((Entering from Cafeteria))

Thankfully Lark didn't live far from the cafeteria, and so they reached her room in a matter of minutes. It was a good thing, too, as the smell of Kettil covered in pudding had been giving her the dry-heaves.

"Y'gonna need some clothes," she mumbled to him, throwing her hat on the bed as she beelined for the restroom. There was a quiet splashing of water and another groan as she called out, "Where's yer room at? Compared t'here?" Did that even make sense? Lark didn't know. She couldn't get the smell of pudding out of her nose.

He could see her discomfort and so he didn't really wish to hang around too long at the moment. He'd desummoned Endy for her safety for the time being. All that snow, all those possible random attacks - he didn't really want her to get hurt trying to get to the dorms.

Kettil shifted a bit as he lingered in the doorway of Lark's dorm, "Just down the Hall. So I'll be right back, okay? You...just get yourself cleaned up."

He sounded concerned. As he should be. He turned and went down the hallway soon after he explained. Kettil'd probably be back a short while later.

The instant that Kettil was gone, Lark was undressed and in the shower. The hot water washed away the stench of pudding and other assorted yuck that she'd acquired. It was wonderful and refreshing and she took extra time scrubbing her scalp and making double sure that everything nasty was washed down the drain.

Lark loved long showers. It was where she did her very best thinking.

Right now, all she could think about was the fact that she'd barfed on Kettil.

He'd taken his things to this room before Freya and him left her room earlier in the day thus once entering the room he got out fresh clothing and then went into the shower after taking a few moments to preemptively wash some of his clothes and his shoes. In the shower he just washed down not really concerned about the fact that Lark had pretty much barfed on him. He thought nothing of it at all but he was worried that the impact had hurt her as well. A bit of guilt made his brow knit together as he pressed his forehead against the shower wall for a second.

Okay. This time he'd do better by Lark. He'd protect her better.

Kettil made sure to scrub every part of him down with his usual bar of soap to make sure that he would no longer smell of pudding and he also took time to make sure his hair was clean. Sure it felt refreshing but it also felt like he was taking forever. Once he was done he got dressed and took a fresh pair of shoes as he dashed out the door toward where Lark's dorm room was. He paused outside the door for a long moment before he just entered without knocking.

"Lar? I'm back," he called out curiously, "I don't smell like pudding anymore."

That'd make things better, right?

Kettil was greeted with a bewildered look. Back home it was commonplace for them to barge in on one another in the bathroom or in the bedroom just because they were that comfortable with one another. He'd seen her in bathing suits, he'd seen her in towels, he'd probably even seen her bare a**. Back home, back before the threat of school, it hadn't been a big deal. They were the best of friends forever and always. And then, one little thing had changed.

Feelings. Specifically, hers.

And so when Kettil barged in on Lark standing in her kitchen with a towel that perfectly covered her from chest to mid-thigh? Lark screeched. A hot blush spread across her cheeks and upper chest. She immediately opened the refrigerator door and promptly ducked down.

"Jackdamn it Ket y'can't jest barge in on me like that! Turn 'round! Cover yer eyes!" Why didn't she tell him to leave immediately? Well.. ghouls are fickle things, and maybe part of her wished that he'd -- no. NO. Think of something horrible. Terrible. Monstrous.

Freya's stupid hair.

Okay, that was better.

He'd been smiling up until her screech and the way she tried to hide herself from him. Did she suddenly grow a new limb and was hiding it? This had never been an issue before never. Kettil wasn't aware of her changed feelings and even if he did he still wouldn't get why she was suddenly so shy at him walking in and seeing her in a towel.

"What?! You're covered!" he said simply to her. Then a thought hit him of something that happened to him before he came to the school. A deep blush suddenly covered his face and he suddenly turned away from her now.

Nonono. No thinking about Lark that way.

"Thought you'd be dressed by now, anyways..." He mumbled softly.

Lark peered over the top of the refrigerator door, double-checking on whether or not Kettil had followed her screeched orders. Exhaling loudly, she thudded across the room and dove into the bathroom, heaving her towel at his head before she slammed the door closed. She wasn't sure if it hit him or not.

"I was hungry," she grouched from behind the closed door. "Thought I'd find somethin' t'eat." There was silence for a few moments as she quickly dressed.

"Wasn't 'spectin' y'ta just romp on in like y'owned the place."

He had a towel on his head and he just kept it there for the time being as he listened to her thump about and get dressed. He noted that the towel smelt pretty nice just like Lark always smelt nice (to him anyways) ...He blushed more and suddenly yanked the towel off of his head and cleared his throat a little, "Oh. I see. I wasn't aware it was a formal occasion. Maybe I came in a bit overdressed?" He laughed nervously.

Injecting humor in the situation probably wasn't going to work because now his mind was filled with all sorts of inappropriateness.

At her last words he glanced over where she disappeared, "But we always did that," he almost sounded hurt and his tone was indignant.

