Eric was making his way toward a park where he knew people would be, since there was going to be a big holiday party near there tonight. Lovers walking through the dark might like to hear his guitar music, and to men wanting to seem generous might drop a few coins in a starving artists' open guitar case, but he was stuck on a main street where a large group of people were hogging a sidewalk looking at a window display.
Eric tried to smile and gently make his way through the group, but kept getting closed out. He liked holiday spirit, but he had somewhere to be, and the street it was right up on was busy with speeding cars.
Eric shook his head.
"Um, excuse me, coming through."
He pushed again, trying to get through.

Zia was trying not to be so grim about the holidays, especially when a lover of shopping an retail delights like herself had so many shopping opportunities. So on the walk home from work she stopped for her usual latte and took a less than usual stroll around to check out the window displays.
She was expecting some competing looky-loos, but they were apparently blocking the sidewalk, and some poor guy was trying to push his way past.
Normally she wouldn't have paid him too much attention other than the note about this place was apparently popular to garner such a crowd, but when he pushed near her she realized how remarkably familiar he was.
He was that boy! The one from the Virgo outpost when she was assisting with ********* and the chibi senshi. Except her perception might'e been a little off because now he seemed less like 'some boy' and more like a guy closer to her own age. And he was the first Surrounding civilian she'd seen after the 'incident'. She had questions for him, damn it. She knew he wouldn't remember her, if he even still had memories, because she wasn't the cat eared lady from the outpost. Just a normal, human twenty-something dressed in her work clothes.
But that didn't stop her from reaching out and grabbing his arm through the crowd.
"Excuse me! Red head!"

Now if you call out in a crowd 'Hey, brunette guy!' you are likely to get the attention of half the people there, and not likely to get the attention of the guy you're talking too, even if you are holding his arm. But Eric, like most red heads, realized how distinctive his hair was, and was used to being identified by his hair color, so he turned to look.
"Uhm, Hi?"
What else do you say when someone calls you out like that?
"Uh, can I help you?"

"Hi!" Zia chirped before withdrawing into her jacket a little. Ugh, crowds. Everyone bustling and bumping into each other, stray arms touching her expensive business chic fashion.
The obvious solution was to push her way out and attempt to drag Surrounding-human-guy with her. Which she did, for the most part.
"Hey, you're one of those kidnapped people, right? The ones that went missing?" She wasn't exactly as contemptuous as she had been in the Surrounding. But hey, dual parallel souls are complicated. "Sorry," She added with a bit of a flippant laugh, "I didn't know your name."

"Oh! Yes I was, here wait a second."
He forced himself out of the group, extending her a hand in greeting and aid getting out of the bustle.
"My names Eric. I have to admit, I don’t remember you, but I'm not good with faces. Were you stationed at the virgo base?"
He didn't think too much about the fact that they were surrounded by people who didn’t know what he was talking about. He’d seemed crazy to people before and survived it, he could seem crazy tonight. It wasn’t like he knew any of these people anyway. Except her, apparently.

Zia tried really hard not to react. She wasn't about to just give her alternate identity up to this random guy, and she couldn't say she was one of the missing. With the exception of one or two trips she was very much not missing from her earthly duties during that time.
"Um... haha... what? What are you talking about?" She said, trying her hardest to give him a look like she thought he was crazy. Which was a little forced since she had been at the Virgo outpost at one point. Maybe she had just been secretly hoping they retain very many memories.
"No, I just... saw you on the news," That was plausible, right? Had the missing people been on the news? Maybe she could say she saw him in the background of a shot.
"So like, you guys really think you've been to space and all that junk?"

Eric furrowed his eyebrows at her. That was a little strange, shed made it sound like... oh well. Not important.
"Oh. Well, yeah. I was... somewhere, we we're told it was space. Im not sure who there I could trust or anything like that. They were things there, people or aliens or something, and they called themselves Senshi. But I think some of them were the ones who brought us there, they had the ability to travel back and forth but 'couldn’t bring us with them'. I wasn't sure which of them I could trust."
Suddenly he looked at her warily.
"Or who I can trust now. What did you say your name was again?"

"Well!" Zia tried her best to seem like she wasn't quite getting it. It was better to seem like a ditzy news groupie than someone who had a secret 'alien' identity. "That certainly sounds like... an... adventure." And almost without enough pause to breath, she jumped on the question about her name when she'd previously ignored it. Just to change the subject.
"Oh! Sorry. Zia. Zia Connolly, I work at Davis and Wilson Brokerage," She introduced, shifting the latte in her hand to the left before extending her right hand out to shake. "I just came from there when I saw you."

Eric nodded, shaking her hand in a firm shake.
"Pleasure to meet you, Zia. As I said, I'm Eric. I work..."
He looked at the street around him, and the people pressing near the window display. He was hoping that maybe this group would disperse soon.
"Well, wherever I feel like actually, I'm a bit of a street performer see, play my guitar for passersby. Probably not as well paying as a working at a brokerage, but I enjoy it enough. Just out for a stroll this evening?"
He made a motion to indicate the street when he said evening.
“Or were you going somewhere in particular?”
