The weather was so nice this early morning, it was perfect to travel in. White snow was crisp and new on the ground. The air held a calm chill, and the clouds in the sky were in thick abundance, just the way Alabaster liked it. She Loved the sun but in small doses. Her plan was if she left soon, she would be able to stop and rest near the denser part of the forest maybe even for a few days if weather permitted. Alabaster normally traveled along the outer edge of the forest, it was easier to navigate but something just told her to go that way. Alabaster had learned to listen to her "urges". Listening to it has always brought her to someplace she needed to be, where yet she was unsure. "Everything happens for a reason good or bad, you just have too find out why." was her favorite motto and one she took to heart. Alabaster had enjoyed this short visit with K'jani and the family, she just hasn't been able to stay in one spot for very long. She had not seen them in years. Seeing the children grown had warmed her heart and broken it all at the same time. Sad she had never had her own, maybe it was just never ment to be... She shook off the painful thoughts as she gazed around the small hut she had stayed in, it was cozy with a simple straw bed and thick furs. Everything was back in place just the way it was when she had arrived. "Time to go." she said quietly to herself gathering what little things she traveled with. She said her goodbyes and parted ways from the small camp. She wasn't sure where she was headed next. Never putting much thought into it she started off heading south straight toward the heart of Nivae's forest. It's been years since she had taken this way, I wonder how much of the forest has changed... As the day passed she made good distance on the snow covered land, the only thing that troubled her now was the weather. It had turned from perfect to highly questionable. The snow had started to fall around noon and from there on out the nice weather had slowly progressed to nasty. With the winds whipping her about and the snow gradually getting worse making visibility near to nothing, Alabaster felt all turned around. Pulling her white fur lined jacket close, she tried to locate somewhere to wait out this strange storm hoping she found something that might be helpful. It's not to bad yet you've been out in worse... she tried to tell herself as she stumbled her way threw the trees.

A lone reindeer cervi had been resting quietly in the snow among a dense thicket of trees, contemplating to himself. Since all the little ones he had once watched over had up and grown, his home had been so quiet. Where the male cervi had never been lonely in his solitude before, something now felt as though it were missing from his place in the heart of the forest. There was no laughter, no yelling, no crying, no chasing, no fighting...it was peaceful.
Peaceful was the ideal atmosphere for a taur in Fritzi's years, but for some reason he felt as though the childrens' restlessness had rubbed off on him. Now it was he who couldn't sit still. Now it was he would couldn't stand the silence. Now it was him who wanted to laugh and yell and shout to the world - but in vain, for there was no one to hear him. All his young charges had left to live on their own. In their wake, they left an emptiness in Fritzi's heart that hadn't been there before, and the adult cervi was determined to fill it. But with what?
Winter was always the time of year that Fritzi felt the most confident in leaving his safe haven and overstepping his boundaries. This season, though, he had been aching for winter to come with more enthusiasm than ever before. He wanted something exciting to happen, like a child awaiting Santaur Nikolous. Perhaps spending so much time with children had made him more child-like than ever before.
How silly,, he thought, shaking his head. I'm too old to be thinking and feeling like this. What's gotten into me? The Christmas spirit, he secretly suspected. It eventually got into everyone. This year, though, it seemed to have come so much sooner than usual. What's the reason for all of this?
Unable to stand the restlessness that had taken a hold of him lately, he lifted himself onto his thick legs and stretched to warm them up before deciding on a route to take through the trees. Perhaps there would be someone new or something interesting beyond his home today.
Maybe if he just ventured out a little, he could satisfy his new, youthful hunger for adventure and excitement. It wasn't yet Christmas, but his building energy wouldn't let him remain still as he had been content to do for most of his life. Memories of a happier, more exciting time stirred, promising happier times to come if he only sought them out.
Each day of winter, Fritzi ventured farther and farther from his home before returning by nightfall. One particular day, however, a strong wind began to blow up in the afternoon and whipped his long hair about in his face. He paused to brush it away, his sight hindered just long enough for his antlers to get caught on an overhanging branch. When he finally managed to untangle himself, he had decided to turn back toward home when something caught his attention.
A ghostly-white figure - almost like a snow spirit or an apparition - revealed itself to him for a moment, surrounded by the swirling snow. His gold eyes squinted, trying to make it out, but it had already disappeared again. No...it couldn't be... he thought silently. How many years has it been? "Alabaster!" he called into the howling winds. "Alabaster, is that you?"

The wind howled around Alabaster's small frame as she moved with care threw the thick snow. It whiped her hair across her face blocking her vision makeing her pause in the snow to push her thick hair away from her eyes so she could see to continue.
"Alabaster"
huh that's weird, that almost sounds like my name......
"Alabaster is that you?"
she realized over the wind a voice was calling her name she was happy she wasnt going crazy. Alabaster turned in the direction of the owner of that voice. Faceing the voice all she could make out was a very large cervitaur with an impressive rack. By the spirit, It couldn't be,.... "Fritzi." warmth spread threw her chest as she look across the snow at Fritzi. Alabaster felt a smile tug at the corner of her lips as she waved at Fritzi hopeing he could make her out apart from all this snow. Feeling as giddy as a fawn she all but bounced threw the snow with so many questions buzzing threw her head. Alabaster couldn't wait to see him up close again. She tripped in the snow not paying better attention, catching herself she slowed down a bit as she approached paying closer attention to her footing.

The reindeer cervi's hopeful grin only grew as he heard his name in reply, followed by a wave of Alabaster's delicate arm. She really did look nice in her fur coat, but it made it almost impossible for him to spot her. If he hadn't lived where he did for most of his life and learned to distinguish snow from the creatures within it, he probably wouldn't have noticed her at all.
"It is you," he breathed, the happiness in his chest only warming him more as clouds of hot breath rose from his mouth. "It's so wonderful to see you again! Oh - careful! Watch yourself," Fritzi added, darting forward to help when she tripped. She quickly caught herself, though, and her enthusiasm made the male cervi laugh. Hurrying toward her the rest of the way on his broader reindeer hooves (with more surface area more adapted to walking on snow than, perhaps, Alabaster's dainty hooves were) he soon closed the space between them with a tight embrace. "I missed you so much."

Depspite the chilled wind, Alabaster was warmed to the bone by Fritzi's welcome as he rushed to help her threw the snow his laugh like music to her ears. As Fritzi approached, Alabaster was reminded just how broad shouldered he was and how well he was adapted for this snowy weather as he made it across the snow without any hassel.
Alabaster was taken aback, as she was wrapped in a tight embrace. Not sure quite how to react, Alabaster was not use to anyone seeking out contact with her. mmm this is nice After a moment she relaxed and returned the tight embrace nuzzleing his chest a bit breathing in his warm sent befor she looked up with surprise in her pink gaze. "You missed me?" I must be dreaming she thought to herself.

After a moment, Fritzi, realizing his embrace was a bit...sudden and unexpected, particularly from him, released his old friend. He still kept her close, though, not wanting her to catch cold. Despite her coat, she was still pale, and that wasn't very good for trapping heat in the freezing weather. "Of course I missed you," he laughed again, surprised at her reaction. "It's been years! You being the adventurous wanderer you are, and me being the homebody I am...well, I didn't know if I'd ever see you again," he admitted, feeling his face grow particularly hot as he looked away.
Taking her gently by the shoulders, he walked beside her, guiding her toward a warmer area of the woods where the trees were more densely packed and the wind couldn't get at them so easily. "Here, come this way. I'll try to build you a fire. When did you return?" He marveled at her bubble gum pink eyes - exactly as he remembered them. "You're as beautiful as ever," he murmured under his breath without really thinking.
