Eric is walking toward the library, a contented smile on his face. It was a good day to be alive, and he wanted a book to celebrate with. He had not, however, anticipate the weather changing so suddenly. He could hear thunder going off over head, and the wind was whipping up around him and chilling him to the bone.
"Oh I wish I had a car..."
This wasn’t going to be a warm rain. This wasn't going to be a romantic, kiss your lover for the first time rain. This was going to be a cold, chill you to the bone type rain and he wasn’t looking forward to it.

Jett had been on his way towards the library, though was seemingly much more prepared for the weather in that he had a car—and was utilizing it. He had gone through his closet and sorted out what clothes he could bear to part with and was, therefore, finally on his way to drop them off at the donation box at the library.
He had a rather large collection, though such was to be expected given that he hadn’t cleaned out his closet since sometime before middle school. The back seat was full of boxes of just clothes—and he still had more at the house.
Jett was slouched in the seat of his car, boredly waiting for a red light to switch, when he noticed something in his peripheral vision that made him turn his eyes from the road to sidewalk. It took him only a moment to realize that it was Eric he was staring at, and the male seemed to have no inclination that it was Jett in the car—and Jett didn’t blame him. He had the windows of his black ’95 Corvette rolled up, and he hadn’t exactly told Eric what model he drove. Casting one last look at the light to make sure it was still red, he pressed the button to lower the window on the passenger’s side and then leaned across as best he could with his seatbelt still on.
“Hey,” he called, quite intent on getting Eric’s attention. “Eric, come here. You headed in this direction?” he gestured to the road in front of him and figured he wouldn’t waste any time since he didn’t know how long the light was going to stay for. “I’ll give you a lift,” he offered.

Eric turned and looked at the man speaking to him.
"Jett! Hey there! I haven't seen you in a while how have you been?"
He smiled, walking up to edge of the car.
"I was on my way that way actually, I was going to go by the library and get myself a book for this inside weather, but I didn't expect this."
He pointed to the sky, chuckling at his own misfortune.
"So where are you going? I hate to put you out driving me around and whatnot. So unless you're going that way I'll just take a cut through that alleyway or something, I’ve walked in the rain before."

Jett’s nose wrinkled and he shook his head. “There are enough wet dogs in the city, get in. I’m heading to the library, too,” he said, moving a bit away from the window so he could make room for Eric. For a while he thought the male had become prey to some mugging—or maybe someone had figured he made for a good energy tap, so he was more than a little thrilled to see his favorite little information pal alive and kicking.
“Hurry up, though, the light’s going to change and I want to get these boxes into the library before it starts to rain. You might not mind getting wet, but I’d rather avoid it if I can. Heading to work after this,” he explained, though there was still a good hour and a half before his shift started.

Eric nodded.
"All right, I'll get right in."
He walked around to the other side of the car and opened the door. He was pretty happy to have run into Jett, it seemed like forever since he last saw him.
"I have a lot to tell you about, I ran into another one of those power people in a park. A guy calls himself Remarque, he has some sort of power and he’s fighting the senshi, I think. He's got a really weird outfit, he might be... you know... but he seemed like a good resource."

Jett froze at the name and the look of surprise was evident on his face for the whole two seconds it took for him to remember that he had run into Eric a while ago as Remarque. He'd visited the park on Thursdays as per their plan, but hadn't seen Eric in a while and just assumed he'd been busy or had a better places to be.
"Oh," he said rather dully. He was relieved when the light turned green only a second later since it gave him a bit of a distraction. "...Well, that's good. You...running into many other of those people or just that one?" he asked, trying to subtly change the subject. He'd been a bit surprised by the statement and felt a tad bit foolish--he should have expected it and been able to received the information in a much more tactful manner.

He scratched his chin.
"Only run into a few thus far, a senshi named Alberio and another one named... uh..."
He pulled out his notepad and looked up the name.
"Ah right, Lenka. She was just a wee lass, which I thought was strange. Do they really recruit girls so young as that? I mean, she was just the smallest thing, and I felt bad trying to get information from her."
Eric felt bad just talking about it.
"Oh, and I got close to getting Candice!... To join the sky watch, I mean. She might be about to join sky watch. So... there’s that too."

