The little green Unicorn clippy-clopped around his stable humming a soft tune. He had just groomed himself, like the meticulous groomer he was, and was in the kitchen looking for something to reward himself with. After all, taking care of his mane and tail was such hard work, why shouldn't he be rewarded right? And what his dark orange gaze landed on was that ever so tempting jar of cookies. They had to be freshly baked, they smelled so good. His mouth almost watered he wanted one so bad. But instead of using a hoof, he wanted to try to use his horn. Unicorns had magic, and he needed practice, so with a ton of concentrated effort, he aimed to hover that cookie jar right over to him. All went well for the first five seconds....before he got nervous and lost control, causing the cookie jar to shatter to the ground before his hoofs. Dark orange eyes wide in panic, Hyd glanced one way, then the other, then dashed to his room to play innocent. Mother would surly be upset and he didn't want to get in trouble.

When Yawn was jolted awake by a sudden crashed, she was far more startled then angry. She tottered upright and staggered away from her cushion pile in order to find out what the noise had been. She blinked at the cookie and jar shard covered floor. Oh dear.
The gentle Phony slowly began to clean up the mess, using her own unicorn magic to move everything into the rubbish bin. Now, how exactly had it fallen? Yawn saved some of the cookies, putting them aside on a small plate.
“I-is anyone in?” She called out. If Tangles was home he would have already come running from the crash. Yawn headed towards the her childrens rooms.

Hydrangea dashed about his room, trying to find something to occupy himself so he would seem busy. Suddenly he squinted his eyes shut tight, concentrated on a brush with his magic, and began running it through his hair. When his mother called out, he let out a tiny yip, dropping the brush before grabbing it with his hoof. "Hello Mother! Are... are you ok? I heard a sound...." he said in his best innocent voice he could muster.

Yawn shuffled into Hydrangea’s room, giving her son a loving smile. “Everything is fine. The cookie jar fell over.” She obviously did not suspect her son in the slightest as she made her way over, sitting down just behind him. “C-can I help?” With her own magic she picked the brush back up and began working on his hair. “I managed to save some… o-of the cookies that is… did you want one?”

When his mother took the brush form him and began brushing out his mane, his head tossing back in utter bliss as she ran the bristles through his tangle free mane. A pleasant smile crept over his lips as he thought he might just get off scott free. And then... she offered him a cookie. Goodness gracious did he ever want a cookie! But somehow he felt this weird feeling inside of him which made him hesitate. "I...i would like one...yes.....oh how did it fall over? That's very... curious." says as he shifts a bit uncomfortable like.

Mmm.” Yawn made a soft sleepy sound as she continued to brush her son’s hair. It took a moment forward his words to sink in, but all she did was smile and shake her head. “I-I don’t know. But it doesn’t matter.”

Hyd blinked and looked down at his hooves, no longer enjoying the sensation of the brush against his mane. He fidgeted some and peeked into a mirror so he could see the look on her face. He couldn't tell if she was angry or what, and even though she was smiling, he felt like she was hiding something. "N-no... it doesn't....?" he said, wanting to reinforce what she said but it came out as more of a question as he shuffled his front hooves together.

Yawn kissed her son’s cheek and then yawned. “…I-I can just bake more cookies… and I think we have a spare jar…” She was distracted for a moment, eyes falling closed and the brush dropping to the ground. It took a moment but she roused herself before she fell too asleep. What were they talking about again? “Y-you have such beautiful hair Hydrangea.” She certainly didn’t seem to notice his nervous behaviour.

Hyd hardly even noticed the complement on his favorite thing next to plants. His mane. His ears twitched and he pressed his hooves together repeatedly, almost biting his upper lip, he clopped his front hooves a few times before taking in a deep breath and just completely blurting out his deepest darkest secret. "I BROKE THE COOKIE JAR IM SO SOORRRYEEEWWAAAAHHHH!!!" he burst, tears streaming from his face like waterfalls. He just couldn't hid it anymore but either way he felt completely miserable right now. He was going to be in so much trouble.

“O-oh…” Yawn blinked, startled by the outburst. She very nearly fell asleep on the spot, but she shook it off. Tangles was much better at dealing with sort of things than she was, but he wasn’t here, so she’s have to take the reins.
The sleepy mother-phony simply kissed her sons head and smiled. “That’s okay. I-I’m sure you didn’t mean it.” She paused a moment, gathering her easily scattered thoughts. “J-just be more careful next time.”

He opened his mouth to say he deserved whatever punishment she threw his way. And then he blinked his eyes open, tears stopping. "W-w-wha....? You mean... I'm...n-not in trouble?! But I broke it...! A-a-and I wasn't going to tell you but i felt so bad buticouldn'tkeepitinanymorebecausethatfeltevenwooorrrrsseeeuuhh." he started sobbing again and cling to his moms leg.

Yawn gave her son her gentlest smile, head dropping forward as she clung to him and resting in his hair. “I-it’s okay Hydrangea. I know you… you didn’t mean it…” She nuzzled him lovingly. “You’re a good boy and you feel bad that it happened…” she murmured the words softly to him, “so it’s okay. I-I can’t tell you off for being honest.” Yawn kissed his cheek. “Feel better?”

Hyd sniffled as he rubbed his face into his mamma's leg. Honest? Was that what he was? And he wasn't in trouble for being honest. This made him feel better indeed. But not just because he wasn't in trouble. It felt good to get it off his chest and confess. And it really was an accident!
He blinked up at his mom. "I really didn't mean too... I was t-t-trying to use my magic...." he sniffled before she kissed his cheek. That made him smile as he took a hoof and wiped away his tears. "Yes Mamma, I do feel better. I will t-t-try to be... honest from the very beginning next time!" he smiled and peered up at her with large watery orange eyes.

Yawn kissed his nose. “W-we all make mistakes sometimes… and that’s okay.” She was proud of him for having told her the truth and never for a second considered being mad at him.
She continued brushing his hair, content to sit there with him and enjoy the moment.
