User Image Sato Shibuya felt very overwhelmed by everything. The past months had passed in a blurr and the seasons had seemed to change from summer to autumn and now winter in a blink of an eye. Yet one thing had remained constant.... Zeeke. After her conversation with Drashi she knew that she would do anything for him.... he was her other half, and without him she would never truely be whole; but worst still she would forever more know it now that she had found him.

She searched the Imps land quickly trying to find him, overnight a great fall of snow had blanketed the ground, and although it was chilling she couldn't wait any longer.... Zeeke had promised to take her out exploring the winter wonderland. She had never been this high up in the mountains before, it was colder, thicker, and that just made her excitment roar to life.

Plus Sato had a secret, a secret she was desperate to share with him.

"Zeeke?" She called, her voice a soft call as she feared louder would dislogde the snow and force it fall down the mountain side. Her eyes scanned the winter wonderland.... he was bound to be here, somewhere, but since he was a body of white she was having difficultly spotting him.

She searched for what seemed forever, circling the area once or twice. She took a break, looked out over the mountain side to the world of wonder and magic below. It was beautiful.

After his meeting with a mischeivous little filly, and acting as a temporary prank instructor, he had come to terms with some very in depth thoughts - Being Zeeke, this was unusual; extremely unusual. He already knew before coming to terms, that he loved Sato. She had changed his life for the better, creating a new him rather than the hot mess he was before that. Now, he considered children, family and an even brighter future. She got on well with his family, they loved her welcoming her with open arms. He hoped she liked them as much as they liked her but he wasn't really sure, they hadn't dotted on that line of conversation just yet he just knew, he hadn't been fair. Putting her under so much pressure all at once.

That's why he had promised to take her out, once the snow had fallen and covered the land in a blanket of white. Pure, innocent and beautiful. Pffft, it was cold, wet and hard to see it that way because of those factors, regardless it was fun to frolic around in it! Pushing through the snow, one heavy, snow-covered hoof at a time, he wove around the tree's until he caught sight of his beautiful princess waiting and calling for him. He would of just gone over but instead he made his way behind a tree, laughing lightly.

It wouldn't be so hard to find him, if he wasn't the same glistening colour as everything else at this point. He wondered how long it would take her... He wouldn't be that mean though, he just waited till she had her back turned, looking out at the world below the mountain, and made a leap to her side. "BOO!" He shouted, very immature, he knew but then quickly reached out to comfort nuzzle her with a chuckle. "Hi darling, fancy seeing you here." He grinned madly with a flirty wink, spreading out his wings to shuffle off the gathering of snow upon them.

"You excited for our trip? Just me and you."

Sato nearly jumped out of her skin and over the mountain side she had been looking at so fondly. If it hadn't been for the gentle caress of his wing upon her she may very well have carried through with the notion. Instead she turned her head to look at him, pouting with a fake look of hurt upon her features before leaning up to kiss him, a beaming smile covering his features. Even if she had been mad it wouldn't have lasted long... it rarely did. And one thing Sato would never try to do was change him... he was her joker, the man that made her smile more than anyone else in the world. And he loved him for it.

As Zeeke asked his question she nodded enthusiatically, "Yes!" It had felt like forever since they had been alone, truely alone, just the two of them.... so yes, she was excited. So much so she felt like a young filly again. She wiggled, nestling into his side and nuzzling his neck before burying her nose into his mane. Her wing had healed, thanks to Zeeke's family but it was still fragile and tender, she had yet to use it much since the injury.

Changing her thoughts she beamed up at him, "So.... where are we going first?" Her mind was already wandering to the idea of throwing a snowball at him when he least expected it.... what could she say, he was rubbing off on her.

Zeeke blinked rather blankly at her, he wasn't sure if he had seen her this enthusiastic before. Wow, maybe she really did miss it just being the two of them.. It was a good job he had this to discuss with her. He smiled warmly as she burried in to his mane and brushed against his side, the warmth made him shiver with pleasure. He couldn't resist arching his neck over hers for more of that loving warmth.