Those were three names that Jett recognized, though all of which brought a different emotion. “I met Albireo in the Surrounding,” he mused. “She didn’t seem too bad.”
And had made for an interesting evening when he was under the guise of Remarque, but, that wasn’t information he was going to divulge with Eric. He wasn’t sure if he liked the senshi of swans or not, but he knew that he didn’t like Lenka. Psychotic, belligerent little brat.
“Candice, though?” he prompted, instead of focusing on the scouts. “…Pretty blonde girl, was in the Surrounding, wants to be a doctor?”

Eric nodded, looking off into the distance for a moment.
"Yeah... I mean, yeah, that’s her. She's great. I ran into her on the bus and we hung out, talked about the time we spent in the surrounding and... you know... dishing."
He smiled.
"And then we got together for some dinner, it was nice. Its been a lot of fun, shes really cool."
He realized this conversation was getting into weird territory, since he knew what Jett would probably want to know next.
"So how’s Raven these days? You gotten her anything for Christmas yet?"

Jett scoffed slightly.
Oh, Raven.
"Yeah. A dog," he answered with a slight shrug. "Ugly little rat of dog, but, she liked it. Pays it more attention than she does me," he added with slight humor.
Though, a smirk had twitched onto his lips with the whole Candice topic--and it remained there. "So, you took Candice out to dinner? You dog, you. Do you have a thing for her, or...?"
He was teasing--and seemed playful about it--but was by no means menacing. The thought amused him, that life could go on so easily. He'd known both in the Surrounding, although they weren't his usual crowd. Oh, well. Nothing like a near death situation (or, actually, a post death situation?) to bring two people closer together.

Eric furrowed his eyebrows; that wasn’t something he was used to hearing.
"Things between you and Raven not going too well?"
It was a little weird to hear someone talk that way, he’d always assumed Jett was crazy about Raven... though thinking about it he wasn't sure why. He had heard people say they were together, and hed thought about the fact that they were together before, but hed never actually talked to Jett about it.
"But yeah, well, it was just dinner. She wanted my tie."
It took him a second to realize that didn't make any sense.
"It’s a long story."

Jett cast Eric a glance as he turned the corner of the car; his eyes returned to the road rather quickly since there was a fair amount of traffic and he really didn’t want to scrape up his car. “Wanted your tie? …That might be a story I have to bug you about one of these days.”
Candice was a bit of an odd girl, but her heart was in the right place and she was rather likeable. Though, he’d have preferred if she didn’t study so hard so she wasn’t practically sleep walking home.
He returned to Raven, not wanting to make Eric uncomfortable by prodding too much into it. “Raven and I are fine. But—you know how girls are. We had a bit of a rough patch, I guess. Apparently we were dating. And I was the last to know.”

Eric was obviously surprised, that wasn’t something you heard often.
"You were.... the last one to know? Now that’s a story I'll have to bug you for one of these days."
Eric didn't want to press too hard though, he felt like he might accidently broach a topic that might upset Jett.
Thinking it over, Eric didn't really know too much about Jett. The few times they had spoken he'd never really talked about anything other than the surrounding and senshi. He had only known about Raven because of things other people had said.
"So uh... what do you do?"
Oh, and he was a boxer. He knew that.

"What do I do?" Jett let out a very slight laugh. "I pick up semi-homeless guys I find on the side of the road and give them a lift to the library so they can escape the rain."
He hit another red light, which was very disappointing since the sky looked like it was going to tear open any minute now--and they were so close to the library. A block and a half more and they'd be at the library.
He answered, a bit more seriously, "I do a lot, I don't know. I go to school at HITS now that DCU kicked me out from the whole Surrounding incident, aiming to get a business degree. I work part time at an antique store, live with my mother. Donate to the homeless," he said, offhandedly gesturing towards the boxes of clothes in the back seat with one hand as he drummed the fingers of his other hand on the steering wheel while waiting for the light to change.

Eric nodded knowingly.
"Oh aye, doing those charity drives. You know I was thinking of doing some of those drives myself, I could play on the corner for donations and that sort of stuff."
He shrugged.
"I have to give to the less fortunate, after all. You know... fully homeless people"
To be less fortunate then Eric you had to be REALLY unfortunate. Cause Eric didn’t have a job, or his own place, or any possession larger than a guitar. He didn’t even have three pairs of clothes.
"How did you get involved in donating to the homeless?"
