It had taken a little longer than usual for Riyo to make it back to her dorms, considering the weather and the fact that she was soaked to the bone, but there she was in front of her door, shaking up a storm. Oh, and she had a couple of stragglers. "K-k-k-keep the coat, Xiu..." The feline squeaked as she reached into her pants pocket and grabbed her keys... Which were jingling in her hands.
Click, clack, and another click later, they were in. Immediately the ghoul was rushing to unbutton the first freezing cold shirt. "D-d-don't you scuff my floor." She mumbled to her 'guests', rushing over to turn the stove on so it would get warmer in the dwelling.
Almost immediately they were greeted by curious, meowing cats who appeared happy to see them. At least somebody was.

Mot let out a heavy sigh once they were inside. It was much warmer in the dorm, but it was taking a while for his core to heat back up.
The cowboil shivered, rubbing his forearms rapidly as he entered the room. He remembered from his first visit to Riyo's place to take off his boots right away. Luckily he had not gotten snow in them. Wet socks would not be fun to deal with.
Mot spared a glance at the cats, giving them a cautious nod before looking back toward where Riyo went. "Th-This will come off as really awkward, b-but I couldn't help but notice we're of a similar size." He stuttered as his teeth chattered.
"I don't have any warm clothes at my dorm. Um.. could I maybe.. borrow some?" He asked, sounding rather ashamed. He was more upset that he could fit into ghoul's clothes more so than the fact he was asking to wear them.
But, Riyo tended to dress in a masculine fashion anyway.

Warmth! Precious, precious warmth! The baku followed her friends, deciding that she should drop off Riyo's coat first before she rushed to her own room and bundled herself up in something warm. Or at least, that had been the plan: unfortunately, the idea was temporarily shoved to the side when they were greeted by the cats. Eyes wide, Xiu dropped down into a crouch, tail wagging as she reached her hand out to the minis. "Hi, kitty!" Cold? What cold? All of the baku's focus had now fallen on the minis.
At least, until Mot mentioned borrowing clothing. Xiu looked up at that, head cocked to the side. Well, she obviously couldn't lend him any clothing--all she had were dresses and skirts, and considering that Mot was taller than her--
--Could have done without that image. "I have lots of thick scarves, if you wanted to borrow one?" She chirped, standing upright and glancing out into the hallway. "I should run back and get changed anyways. Did you want me to grab one for you?" She glanced between Riyo and Mot as she spoke. She wasn't sure if Riyo had her own scarves, but she would extend the offer just in case! After all, the bakeneko had lent her her jacket.

Riyo immediately stopped buttoning momentarily when Mot admitted he was comparing their body sizes. Her eyes said he was treading on dangerous territory. That was, until he admitted his ulterior motives.
The feline's expression grew flat as she stared at the cowboil. While Mot may have felt bad about being able to fit in a ghoul's clothes, Riyo felt a twinge of shame to the fact that she and Mot... Practically had the same body. "Sure, Mot. You want to wear my underwear while you're at it?" The ghoul hissed, finally managing to get her first layer off. This was the only place where layers weren't a good thing.
"I've got a scarf." Still, she moved over to the closet and flung the door open. Silently she gathered up fresh clothes, subconsciously making sure everything matched. It was obvious just by glancing at the inside of the tiny room that the demoness owned not an article of 'ghouly' clothing. "Here." Without a second thought, she shoved the fancy clothes into the reaper's hands. "You break them, y-you buy them."
All of the cats seemed fascinated by Xiu's immediate show of affection. Meows here, mews there, and a couple of purrs, they surrounded her and affectionated on her, sharing a little bit of warmth with the ghoul.

"Really, Xiu?" Mot answered hopefully. His neck had been the most cold outside, wearing such an open chested top with only his now wet poncho to warm him. "I'd like that." Geez. At this rate he'd smell of ghouls with all of the things he'd be borrowing.
Riyo received a flat look from Mot on the underwear comment. He'd much rather go commando than wear a ghoul's underwear. Luckily, his boxers were dry. Thank Jack for that.
The reaper took the clothes that were rather forcefully shoved at him, looking them over thoughtfully. "Understood... thank you." He replied, padding his way to the bathroom to change. Ghoul's clothes or not, he'd finally be warm, dry and layered.

"I'll bring a scarf back for Mot, then! I'll be right back!" Before she left, however, the baku couldn't resist crouching down again to pat all the cats, one by one. She may have even picked one up to cuddle it before--reluctantly--tearing herself away, if only for a few minutes. Once she had changed and returned with the promised scarf, though, it would be right back to playing with the cats until they had to leave.
With this form of motivation in mind, Xiu darted off, heading into her room and immediately digging through her closet for scarves, jackets, leggings, and whatever else she thought that she would need. She tossed everything on, gave her minis a quick cuddle, and rushed back to Riyo's room. All this took her less than five minutes.
"Back!" Donning a long jacket over a dress, leggings, a thick scarf, and earmuffs, the baku looked far warmer than she had been previously. The jacket Riyo lent her was draped over one arm, while the scarf for Mot was draped over the other. With both arms occupied, Xiu could only cast an anxious and impatient glance down at the cats, and then a wide, pleading glance at Riyo.
Take them, please, so that she could play with the kitties?

