What did everyone do for Valentine's Day this year? Did anyone have a special someone to spend it with? Did anyone get anything like flowers or chocolate? That sort of thing. Aaaaaand.. discuss. 3nodding

All I got was a piece of sympathy candy from a girl a year younger than me. She over heard me telling Veronica about how depressing this holiday is, and she said, "aw, i'm sorry. here's some candy."

I even got a sympathy gift from my parents. Not a nice caring gift, a SYMPATHY gift. The card that came with it even said "Try not to be too depressed today". stare Of course considering the s**t with my mom lately, the present was probably dad's idea.

And oh, lucky me, at play practice I was talking to Alex and somehow we got onto the topic of gay people, which means, 'Cue everyone else, enter conversation.' And they started the verbal bashing. I, being yet in the closet, just stood there, amazed at what i was hearing. And the lead girl went on about stuff like, "Man, I just don't understand how they can think it's normal to be attracted to the same sex." And the rest of the group nods. It bugged me so much. neutral I just wanted to scream at them. Scream at myself for being so ..weird.

Plus, all day my brain was making it's usual route, saying things to me like "You moron. You never could get a boyfriend. You'll never have a girlfriend either. Give up." and "You're such a weirdo. If your friends knew you were attracted to girls they would freak. As if you weren't unpopular enough already." It's like an intercom in my head that I can never turn off. It's every day, but V-day just gives that little voice in my head a megaphone.

Sorry for ranting. you're all probably sick of hearing about my problems now. ninja I'm even sick of hearing about it myself. I think the ranting online is to make up for all the writing i'd usually be doing in my journal, if I could. (I burned all my journals because of what happened earlier this year.)

Im sorry to hear you guys had a horrible day..

Mine started out horrible. The day was just annoying. I was kinda excited for the afternoon cause Arie (my ex g/f.. *sigh*) was going to call me. Which confused me cause she's the one who planned to "conviently" call on Vday. Well, I talked to her for just a bit (like a min) and then I had to go because my parents wanted to go out. So after that, Arie called my phone again and left a voicemail. She sang The Pretenders "I'll Stand By You". So I cried. My stepdad got me a porcilien (sp?) cat. Then I had dinner. When I got home I called Arie back and we talked for a little while in which somewhere in that little time she said that "We're weird".. that kinda turned odd in a way for me. Then she let me go and I cried more.

Sorry to be the cynical one in here, but I don't believe in Valentine's Day. sweatdrop Hehe. My girlfriend doesn't either so it worked out for both us... we actually forgot. ^^;

But I got a Hello Kitty card and a hug from my friend (she's not one to give out voluntary hugs. ^^; ) But both things were very nice. =)

hahaha my best friend got me a candy bra!!! it rocks! i haven't worn it yet or anything though...

I'm the same way. Not only is it depressing to single people who can't get someone, but all of the 'thoughtful' actions done between couples only occures because it is expected on that specific day, even during that season.

Once I get a girlfriend, she'll allready know that she will get no VDay gifts. Ever. Instead, randomly timed gifts. Much more unanticipated, thus more enjoyable, and less empty.

lol I used to buy my girl alot on gaia. I still do kinda (except we're friends). Right now Im saving some gold for her. mrgreen