"Are you sure you're up to it?"
He asked softly by her ear, eyes directing towards her wing. It hadn't been so long since it had started to feel better, so long as she had been exercising and taking baby steps they could fly and yet it was still risky, or they could take the longer route and go down the mountain trail, which was the safer of the two options even with it's slippy, narrow slope. "I just don't want you to get hurt, in case it's too much too soon." He paused. "Flying, I mean."

He pulled back slowly to give her room, stepping back he tilted his head. "Plus, I have another surprise for you." He gave a nervous laugh, remembering their trip here through the forest. "One that doesn't consist of a dark forest and wolves."

Sato rolled her eyes at his protectiveness and couldn't help but smile, it was nice to have someone who actually cared... of course that didn't mean she wasn't about it to do it anyway! She nudged him and said plainly; "It's time. I can do this." She wanted so much to feel the wind in her hair, to feel that floating freedom that couldn't be denied. "But I promise to tell you the moment I get tired or it aches." It was a truce, something she probably wouldn't have done before getting to know Zeeke; she had always been a stubborn mare.

But all thoughts of flight went out of her thoughts as she heard the word 'surprise', like a young filly she wiggled her rump causing her long tail to swish from side to side in anticipation. "A surprise?" He eyes almost popped, today must be a day of secrets and surprises, she thought. Trying to control her features she smiled over at him, he seemed almost nervous for some reason.... but perhaps that was simply from the reminder of the wolf that 'played' with them in the forest when he wing had been broken. It wasn't a nice memory, and sometimes Sato was sure she had nightmares of it. Eyes watching from the shadows.... "That wasn't your fault." She said with a gentle smile, rubbing her nose into his neck before looking to the world they were about to join again once more, she had been far too long upon the mountain side.

She would have once simply snapped her wings open, ready for flight in a moment but she took it slowly today, easing the jonints and bones into positions; after all she would never get to fly if she damaged it again. Soon both of her wings were spread, she gulped, though she wouldn't admit out loud that she was a little nervous.

Zeeke watched as her eyes gave him the dismissal of interest in his worries, he lifted an eyebrow and sighed. Same, stubborn mare as ever but he loved her for it. She certainly knew how to keep him on the tip of his hooves at all times. He let out a small smile at her optimism. It was true they had been through a lot to get to this moment, all in the name of fixing her wing. Guess she did owe it to herself for being so strong. "Ok, ok." He finally agreed, nodding his head. "BUT the slightest aches or pains and you will tell me. Right. Promise me Sato."

His face was concealed in worry, he didn't know the concern was showing on his features but it menat a lot to him that she didn't hurt like she had already with him around. She was his now, his baby and he wanted to protect her from all that and keep her safe... Wow, what was this woman doing to him!? He looked to the side out at the wonderland below and smiled a little wider. If she was excited just at the thought of the two of them going on the trip then the surprise might give her a damn heart attack of enthusiasm. "Yup, a surprise." He laughed. "I'm sure you will love it. It's part of the reason were going out in this winter wasteland today- I mean, wonderland."

He turned his head to look at her once more. "Ready?" He stretched out his wings in to position and took stance. "3, 2..." He started, before trotting off to the ledge. "1, GO!"

Sato smiled and nodded to Zeeke, before giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. She couldn't hold his concern against him; after all it was only because he loved and cared for her, and who could ever fault that. Plus, Zeeke made her happy... and was taking her out today!

Part of hated that she was teasing him with a surprise, almost as if she wanted to know NOW, she couldn't wait.... maybe it had just been so long since they had spend some time alone. Still, she wouldn't rush him.... or make it known that she was being extra impatient today, after all he was only likely to tease her more and drive her insane. She giggled, but caught herself swiftly since that would likely mean she would have to explain her thinking.

"To wonderland...." She said as she followed his count and took off only a moment after him. It hurt a little, but she suspected that was because she hadn't used it like this in a long while. Yes, she probably should have told Zeeke but after a few flaps the pain was gone and she felt far better. If he asked she wouldn't lie... but.... well.... she really wanted to fly.

