Jaida was a wanderer, going where she pleased when it was allowed. She had learned quickly that some herds didn't appreciate a stranger trotting through no matter how innocent her passage was. She rarely came to harm and rarely found herself in trouble. But being alone for so long she wasn't knowledgeable in such things.
Which brought her close to another herd and she was oblivious. The season rarely called for rain but it had poured the day before and lightly drizzled that morning. It was well into the afternoon but the ground was still soggy in some places. The green and white mare found a large puddle of mud and had a time of rolling around in it. Running through and skidding on her hooves. She pranced around kicking up globs of the brown gunk around her. She whinied happily in her playing. The white markings were dirty and clouded looking more brown and grey in hue. Even her prettier green fur had darkened and was heavily spotted in mud on her rump. Her mane and tail were a mess of tangles and mud as well. She stepped out of the puddle and trotted several feet away. To anyone watching she would seemingly be moving on. But Jaida quickly turned and galloped right back to it, kicking up more of the gunk around her. She stomped her hooves enjoying the sounds they made in contact with the mud.
