He yowled and pounced on his prey. Apparently someone had been idolizing Uncle Ion. He lifted a hoof and expected to be examining a squashed bug, however it seemed the little varmint had crawled under the grass mat just in time.
The foals hunting had taken him over a rise and as he looked up he was face to face with the oddest Azrein he had ever seen
"Wow!"

 Taftxuyu scratched the floor slightly with one of his front hooves, removing the long and older swats of grass to get to new and tenderly juicy shoots. The six legged direhorse seemed mostly relaxed, after all, being this many legged being, you could either trample the hell out of everything or flee so fast that their heads will spin. Be that as it may, his head snapped up when he heard a loud exclamation, giving a loud snort, yellow eyes narrowed until they spotted a rather loud colored foal. Well, that was mildly interesting....

Kai stared up at this new being. He was so tall and had such an odd name. One two three four....five, SIX legs and these wonderful tentacle things...Kai was fascinated.
"Um hello there..My name is Kai Darksun. What is yours?" If the foals eyes grew any bigger they would probably pop out of his head. "You must be really fast." the foal concluded. This horse was a very pretty color but Kai didn't want to insult him by calling him pretty.

Curious little thing, wasn't he? Taft lower his head, his tentacles moving forward slightly, showing his own interest. He really didn't understand how these creatures balance on only four legs and manes and tails were just plain weird. "I am taftxuyu, little one." He chuckled. "Yes, very observant of you, i am very fast."

Kai's little face lit up and he nodded happily. "You have a very interesting name Taftxuyu, I've never seen someone as spectacular looking as you, are you from around here? My home and herd is not too far, we live by the lake. I'm out exploring with my Daddies permission, as long as I am careful anyway. So instead of hunting the six...I am hunting...wait for it...Grasshoppers. Those most evil of villains." The foal grinned up at the mysterious Azrein.

The strange stallion laughed softly. "Yes, grasshoppers are extremely evil." He smiled. "So your herd is nearby, that's good to hear." For what he could tell, they were good, he really hadn't look forward to having to report a herd of bad azreins with foals to his bonded.

"Yes, my Uncle Ion, the leader of the herd bonded to the Grand Duke at the castle." The little foals eyes sparkled. "The Duke is good to climb on. Dad says I can't do it on a smaller human though or I might squish them. I find that hard to believe 'cause I'm so small. Daddy says I will grow though...were you ever this small?"

Taft searched his memory for a moment, recalling Morpheus mentioning something about a castle, thought he couldn't recall him mentioning anyone besides a king. "Well, you probably will grow to be as big as your father, most humans tend to be small little things." He smiled. "Yes, I was once small as you. Your dad was once as small as you too, you know."

"He was?!" the foal gasped. "You were too? You and Dad are huge!" The foal bounced and capered around in his delight. "Imagine the grasshoppers I could catch then!" He hopped and bucked some more and then cam back to gently touch the new azrein on the nose. "Thank you, Taftxuyu. I'm gonne get big and I'm gonna be fast like you and my Dad." The little foal puffed up and marched around some. Too much energy for one body.

The alien azrein laughed as he watched the excited little foal. "I look forward to racing you, then, little one. " Taft smile, bumping his nose lightly against Kai's. "Perhaps you'll be able to even win..." Yeah, right, only if Taft suddenly became thirty years older or had a split hoof will any of these four legged creatures ever go faster then him. Taft knew his vanity laid in his speed, he wouldn't deny it, at least when it came to azreins like this little boy.

As the other azrein's nose bumped him the little foals tail stood on end and his ears pricked forward.
"I look forward to the day," he said calmly but his entire body vibrated with his excitement. He had a goal now. Soon all his energy got the better of him an he shot straight up in the air, legs flailing and he bucked and kicked around once he landed.

Taft could shamelessly say that watching this young one's energy actually made him feel ever so tire. Good Eywa, where did he get all that energy from? Shaking his head, he stop halfway in the motion and his antennas perked up, turning his head, he looked around, scanning the tree lines. ".....Little one, i believe we should be moving...perhaps closer to your herd..."

Kai froze, his eyes wide. "What is it, what is out there?" The foal quivered with alertness. If they had to run, he would never be able to keep up with the six legged horse. His red eyes scanned the area searching and hunting for whatever had spooked the larger stallion. One of the six? One of the big cats down from the mountains? A rabid Bayrel? Not that bayrel ever got sick so that was probably not it....hmmmm.

"Shhh....." He whispered. "Do not panic...Start walking with me..." The stallion started to walk. "I can smell old blood and I highly doubt its an injure azrein...." He pushed his head against the foal to get him moving. "Just start moving, we need to get in a place with larger number of us." He was severely worried, as who he was, he could outrun or trample anything that came his way, but with a foal by his side, he feared whatever predator was lurking would bypass him just to get to this little one. "Come on....."

Kai did as he was told. And moved forward at a seemingly unhurried pace, so as not to trigger a hunting instinct in whoever was watching them. Kai started to turn toward where his herd was as they were probably the closest group of Azrein. He watched Taft intently, alert for any change in body language that would tell the foal to run or hide.
