Terra snarled softly. It seemed that food was becoming harder and harder to come by. The batwalker eyed the terrain with a disdainful snort. A thin skiff of snow covered the ground. What was the point in winter? For a predator it was meager pickings once the season set in. A small rustling sound caught the mare's attention and she located the culprit. Her gaze locked on a small hare that was nearby and Terra sighed. She couldn't be choosy about her meals. With a little bit of effort Terra began to stalk her prey.
The hare must've sensed her presence as it took off rather quickly. A growl escaped Terra as she watched a potential meal seek cover. With a shuffle of her wings the mare continued on her way - her stomach grumbling. She was definitely not in a good mood. Loathe to anyone who got in her way.Teepee Link - http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=18150559&page=1

The starry batwalker took careful steps through the snow. She already had an encounter with hidden ice and did not want to go through that trouble again. This winter stuff was obnoxious, and made her despise her family even more. That family of "Skydancers" loved the snow, especially since the matriarch came from the snowy north.
"Stupid snow. Stupid ice." Neva muttered as she continued making her way through the snow. Really made it near impossible to find others to torment and meals were scarce as well, but she could handle the lack of meals. It was the lack of being able to torment others that bothered her.

Terra swung her gaze back and forth repeatedly. She hid in a patch of shadows. A lone deer had wandered into her sight and Terra gazed hungrily at the animal. It was a young male. The points on his antlers just starting to branch out. The animal looked healthy enough and so Terra knew that she'd have a fight on her hand if she blew her cover too early. Silence was deadly.
A stray crunching sound registered in Terra's mind as her ears twitched in aggravation. Something else was out in the general area. Her prey paused and raised its head before darting off into the thick foliage. Terra gave a rather loud snarl of frustration before marching in the direction of the crunching sound. Her anger bubbled just under the surface.
A few minutes of walking and the batwalker paused before blinking at the sight before her. Another of her kind seemed to be muttering angrily as it plodded through the snow. This was not the blue-starred pelt of the male Jayden from before. No this female was someone new. Already angry at the loss of her meal Terra gave snarl at the figure. "You've cost me my meal. Tell me why I shouldn't take my vengeance on you instead."

Neva snapped out of her muttering and glared at the one who dared to take her on. "I cost you your meal? I really don't think I did." She smirked as she looked at the other mare. Another batwalker, the first one she has encountered since she became cursed, though in her opinion it was a blessing.
"Honestly, my dear, you are the one at fault. You aren't half as skilled as you think you are if you couldn't catch something with all of this snow around." With that she kicked some at the other mare, not caring in the least how she would react. "Now, if you would please be so kind as to step aside, I have some plans to figure out." The mare knew that she was just antagonizing the other batwalker, but it would keep her amused for a short time at least.

Terra's gaze narrowed as the other batwalker insinuated that it was her fault for not being able to run down her prey. The bit of snow that the other mare kicked at her didn't bother her in the least. The words hurt most of all. "Why should I let you pass at all? What makes you so special that you'd be able to suggest that?"
Terra bared her teeth and flared her wings. They snapped open with an audible crack. "You insinuate that it was my fault my prey escaped. I was doing fairly well stalking the creature. It was your footsteps crunching in the snow that startled it into running. So tell me why again I should let you be on your way?"

Neva gave an over exaggerated sigh and glared at the other batwalker. "I'm not special, I'm just better than you are. That's all. If you can't even keep up with your prey if it gets startled, you shouldn't even be allowed to call yourself a hunter. Now, excuse me."
With that she walked past the other batwalker, flicking her tail into the mare's face as she walked by. She knew it would start something, but she wanted to see just how much patience this particular batwalker had. "You must be easy prey for others though. Must wonder just how long you'll survive at this rate." She called back as she kept going in the direction she had been heading.

The tail flick into her face had Terra's muscles quivering with the need to pounce on this other skinwalker. She was already angered by the loss of a kill this other mare had the nerve to go and taunt her. Waves of aggression threatened to swamp her mind as she stared at the already retreating form. The words that were spoken rang hollow in Terra's ears. This was apparently the last straw.
'Easy prey?'
Terra gave a low snarl as she began to paw at the ground in irritation. This was no threat display though. The only thought in her mind was that this mare had to pay for her words. Terra charged towards Neva without much thought. Instinct had taken over.

Neva's ears twitched as she heard the pawing coming from behind her. The snarl made her roll her eyes in amusement. So pathetic. The pale colored batwalker wasn't going to be caught off-guard by such an obvious attack. And so she let the other walker charge at her. Let her get as close as she could. She wheeled around and watched the other bat demon come at her. It had been awhile since she had last been in a fight, and this particular batwalker amused her. "Such a pathetic walker you make. I'm surprised you haven't been hunted down yet." she said as she waited for the attack to come.
