Atilla stretched out with a deep and satisfied yawn, blinking his eyes as he looked slowly around. "Hmm." Now, just where was he? He'd found a rather lovely, large rock while he'd been moving through the grassy area and he couldn't help himself; he'd climbed onto it and promptly fallen asleep in the end of the day sunlight. But now the sun was just touching the horizon, appearing once more for a new day, and the savannah was going to heat up again. His chocolate eyes shifted around the area, but not many interesting things met his gaze. He sighed a little, wishing he'd gain some company soon. Travelling alone was boring, and unsatisfying. He sometimes missed his birth pride, but he was also really curious of these Kusini lands. He wanted to know if it was true or not, the stories of an uncle that he looked exactly like.

His tail gave a flick as he climbed down from the rock and stretched his limbs once more. "Well." He smirked a little, he supposed it was time to move on. So he did, travelling at a good pace. After about fifteen minutes his stomach gave a herendous grumble and he groaned. Oh, he was hungry! He slowed down, nostrils testing the air. If he was better at hunting this wouldn't have been such a bother... unfortunately the ladies of his pride were the primary hunters, the males only helped out when it was very slim pickings or during special occations. He could see a herd of gazelle in the distance... but why did everything have to move so fast in the savannah? He was tempted to go back to sleep. He shifted his paws and started moving in the direction of the beasts anyhow. He was pretty far off from them... maybe he'd get lucky, maybe not.

She couldn't sleep that night, not a wink, so as the sun started showing the first signs of it's burning, bright, red flames she decided it was time for her to stop trying and get up and try to do something productive. She hadn't been sleeping at all this past month and the reason was very unclear to her. nothing had changed. The environment was very similar to the one she called 'home' some time ago. "How long ago was it...? she wondered as she was getting up on her big, powerful paws. She hadn't had company in quite a while that was for sure and this kind of thoughts always bothered her at night, when her bright blue eyes were always up, looking to the night sky, gazing at the stars.

She yawned and stretched, a cream body shaking off all the leaves and branches stuck in its fur, surrounded by tons of fresh greenery and cool, thick shades. She sat down again, using her paws to groom her face. Well, she had to look good in order someone accidentally bumped into her. Maybe they'd want to stay and talk a little bit. Maybe she could find a friend. Maybe even something more...?

Tiha decided it was time for her to go and hunt something down. It wasn't like she was that hungry for she had eaten the day before and my, oh my, was that gnu tasty. The truth was that she just didn't want to spend another minute doing nothing, being lazy. "Now... where to find fresh food?" she wondered out loud. Lately, she had been talking to herself, though she didn't even notice that. It was a rather good way to keep yourself amused- having conversations with yourself.

She was walking through the thick, dark shades of the trees, headed straight for the big meadow nearby. She had been living in this area for a while now, so, she knew where food gathered the most and always checked those places first... and, she was always right. A beautiful herd of gazelles was having breakfast peacefully and quietly just where she suspected there would be prey. "Perfect..." she said more quietly this time for she was slowly lowering down her body, ears getting up, taking slow and quiet steps out of the woods and into the tall, dry grass of the meadow.

He wasn't particuarly fond of the thought of rushing, so after about five minutes of a trot he slowed his pace and just shifted into a slower, lazy walk. Today he really should make some headway to his uncle's lands... though he still wasn't sure of their exact location. If he could just remember the damn name of the pride! That would have been a big help... Kini'something or other? Kwisni? Bah, he'd figure it out. Food, he should have been focusing on food right then.

When he finally got fairly close to the heard he crouched lower to the ground, stalking instead of leasurely padding into the group of gazelle. Luckily he blended in well with the dried grasses... some of the lions he'd seen in the lands had amazed him with their brightly colored pelts; blues, greens... purples! Bright colors were very rare from where he came from, a pride that was dominated by their coffees, browns, grays and creams. Even whites and blacks were rare, let alone these mystical colors he'd only before seen on birds and other animals. They weren't entirely unheard of, but even those in his pride were only marked minimally when bright colors showed up in litters.

He came to a stop and watched for a bit, some gazelle picked their heads up and seemed a little alert, but the rest of the group was content just eating their grass. His tail flicked and he scanned the group, trying to pick the weakest one out. But suddenly he caught scent of something that clearly wasn't a gazelle; they were close, too. He looked around him, squinting his eyes. Someone else decided to hunt here as well?

He creeped forward a bit, still trying to spot the other lion. And then his chocolate gaze landed on some of the brightest blue eyes he'd ever seen; they were magnificently pretty. Ah! A lioness! He shifted and slowly layed himself down in the grass, deciding to wait. He was fairly positive he could charm his way into convincing her to share whatever she caught with him; if she was sucessful.

She was almost impossible to spot. She was a great huntress, that's for sure. She nearly never missed a prey, that's why she was so well-built and constantly fed. Her creamy coat matched the dried grass perfectly well, and, she was as quiet as a lion could be. She was also extremely fast. She guessed nobody could tell, if they just talked to her. She was quite calm, peaceful, well-mannered and quiet. She had nothing to do with the huntress stereotype. But she was.

She was close enough. Her bright blue eyes spotted a fawn that was straying away from the herd, playing with its older siblings, or so it seemed. That was her goal today- catching a young, delicious gazelle fawn. She didn't feel hungry at all, if she had to be honest, but she had nothing better to do and she had to do something, didn't she? She had to keep her muscles in shape. She had to use all of her energy up... Maybe that's why she wasn't falling asleep- she hadn't been using all of her energy. With that tought she got up and sprinted towards her victim.

It was fast. Really fast. But not as fast as her. She didn't even have to chase it for too long. A minute and it was all over- teeth and claws sinking heavily into the fawn's throat. Its last breath was out loudly and Tiha could finally let go. She was just about to see, if she actually had the appetite to even swallow a bit of its meat when she caught something in the air. Another lion's scent! Another lion had discovered the place she hunted!

She turned her head back to see a brown male staring at her. Was he here to steal away her prey or did he simply plan to hunt for himself and she had chased away all the good, big prey?

He waited quietly and patiently, and when the lioness sprung he rose slowly so he could watch her. Lionesses were magnificent when they hunted, it was truly unfortunate for a lioness not to have great skill in something she was born for. This lioness knew what she was doing it seemed, definitely around his own age. As her jaws sunk into the young animal's throat blood spilled out, and suddenly filled the air with it's delicious, metallic scent. Atilla licked his chops, shifting and standing fully up as almost all of the other gazelles fled; terrified from the scent of blood.

As he took a step forward his gaze suddenly met hers, she was staring directly at him. Ah, this would be the tricky part. Most lions were very territorial over their kill. "Morn'" He called out lightly, offering a big grin to accompany his cheerful greeting. He stayed where he was, not moving forward in the least. "Looks like you an' I 'ad the same idea as teh where teh 'unt, eh?" He sounded amused by this, tail flicking. "Seems yer a bit faster than me though, aren'yeh?" His tail flicked and now he took a few steps forward, bowing his head lightly.

"M'names Atilla... yeh would no mind sharin' yer 'unt with this 'ungry rogue, would yeh?" He didn't seem bashful, asking the female for part of her meal. Sure, the gazelle was hardly a full meal for a grown lion... but he just needed something to fill his stomach for a little while. He wasn't the strongest lion, he was fairly skinny and though muscled he could have been a deal stronger if he was fed on a more scheduled diet. Before he'd left his homelands he could have even been considered a bit chunky, though that was common in such a homey and easy life environment.