The world of white around her was beautiful and magical. It glistened and sparkled like a dream around her. And part of Sato feared that it would vanish if she blinked.

After a moment, simply enjoying the way the wind felt flowing all around her she turned her head towards Zeeke and asked; "Where to?" She would follow Zeeke anywhere... to the end of the world and back.

On take off Zeeke kept watch from the corner of his eye on how she was doing with her wing, how well she had adjusted to the pressure it hadn't felt in a while, although from what he could see through the flaps of his own wings, she handled it with great ease. He couldn't help but smile. ' I knew you could do it' he thought proudly before directing his eyes down at the world below them.

The earth was caked in a blanket of icing, even though he didn't care much for scenery or how the seasons changed; only the difference it made for living in, it really did look beautiful. Showering the firns and evergreens, the opposing mountains and it's tower of steam from the 'hotsprings' as his brother had called it from his travels.

He slowed in the flight to fly along side his beloved and turned his eyes from below on to her once more. "How does it look?" He asked, with a small knowing chuckle, sounding like the answer had already been asumed. "Where would the lady like to explore first? A frozen lake to skate across? The plains for a stroll.." Or maybe even a sneaky snowball or two from him. "We could even take a trip to the warm mountains over there if you like?" He gave the suggestions, his surprise wouldn't come till later, even as eager as she would be to know what it was, so now it was up to her. After all it was her day out!

Sato simply closed her eyes for a moment and enjoyed the breeze, enjoyed being free, enjoyed the company.... the meeting with Drashi felt like a life time ago, gone was the doubt and the dread, gone was the fear.... she was ready to commit completely. Her eyes snapped open, and she looked down at the snow covered world. It was.... stunning. A small gasp escaped her lips.

She recovered quickly as Zeeke gave her options... and it was a simple desicion to make. Her heart beating slightly faster at his first suggestion, with bubbling excitment she spoke quickly -almost afraid that the moment was too fragile and would crack. "Frozen Lake....." She beamed as she turned to Zeeke again, "Please." She added, before starting the descent towards the glistening mass of water..... it was.... stunning!

Zeeke nodded, he was sure whatever they did together would be fun. Angling his glide towards the lake, twinkling like an alien ocean of daylight stars, he lowered with Sato making one sweep over it. He could feel the icy paricals against his coat and wings and behind them was a gust of what could of been mistaken as glitter. Unfortunately, with the distraction he hadn't accounted for the large lump of snow he was heading right towards and in an instant his sight was blank, body was cased in a cold, wet casket. Still as a statue.

With a hard gulp, pushing up he gasped for breath and blinked, staring forward in confusion to find Sato in all this. His body still had mounds of snow piled on top of him but even in his idiot fail attempt at a landing, he couldn't help but laugh madly. "Didn't see that coming!" He announced, free of most embarrassments. If he wasn't, by now all of his foolish stunts that had failed would have ended him in some kind of emotional reck. Finally he pushed out of the snow and shook off his coat, shedding bits of it on to her playfully, with a smirk before racing off and trudging through the winter land and leaping on to the ice.

Which had been another mistake waiting to happen. Well Zeeke's legs went every which way and direction before his hooves retracted together, wings spread out trying to catch some balance so he didn't end up face first. He looked back, one eyebrow arched. "Think I'm gonna need some help here, it's not as easy as it looks! By the way... Do you know how to skate? I forgot to ask. It's not something I've thought of trying before honestly."

Yep, he dare not move. He would most definitely need her help on this one but as usual, always diving in head first without thinking. It was a good job he hadn't gone straight through it, that was for sure.

Sato landed with a soft tap, but she nearly lost her footing on the iced floor; making her look like a young filly learning to walk. Of course, just as she got her footing she turned to see the funniest sight she had lay her eyes upon in a long while.... Zeeke, buried up to his head in snow; already a slight tinge of blue on his usually white pelt. She burst into laughter, and once the noise escaped her lips she couldn't seem to get it to stop... at least not until he managed to free himself.

