The small agent stepped into the lift and pressed the button for the fifth floor. He had been briefed on this of course; one did not go to the executives' floor without important business. Well, he had important business, ergo there was no problem with him going.

When the lift went 'ding' and the doors opened he found himself face to face with a tall dark-haired executive. The executive gave Frost a Look, which totally went over his head in more ways than one. Agents did not come here without important business, therefore the man must know he had important business, therefore his presence here could not be objected to; he even had a clipboard with him complete with pad of paper. Giving a polite nod Frost stepped neatly around his superior and set off down the corridor.

He got more strange looks that he failed to notice as he walked briskly along, counting room numbers. Much of most executive agents profiles were censored to his rank on the database, but room numbers were available to anyone above trainee rank.

Ah, and here he was.

There was a guard outside.

The guard looked at him.

Frost looked back.

The guard opened his mouth.

Frost knocked on the door.

He had important business and a clipboard, it did not occur to him that other people might not be aware of the former and have little respect for the latter.

The guard tensed when Frost ignored his glare and knocked on the door behind him. "Hey!" His voice was deep and gruff, "Get out of here!"

The door opened and Lore's head peered over the guard's shoulder, "Frost! Hey man, what's up?"

...Pardon? Frost looked up at the guard with blank eyes and pursed lips. "Manners cost nothing," he said coolly, "and pardon me but I am here on important business. I am here to see executive Loreven," Frost waved the clipboard and nodded at the man who had just appeared to greet him, "Kindly let me pass, I am sure you will appreciate that I am on a schedule." Honestly! Some people simply had no appreciation for decent behaviour, nor apparently the ability to use their brains and realise that he was here for a reason. 'Get out of here'. Honestly.

Eyes narrowed, the guard threw a meaty arm across the doorway. "Nobody in." He glanced at Lore over his shoulder, "Or out."

Lore chuckled, "You'll have to excuse Frank, he's not so good with manners. Are you, Frank?"

"I've told you twice, my name isn't Frank."

"Well you haven't told me what your name is and you look like a Frank. C'mon, Frost, back me up. That's totally a Frank face."

"Enough!" Not-Frank shouted and jabbed a finger at Frost, "You. Leave." Then he looked back at Lore, "You. Close that door."

Lore rolled his eyes, "No need to yell, Frank. We're all right here." He sighed and looked back at Frost, "Sorry man. Guess we'll have to meet up some other time. Oh, and you should totally check out the Caf today. I heard they've got churros." He offered Frost a pointed wink. "Maybe pick up a couple for Frank'n me."

Frost's lips pursed even tighter as the finger was jabbed at him, threatening to create some kind of disapproval singularity. "Mr Not-Frank, as Loreven says there is no call to shout. Mmfh. Very well though. Despite your lack of courtesy I shall withdraw...."

Lorevern had just winked at him.

Winks were either conspiratorial or flirtatious.

He had no idea what kind of wink that had been but clearly there was more to be said either way. In the former case perhaps he would get to discuss what he had come here to discuss and in the latter case he might get to do so once he had expressed the sentiment of 'you have very fine eyes, but I am spoken for'.

"Perhaps I shall go to the cafe," he said blandly with another disapproving look for the guard. "Seen as I am now ahead of schedule I might as well spend the time before my shift somewhere comfortable. Good day Executive, good day Not-Frank." Oh yes, even he was capable of jokes once he cottoned onto one.

Turning on his heel Frost walked quickly back down the corridor and summoned a lift. Winks. They really were very useful things.

"You like churros, don't you Frank?"

The angry guard grunted and reached over to shut Lore's door for him as Frost departed.

Lore's voice came muffled from the other side, "Everybody likes churros."

When Frost arrived downstairs at the cafeteria he'd find no churros. Which was a shame. The cafeteria was mostly empty this time of day. A couple Rockets were seated inside, grabbing late lunches. The day's meal was some sort of questionable meatloaf.

About ten minutes passed uneventfully. Then, rather suddenly, Lore appeared in the doorway.

He was covered in dust and flanked by his trusty whimsicotts, smirking goodnaturedly.

Frost was sitting opposite the door. He had a small white bone china teapot with matching milk jug and two cups and saucers, plus sugar bowl with sugar lumps in it. Given the generally rough and practical nature of the cafeteria crockery, it was safe to presume that it was his own personal tea set.

As the executive entered Frost raised his eyebrows in unison with raising his cup to his lips. Lowering the cup but not the eyebrows he nodded to the dishevelled Rocket before him. "Executive Lorevern. Take a seat. Pour yourself some tea. Try not to get any dust on me. Dare I ask how you escaped the tireless vigil of Not-Frank Dirty Pointy Sausage Fingers?" He had planned all of that out in advance other than the dust part, and was really quite pleased with how it had come off.

Frost's greeting earned a jovial laugh from Lore. He dusted off his shoulders and hair before taking a seat, "Sausage fingers. I'm hanging onto that one." He eyed the delicate tea set with a smirk, "There are more solutions to problems than Frank'll ever realize. He doesn't think outside the box. Doors're just one way in and out of a room."

"That much is clearly apparent," Frost responded mildly. Pausing to take another sip of tea he pondered how to attack the issue in front of him. In the end he decided that bluntness - though tempered with manners thank you so much! - was the best way to go. "I appreciate you making the effort to escape and speak to me. I imagine you wish to know why I came up to find you in the first place?"

Lore turned his smirk on Frost, "Don't tell me you weren't just looking for my good company."

Frost's eyebrows raised further. It was mildly shocking that this was possible. "Sir, I am the first to admit that social cues are not my forte. Therefore I would like to clarify where and now whether or not you are attempting to flirt with me? If so please desist, I am already spoken for." He was. It was still peculiar for that to be the case, peculiar but pleasant... more than pleasant.

Lore arched an eyebrow at the question, then chuckled. "Frost, I think you may be the most entertaining Rocket I've met here." He picked up his tea cup to take a sip, "You'll be happy to know my appetites don't swing that way."

"I will?" One of Frost's eyebrows descended. Just one. The other remained raised, thus conveying its owner's scepticism. "Well. As you say sir I am sure I shall be. In any case. The reason I came to see you. Curiosity I must confess, although I feel it must be something rather... rather important? I am not accustomed to seeing Executives down in our cafeteria. I am most certainly not accustomed to seeing them marched off by two more executives and the boss himself.... You understand my interest, I presume?"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 18, 2011 1:13 pm

"Aahh.. that." Lore nodded, "It was just a little misunderstanding, really. He had some things he needed to tell me. No big deal."

"Really." Frost sipped at his tea and regarded Lore over the rim of his cup with blank pale blue eyes. "He came down personally for... just a little misunderstanding. Tell me, is it because of this little misunderstanding that you now have your room guarded by Not-Frank?" Just as he had when the pair of executives had initially come to take him away he was either lying, twisting the truth, or glossing over it. Frost did not intend to be so easily thrown off this time around.
