Some ideas on how to make current epic recipes better, and some new epic recipe suggestions:
*Kamila's Vamp Top: For some reason, being called epic and just having one pose that has nothing special to it just scares me. I suggest making it have an avi epic of growing boobs whether it's male or female. For some reason, it feels like it'll appeal to people, especially those who like making fun with avis ie. Male avis with boobs
*I don't really know if the other current Epic items have been crafted, other than Kamila's vamp jacket and Blood Bat(Blood bat seems fine though). My suggestion would be to add an animation to them when we walk, or to add at least one more pose.
Here are some Epic Item suggestions though:
*I AM Null Crystal: The recipe has only one pose and turns you into a floating active null crystal, of course smaller to see the difference. When you move, sparkly circles rotate around just like that of the real Null Crystals. When you sit you would like you're embedded to the ground, and look just like a Null Crystal the way we know it.
*Well, the only other ideas I have are I AM items for existing mobs that are separate from existing plushies we have.
What do you guys think though?

If they were serious about epics in DMS, we should've seen something like this. In fact, I'd fully support their adding that item, so long as they ensure that it actually lives up to the connotation that halos have on Gaia - it needs to be ridiculously difficult to craft. True epic recipes should serve as longterm goals no matter how efficient you are at farming for them. The fact that our current round of epics has already been crafted seems to have failed that goal.
EDIT: I'm not sure I'm being sufficiently clear when I say "ridiculous". I would not be at all opposed to utilising other Epic Recipe items as components for this. I would not be opoosed to utilising multiples of several Epic Recipe items as components. As in, dozens of them. I want the process to obtain some items (for which halos are a particularly good candidate) to be completely ludicrous.
I encompass a lot in the word "epic". sweatdrop

In Quint's old thread on this subject, he brought up some useful points about using up backlogged loot in Epics - he uses the example of Buzzsaw loot, of which there is currently a vast overabundance of. Something worth considering, at least, for future suggestions...

>30 marshall companions
You better re-release them somewhere not-too-easy not-too-hard.
edit: Speaking of TRUE EPICNESS, I'm still saddened to not see a recipe that requires 150 of each mini-event loot, 200 of loot acquired only by beating bosses on Extreme, 75 Sinister Scarves, 200 of every common loot in the game, 10 of each holiday event loot, 5 of a group of loot you get only one of each day with a Cash shop daily quest, with one of these for each area, 10 of a untradeable loot you can only be awarded by attending dev meats, 100 balls of fluff, 10000 gramster goo, 10000 lucki amigo pants and summer tops, 1000 Orb aggregates, 100 Shadow Orb aggregates and 1 Marauder's Legacy.
It'd be done in a month.
Also, I'd rather worry with flushing out that whole old loot thing, adding newer loot as a limiter, than going about worrying about making Epics too hard. Mostly because that would spread out the "potential reward" throughout more of the game. We'll just work together as a community to craft the first of, no matter how hard it is, even if it is virtually too hard for a single person, and the charm will be gone. We proved this with Alchemy.

Guess we should talk to [ JK ] about this. Maybe they do have a plan for Epics that'll make them better. The current ones just really don't feel worth crafting, well except for the Blood Bat.

Well then, on the subject of using up old excess loot, what do you think of this?
On an unrelated note, you can obviously tell I've started using GIMP in the past few days... razz
EDIT: By the by, the colours on that were just placeholders; I started off trying to use something rust-coloured, but I never went back and revised the colouring... sweatdrop

It would definitely have to be in back alley bargains or be a drop in the game in order for it to work as a zOMG! iam object. There are already items to make yourself look like Marshall with regular zOMG! recipes. I would love an iam landshark though and iam items would be nice once gaia fixes the green background glitch. emotion_omnomnom

I personally loved the idea brought up by you guys in the other thread of having recipes to craft Min-monsters for Booty Grab!
It appeals to me because Booty Grab is the best way to earn gold in Gaia besides zOMG! so the only way to make this even better is to link the two. The two best parts about this proposal are:-
1) Mini-monsters are perishable in nature and as such, demand will always exist for these items and thus the continuous incentive to keep crafting them.
2) The mini monsters already exist. There's absolutely no effort involved to think up new items or desing them. All they need to do is create those little scrolls and have them dropped by animated in the game.
The only limitation I can think up of is the fact that I'm pretty ignorant about BG and how well things sell. Are mini-monsters really that popular amongst BG Aquarium owners. Seems to me as though people prefer dolphins, Enki and mermaids to Mini-monsters although I have seen quite a few aquariums loaded with mini-monsters too. Hopefully someone else can enlighten me on the subject. sweatdrop

The biggest issue is that the Mini Monsters are already available for gold, in the shops - the prospect of offering them as craftables won't necessarily be appealing to Booty Grab players, as the gold costs for them are already pretty manageable. More than anything, it would be a way to encourage zOMG! players who already have excess loot around to invest it into Booty Grab - something of an integration method. Still, I suppose the idea that you can refill your tank just as a byproduct of farming for gold in zOMG! would be rather convenient. 3nodding
But that's the essential differnce between the monsters and the other Aquariums critters; the monsters are available on the cheap, while the other critters require a significantly higher investment...

Red Kutai I remember the idea, though I don't remember anymore where it came from. It's hard to keep track of idea threads, anymore. sweatdrop
It was from Quint's thread about what should be the next step in zOMG! I was actually hoping to have the mini monsters stripped from the shops and have them as recipe only items. This would only apply to monsters in instances though as outworld monsters would still be available in the shops. I'm not so sure about the outrage though it might cause if any.

They were placed in shops initially as a gold-alternative to Cash 'fish'. There would need to be some decent number of fish available for gold, though I certainly don't think those really need to be the Mini-Monsters. If the Aquariums team is comfortable with making some other 'fish' available for gold, I could fully support the Mini-Monsters being Recipe-exclusive... 3nodding

This is the full list of monsters you can:
Cow Deathroach Clutch Skeeter Anchor Duneslam Crow Gruncken Flamingo Rooster Fluff Gramster Garlic Tiny Terror witch doctor Grunny Sub (cash)
That's actually a very small list. There are no bosses other than the Duneslam which works as bad as most other monsters because they probably added it in the place intended for regular sandcastle golems. Out of the entire list there's only one monster that is worthwhile, and that's the grunny sub and it's not even gold. The rest, excepting the Witch doctor, has the problem of not often glowing together with other monsters. So you get pretty shitty glow games with them and they hardly pay for themselves in the two or three weeks of life they got.
Monsters that are worthwhile are stuff like Shockroaches + both walker types, All types of "sharks", Boss figures. Purses, Outlaw Pups or Alpha Grams are usually seen on the bottom of the aquariums giving extra green coins as filler in between blue waves from higher up, and those were all from the third strike pack of which none other than the sub is there. Even people who'd likely aim for a Landshark is probably forgetting about it and buying this third pack instead because the filler from the last one is also much better and isn't gold shop available, that's why aquariums have mostly Stone Coatls.
So yeah thing is, the monsters on the shop are intentionally bad monsters. They're cheap filler for people who can't afford better filler, because there IS better filler available. If we make recipes out of that better filler, or for the better monsters avaiable in the first pack that didn't release in the gold shop, then people would indeed seek to craft them. Thing is gaia will likely see the open ended road to exploitation to this, and won't allow it to be entirely free. They'll likely do something like require a few null frags to build those with the recipes. Still cheaper than getting a pack, but.