She walked over to him carefully giving him a soft nuzzle before he leaped off towards the glistening face of the ice. It only took a moment for two things to happen... a chuckle and severe concern. She couldn't quite decide what to be, which is why she found herself chuckling as she ran towards him. Stopping caused her to skid and end up on the ice... where she continued to skid and circled backwards as she slid across the ice towards Zeeke's crumpled thought.

Eyes wide. She spread her wings to help her balance and came to a stop with the perfect sight of Zeeke. "Em.... yeah... when I was a kid." She blushed, remembering when her and her sister had managed to convince their father to take them out. She had wobbled at first but eventually got the hang of it... of course, it had been years since she had done anything like that.

She inched towards him, using a rear hoof to push her forward, "Let's get you up." She chimed as she lowered her head to Zeeke's neck in an effort to grab him and help him to his four hooves once more.

It was really endearing when Sato laughed and when it was him that was making her laugh, even out of silly antics and amusement, it was good to hear her voice so happy and filled with life. When they were on the road sometimes it didn't have that ring to it, especially when she was mad at him so now he felt he should make it up to her and give them both a chance to let all that go and start to truly enjoy themselves. It could only get better from then on, right?

She had already taken a shot at skating, well with being as elegant as she was he assumed this would be a natural talent to look so beautiful sliding across in the icy sparks glided by her hooves. "That would have been a sight." He teased, even admist his thoughts. "You as a kid scrambling on the ice." Laughing some more he knew he was no better but he couldn't resist. He accepted her offer and smiled widely as she lowered to support him back to his feet. As a giant lump of horse, he tried not to put too much weight on her in case it came back to bite them in the a** and took them both down.

Steady... Steady and there. Taking one slippery hoof at a time, with Sato's help he managed to regain footing and balance once more, glancing down at her he nuzzled her cheek gently. "Thank you, sugar." He nudged his head. "I think this is where you lead for a change. Ill just be the death of us at this rate." He smiled, winking playfully. Plus, it wouldn't be so bad catching a nice glimpse at her behind swaying back and forth as she lead. Not like that was his intent or anything...

"Hey!" She said with a playful pout as she helped him up, "I was a fantastic skater... much better than my sister." She chuckled softly remember how her sister had had the co-ordination of... well.... an un-co-ordinated squirral with odd length legs.

After a few wobbles, and a slight gasp as she started to bow under his weight -even if it wasn't as if he was putting all of it on her.... Sato simply felt weak, maybe it was because of her wing or maybe it was just her.... her ears flattened to her head for a moment, well, that was before he spoke.

She smiled, her ears popping back up as she looked at her mate and returned his nuzzle, in many ways it didn't matter if she was weaker than him... after all she knew she could rely on him to be what she wasn't and vice versa. "Sure." She chimed, wiggling he tail with a soft playful swoosh.

Tentatively she pushed off again, her legs wobbled but she somehow managed to keep on her all fours, risking a look over her shoulders she playfully called, "Come on slow-poke." She enjoyed playing and teasing him in return. The pendant he had gave her hung around her neck, it held both good and bad memories for her... but the underlining message was clear. It was from Zeeke... because he loved her. And oh, didn't that feeling just send her heart soaring even when her wings didn't work
PostPosted: Thu Feb 02, 2012 11:41 am

Zeeke simply watched for a few moments, eyes training on all of her. Though the upside-down love heart shaped behind was certainly a sight for sore eyes, that's not the reason he would rather her skate ahead of him. It meant he could take in everything she was as she enjoyed herself, see behind the natural grace she had to the memories that were obviously before her and a future that was to soon be theirs. He could imagine them coming back here, when they had children or when they had alone time to relive memories and simply be one together in a happiness both overwhelming and compelling to the stallion.