Riyo couldn't really say with 100% confidence that what she did was the right thing, but she supposed that thought didn't matter too much right now. While Mot was in the bathroom and Xiu had disappeared to her dorm, the feline continued working on getting her top unbuttoned. Having numb fingers didn't help this process too much. Jack, they were gonna be sick after this, weren't they?
The feline had been about to jump in her closet so she too could change, until Xiu charged back in with with a scarf and her coat. For a moment, Riyo didn't process what the baku wanted from her, until she noticed the cats mewing at the ghoul's legs, waiting for more attention. It earned an eyeroll from the demoness as she temporarily walked away and came back with a stick that had a piece of string tied to the end. Without an explanation, the ghoul traded it for her coat. "Have at it." And then she disappeared into the closet with a slam of the door.

When Mot came back out, having taken a while to figure out how to wear the multi buttoned and fastened jacket and shirts, Mot returned from the bathroom to find Xiu alone with a stick and cats.
Mot sniffled again, the cold still having chilled him to the bone despite his new layers. "Oh, for me?" he asked pointing toward the scarf she held. Yay warmth! "I don't like to admit it but I'm not looking forward to going back out."

What? What is this stic--OOOOOH. The baku beamed happily at the simple contraption that she held in her hand, wriggling the string over the heads of the cats and watching them bat at it with amusement. She wasn't surprised to know that Riyo had cats (she had seemed quite taken with Arashi as well), but Xiu was surprised to find out just how many cats she had.
She momentarily tore her gaze away from the felines when Mot emerged fromt he bathroom. "Yup! The scarf is yours!" At his admission, Xiu had to grin, "We're a lot more prepared now, though! So it won't be as cold, but..."
Trailing off, she looked at the cowboil thoughtfully. He seemed like he was still cold despite his new, warm layers. As a precaution, she removed her earmuffs, walked over to him, and placed them over his head. "There!" Now back to playing with the cats, yaaay!

A short time after Mot exited the bathroom, Riyo also journeyed out of her hiding spot, looking as regal as ever. Though, instead of a hat, the ghoul adorned earmuffs. Frostbite on the ears was probably more painful than she cold imagine, and considering she had died before... That was pretty painful.
"Mm. Not bad." The feline mumbled as she looked the cowboil over. She supposed he did fit in her clothes well. Though, before she could say anything else, the ghoul covered her face to sneeze. Oh Jack, if she got sick again...
"The stove is on if you need to warm up before we go out." That was why she turned it on in the first place, after all. "And neither am I, but do you want to be stuck in perpetual snowfall?" The sooner they fixed the problem, the faster they'd be able to go about their business. At least this had taken her mind off the school play.
Speaking of play... She was a little surprised the cats had taken to another person so quickly. It was kinda nice seeing them enjoying themselves so much. "You can quit if you get tired, Xiu. They're just as happy taking a nap somewhere." Fiddling with her hair for a moment, the ghoul tied it back with a red ribbon that seemed to bring the outfit together. "Do you guys think... Sandy Claws has something to do with all this?"

Ear muffs.  Welp. Mot was now wearing 50% ghouls clothes. Still, they were appreciated, and Mot gave Xiu and thankful smile and short chuckle. He took the scarf, wrapping tightly around his neck. "Thank you, Xiu."Riyo's assessment made the cowboil grin cheekily. Still, nod bad still meant he looked good.. in a female's clothes, as masculine as her fashion sense was. The reaper did agree they needed t get to the bottom of the situation, but rushed to the stove right away to warm up. "Sandy Claws..." Mot murmured, shivering. "You think so? I don't know much about him beyond the legends.."

"You're welcome!" Xiu chirped happily, taking in Mot's appearance with a little grin. Her earmuffs...kind of suited him? With an amused little shake of her head, she went back to playing with the cats. Xiu seemed very much focused on making sure that every cat had a turn at batting the string, dangling them right over their heads and wriggling the stick.
At Riyo, she gave a little smile and a shake of her head. "It's okay--I like playing with them! I'd like to do so as much as possible before we have to leave, so..." She continued to stand where she was instead of moving to the stove, but she could still, at least, hear her friends talking.
"Sandy Claws?" The baku had to look up at that, eyes wide as she regarded both Riyo and Mot, "I...I don't know much about him aside from the stories either. Though with all this snow..." It wasn't impossible, right?

Well, it was certainly a nice sentiment, and all of Riyo's cats appreciated it. Secretly, so did Riyo. "Alrighty then." That didn't mean the feline would thank Xiu for having fun, though.
Since the cowboil had moved over to the stove, she took a few moments to join him and warm herself up. "... Why would he be doing this, I wonder? That one girl mentioned revenge for last year. Honestly, I have no idea what she's talking about, but it worries me. Why would Amityville attack Christmas? What the hell did we have to gain from that?" She held her gloved hands out to the stove as she spoke, rubbing them together every once in awhile. "It seems like if it's not one thing, it's another. Either we're dealing with FEAR-hating humans, peppermint crapping JOY spewers, or our own personal s**t." She had plenty of that to hold her over inbetween attacks.
"I tell you what, if I'm not some kind of super powered juggernaut by the time I graduate, I'm giving up."

"We certainly have had little time to rest." Mot agreed, sniffling behind the scarf. He laughed at Riyo's conclusion, grinning. "Me too, Riyo, me too." After all of the things they went through, it would certainly be nice if they came out of it with something other than broken bones and bruised egos.
Mot sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Welp. We're wasting time here. Let's try and solve this mystery, team."

"There's been a lot of things happening lately," Xiu agreed, looking grim and she paused from her play with the cats and turned to face Riyo and Mot, "But we got through everything else, so...we can only hope that we get through this as well." There was snow everywhere, and it seemed as if some Christmas creatures had invaded the place as well. What could they do about all this, she wondered?
But Mot was right. Reluctantly, the baku made her way towards the pair and held the stick up to Riyo for her to take ack. "I guess we should get going."
