 The stars were guiding him to a part of the swamp Inner Universe rarely did wander in. It made him think that perhaps there was something waiting for him here, as things rarely did happen without a reason. At least, that was what Inner thought. For now, through, it was time for a break - he looked up and tilted his head a bit. The sky seemed unusually cloudly... Ah, well. Such things did happen. This was a good place to rest, and wait for Nova Dust to catch up with him. He always seemed to forget the turtle couldn't keep up with him that easily...

Somewhere in the distance, there was a thump and a minor splash. Not too long after, a curt rustle sounded from the foliage. Another. A longer rustle. A doe emerged.
In the darkness of the overcast night, the vivid green glow of her eyes, and the spots and streaks down her chest and sides, rather distracted from the rest of her frame - or one might have noted the disarray her darker pelt was in.
"Does that turtle," she said, in the clipped, frosty tones of a doe not accustomed to having her fur out of place, and direly not impressed by the experience, "in the middle of nowhere, tripping up perfectly innocent passers-by, belong to you?"

Turtle ? In the middle of the way ? Oh, oh dear ! That certainly wouldn't do.
"Nova, stop bothering the lady." A gentle headnudge was given to the animal, who, well... seemed used to it, or at least it seemed so by the fact that she allowed it and even moved in the direction where she was being gently pushed.
"My apologies. Nova rarely looks where she goes." The same could be said for her owner, actually, but he preferred to keep that unsaid. "Are you alright ?"

She had expected a bit of fight, a little argument, perhaps, or at least plain belligerence in the face of blame. After all, she well knew, turtles in the middle of nowhere, tripping up perfectly innocent passers-by, weren't exactly a rare occurrence, owned or otherwise - it wasn't like they could scramble out of the way. There was no such resistance coming from this buck, ergo, her ire deflated. Not completely, but enough to thaw some of the ice from her voice. "Yes, I am." She said. It did not hurt that, even in the dim, cloudy night, she could see he was rather handsome.

Inner was quite honestly used to be blamed for all sorts of things - he was just as absent-minded as Nova Shot supposedly was, if not more so - being at the wrong place at the wrong time was a daily occurrence for the most part and Inner had gotten used to taking things in stride.
Given that he'd been chased by all sorts of things, Lone's chilly reception wasn't so bad at all. "Oh, I am glad." He said with a nod. Such a pretty doe like her certainly should not get hurt, oh no.
"How could I make this up to you ?" He asked, genuinely wanting to make up for the inconvinence.

Make this up to her? She looked over the buck with a wary eye - he appeared to be entirely earnest. Not at all like the usual manner of bucks she associated with, no. She wasn't sure if she liked that, yet.
"Do you know," she finally said, after a moment of measured thought, "of any rare foods...or libations? Not those from Mirebeat and Walks-Between, I've tried them all."

"Hm..." A thoughtful sound, as he pondered. Liberations... Well, he'd never tried such thing on purpose, which wasn't to say there hadn't been accidents - some less pleasant than others.
But rare foods he could think of. "Actually... I know of berries that seem to grow only here. Plump and sweet, but I figure you probably know of them already." Didn't hurt to bring it to attention just in case, right ?

Her ears pricked at the information he volunteered. "Only here? ...No, I have never tried those. I don't usually come out here." Where it was so quiet, so devoid of revelry. She had only wandered so far because - well! The evening's theatre had been so boring, a retelling she had seen a thousand times. And then she had been angered at the staidness, angered by her boredom, and walked farther than she'd intended, straight into a turtle. "Where exactly may we find them?"