Sometimes she felt like a terrible friend. Maybe she was a terrible friend.

Jealousy was a terrible thing, and Lark had it in spades.

"Weel that was diff'rent," shemuttered darkly as she swung open the door of the bathroom, stalking out. She sat on the edge of her bed and rifled around in her bedside table for a pair of socks. Lark knew she was treading on dangerous ground here, and she'd have to be wary lest she lose her footing.

"What if I had someone over, Ket?" Her tone carried the insinuation that she meant 'what if I had a boil over,' but she couldn't bring herself to utter the words. Sure, Roch had been in her room, but it had been pretty darn innocent. Clearing her throat, Lark slipped a sock on.

The insinuation was enough to cause the boil to flinch as he tilted his head away from her. Why did she have to be so cruel to him sometimes? Why did she have to say things like that just to rile him up and hurt him though he wasn't sure why it did. If Kettil took the time to realize certain things he'd probably know exactly why but he was stupid.

He let out a small sniff, "Then I'd hope you'd lock your door," he said his voice turning back to that cold tone. The tone he used when he wanted her to think that he did not care because he totally didn't. Nope.

"Have all the folk over you want. I'll just not come over then," his cold tone was etched in hurt as he stiffly straightened out and started to head for her door.

She was such a b***h to him. He didn't deserve it. He never deserved it. The only way that Lark would even consider a boilfriend would be if Kettil started seeing a ghoul. A ghoul that didn't have a boilfriend already. The day that happened would be the day that Lark's heart shattered into a million pieces.

One could only hope she grew the balls to tell him how she felt before that.

"Ket," Lark rose to her feet, one boot on one foot while the other was completely bare. "Ket, don't. M'sorry. Ket, please?" Why did she say such stupid things? This jealousy that threatened to choke her on a daily basis was slowly turning her more and more sour.

Reaching out one lanky arm, Lark brushed her fingers against his shoulder. She bit back a sigh as she ran her hand down his arm, looping her fingers through his. They'd held hands plenty of times -- this was nothing strange. Lark gave a tug as she moved alongside him.

"M'just ..." <******** in love with you, I can't live without you, I need you forever, " ... hungry." She gave a weak smile. "Makes me cranky, Ket. How 'bout I make some lunch t'make it up t'ya?"
PostPosted: Wed Dec 21, 2011 2:33 pm

As quickly as she'd fired him up he just as quickly diffused when she spoke to him, touched him, and then eventually grasped his hand. His fingertips moved to grasp hers back almost as if he was desperate and clinging to her. He couldn't find it in himself to just continue to be cruel to her. The stern look he wore as he headed for the door just melted into Kettil's small quiet smile as he looked over at her.

His Lar. Always his Lar.

So then why...

He stopped his thoughts not wanting to think about it anymore. It was almost like Kettil was afraid what the thought would bring. Lark was his friend always his friend. His best mate. This was comfortable. Good. It would never change or so he thought but the fact was that it was slowly changing already no matter how he clung to it.

"A...Alright. Let's ... Eat something okay and...I guess head back?" He'd felt shaken somehow though he couldn't say why.

Her eyes flicked towards his mouth when he smiled, the sight of his upturned lips igniting a smile of her own. She found herself staring for a long, long time before she blinked rapidly and cleared her throat. A soft pinkish blush blossomed on her cheeks. It was almost as if she'd zoned out, lost in her thoughts, before zipping back to the present. Lark looked a little horrified for a split second before regrouping.

Tugging Kettil back towards the comfortably-sized kitchen, Lark sat him down in one of the seats.

She quickly moved to the bed, put on her missing sock and shoe, and tromped back into the kitchen before she lost her senses and demanded that he join her there. The thought of cuddling on the bed with his leanly muscled arms wrapped around her... kissing her, playing with her hair -- no. No. This was getting out of hand.

"Right, then," she mumbled under her breath as she moved around the kitchen, preparing them each a BLT -- braincon, lettuce and tomato!

"Where d'ya want to go after we eat?"

Easily he was pulled over and seated and he just kind of watched after her for a long moment before he tilted his head down for the moment toward his lap trying to just forget the entire small spat ever happened. It happened a lot when they were home, certainly, but there was something different about these and he couldn't put his finger on just why.

Her voice caught his attention again as he looked up at her blinking his dark green eyes before he smiled lightly, "Um, well, we could just go checking around to make sure everything is okay? I mean..Is it just me or has things quieted down a lot out there?"

Lark slapped the top piece of bread on each finished sandwich before placing each one on a plate so that she could slice them in half. Once she was finished, Lark brought each plate to the table, set Kettil's in front of him and then took her place across from him.

"Braincon's cold. Made it this mornin'." She picked at her sandwich, lifting it up to take a thoughtful bite. She chewed, cleared her throat and blinked at Kettil.

Then she stared. And stared.

And stared.

"Sorry. What?"