Physical interaction up to now had always been Zeeke's way of life. Making a fool out of himself to suddenly pull something off and get it right for a change, the feeling of achievement too good to not strive for again and now, that wasn't the same. If he enjoyed something with Sato it didn't take a million tries to get right, it only took her smile to make it as if a volcano had errupted and smothered him in lava making him feel eternally invincible with her. In turn, without her he would feel like nothing. A lost sheep. Zeeke had never been 'lost' before, even if he had been ignored he wouldn't let his presence go unknown for too long without having to take back the spot light.

With a natural, full smile he nodded. What he wanted to say was 'you're perfect in whatever you do' but somehow it felt almost too cheesy and cliche for him, it tangled in his throat and instead made his thoughts take to something else he really did feel he needed to say. Although, the idea that she might not of had the same feelings, of being together forever, a long future ahead of them hadn't actually occurred to him until he pushed off, skating after her. Letting the ice guide his shuddering limbs of uncertainty in to the path she skated before him, he watched as her pendant bounced, her legs gradually folded back in to a skill they had once met before on the ice, her hair as it curled around her features and flooded back to the breeze, created by the motion.

It had only just hit him that she had called him a name, which to that his eyes widened and as slow as ever, he replied. "Hmm..?" Before smirking and clicking on. "You got the head start advantage, remember." He stuck out his tongue slightly at her, the icy p***k of the wind telling him to retract it again in fear it may just freeze that way as he pushed a bit faster, soon finding the motion easier to manouver, enough to slide by her side and brush his muzzle delicately by her ear. "I could never be without you. Sato... You're my everything." he whispered, then decided to carry on ahead after holding a place at a side for a short moment. Everything inside him wanted to get ahead of himself and pull another stunt to flee from the unknown feeling, coursing throughout him but his thoughts carried him to a more responsible reaction, which was the slow, steady pace he already knew. Gulping a knot of anxiety, his eyes faded to the side only spying the colours of Sato. Wondering if his thoughts were their future, or if all this would one day come crashing to a devastating halt, pushed away by an alternative bundle of feelings.

He really hoped it wouldn't, this was the one, beautiful opportunity he had ever had the pleasure of taking. He could never be more happier than he already had been with his princess.

Skating ahead of him, with a little added swish of her hips for Zeeke's sake she looked over her shoulder to see him looking entirely serious... what was he thinking about? Was it simply him trying to concentrate on not falling flat on his rump again? She dislodged the thoughts as she turned to focus on the path ahead of her. There was a soft smile upon her face that didn't want to shift, she felt so free, so liberated... yet at the same time she was glad she got to share this with Zeeke. She was the slice of her heart that had been missing and without him she knew she would feel empty; especially now that she knew exactly what she was missing.

Sato had been about to say something when she felt the warm presence of Zeeke by her side just before his warm breath licked her ear and his words tumbled forth. She blushed softly, not from embarassement but from joy, she had never expected to hear those sort of things from Zeeke, but when she did she always cherished them. The smile on her lips widened and she simply enjoyed bathing in his warmth. It disappeared too suddenly but she couldn't complain since she got to see a glimpse of his rump.

That was when she decided it was time to tell him.... everything seemed right. They were enjoying their time together, smiling and laughing, playing and growing.... yes, now seemed like a good time. It was because she had this little jewel of information that she hadn't noticed the sudden wiery sadness in Zeeke, even as she caught him up and rubbed her side across his for a moment before copying his earlier move by whispering into his ear; "We're going to have a baby." Ok, so she knew she should probably have said some other lovey dovey words, maybe express her love for him and how she could never be without him either... but nothing came out, all she could think about was how sure she was that they were pregnant.... it was still very early days; and she wouldn't want anyone else but Zeeke to know... but this was Zeeke! Her other half, and the father of her unborn child.

The smile on her lips widened, her heart thundering within her chest as she waited for his responce. How would he take it? They hadn't exactly spoken about children... hadn't been trying... and if anything part of her worried that he would feel too trapped by the prospect of children; especially since he was such a happy-go-lucky guy at times. But Sato had faith that this wouldn't crush who Zeeke was... but add to him. Or at least, she hoped it would.

Her nerves started to build, and while she waited for an answer it felt as if a eternity had passed!
