Anyone else find it annoying that you have to collect all those jewels and then complete a bunch of those mini-quests?

As much as I really do enjoy the mini quests, after I complete a bunch in a row and still haven't had my special assignment (to help improve the guild), I get frustrated. Finding all the jewels has been slow progress, too. I know one is in your home in Solitude and another is in the Thalmor Embassy. It's so much work just to become the guild master. cat_neutral

I would rather keep the skeleton key than becoming the guild master rofl

I dunno, I think its worth completeing those missions, I pick up just about everything so when I need to find a shop, those fences with 4000 gold are really useful!

As for the jewels for the crown, my brother completed it but found that you are flooded with flawless jewels all the time.

You don't actually need the Stones of Barenziah to become Guild Master, if that's what you're talking about.

If you're having trouble figuring out why you haven't gotten any city influence quests from Delvin:

Once you have completed 5 quests (Burglary, shill, heist, sweep, numbers, fishing, Bedlam) from Vex or Delvin for any one SPECIFIC city,
-Windhelm
-Markarth
-Whiterun
-Solitude

Delvin will tell you he has a special job for you.
Once you have completed a city influence quest for each city, you'll become the guild master..
Which is not without its perks. You get a tribute chest filled with gold and gems, that is periodically restocked. You also get the Guild Master Armor, which is better by far than the regular thieves guild armor.

Hope that helped.
I love my thieves guild. I've played through that questline more times than I can count. smile

Quick question, if this was brought up already I'm too busy to find
out where, The stones of Barenziah are for the crown right?
So when you collect them all do you get a fancy crown?

Yep, the stones are from the crown of Barenziah. Vex will send you on a quest to find the crown itself after you find all the stones. smile

Yes, you do "get" the crown but it does not go into your inventory it goes behind the master desk with all the little trinkets but you do get a special perk prowlers profit, it ups your chance find of gems. It evens out in the end since you do not get "paid" for the side quest but you will have gems falling out of your ears, going through one dungeon i can easily come out with 15 or so flawless of any gem type. **flawless diamonds are still rare till you get leveled to find them, which is around 40 or so.**
