Shina stepped out into the courtyard, the last remnants of some old building, now little more than a smooth, relatively flat clearing. Shina looked around to make sure she wouldn’t be disturbing anyone and decided she was far enough away from the rest of the group. She stretched out, then stood and cued her music player, the small speakers piping the music through the space. Shina began slowly, as strings played leisurely and a clear soprano began singing. Her arms and legs moved in smooth arcs as she tested her muscles. Then the percussion started, and with the driving beat a flurry of punches came. Kicks and knee strikes and elbow strikes began to show up as well as the song slowed slightly, the beat still strong. Eventually the song slowed, and Shina moved through a few throws for the brief time. The return of the percussion brought a return of blows, now with the occasional throw and trip move. The song ended, and Shina stood panting in the early morning air.

River had dragged herself out of the comfort of her sleeping bag extra early that morning, riding the damned bike all day was doing little to ease the burst of unwanted energy that kept her from falling into a restful slumber. It was ever so troublesome.

Elongating her stride the nineteen-year old leapt over a set of logs that blocked her path then tucked into a roll. Skidding several feet past her mark the redhead sprung to her feet smirking at her use of parkour, she was getting much better at it and barely ended up on her face or taking the full blow of an impact when she collided to the ground from an elevated fall. Oh yes, she was so damn epic.

‘You took my heart, deceived me right from the start,’ the song that caught in her ears made the lithe framed teenager stiffen, her attention was completely redirected from her morning jog, someone else was out here. Someone listening to chick music. Oh she just had to settle her curiosity. Slinking out of the cover of natural foliage the former dancer felt her breath catch in her throat. It was that one woman that she had seen several times, the one that rented the bike for her and set up the whole caravan. ‘You broke a promise and made me realize,’ the strain of the cloth gathered at her legs snapping out, crying into the morning air sent a shiver down River’s spine, she was so elegant with every motion she made. Like a dancer. ‘It was all just a lie.’

Standing there slightly slag jawed the blue eyed trainer held her trembling hands against her hips as a stitch suddenly stabbed at her side, even after so many years of daily practice she couldn’t get her breathing pattern down just right to prevent the painful ache wedging between her ribs.

“Eh-” she gruffly mewled in a heavy breath. “Morning-- sh-- s--aah--- Shina.”

Shina whirled, eyes widening as she saw the other girl. “Oh! Please excuse me! I didn’t mean to bother you!” Shina exclaimed, bowing. She blushed a little that someone had heard her workout music. It was …rather aggressive, for her. She hadn’t started using that particular song until after the Eevee swarm. Fortunately the blush was probably hidden by her flush from the workout.

The chill of the light breeze reminded her she was also rather underdressed. She was clad in her normal shoes and loose black pants gathered at the ankle, and a fairly tight sleeveless red v-neck over a black sports bra. Entirely appropriate for working out, not so much for a conversation. Her red top was folded neatly on a rock nearby, but she didn't really want to put it on this soon after a work out. "Um, what can I help you with?" She asked hesitantly.

The slag jawed expression that the girl wore on her alabaster face that was kissed with the faintest hue of rose at her cheeks was quickly discarded from her face as the woman before her piped up, startled. For a few moments River simply massaged the dull ache that was set deeply in her third and fourth ribs, tresses of crimson fell into the cold blue stare.

“No, no, no,” hurriedly gasped River in a sing-song voice that was laced with pain. “You didn’t bother me at all. You looked so amazing doing whatever that was, totally sexy. I wish I could do something like that.”

Excitement flooded the tone of the former dancer as she bound forward and snapped her knee forward and spun in the air performing a rather impressive three-hundred and sixty degree spinning hook kick, stumbling as she hit the ground the youth giggled and swayed back and forth completely full of energy and mirth. “Do you think you could show me some moves? That would be so awesome Miss Shina. Please?”

(God I hate it when people ask me to “show them some moves” when they see me doing practice exercises. I wanna slap River right now xD )

Shina blinked and tried to process the questions. "Um, well, thank you? I'm not an accredited teacher, but....I suppose if you wanted to get together in the mornings, I could teach you a little? Maybe? Um, how flexible are you?" Shina asked uncertainly. "I wouldn't want to try to teach you anything that you didn't have the flexibility for, you could pull something. Maybe we could start with stretches so I know your range of movement?"

(Oh god, I know. It's like "Yeah, you can't even hold the static resting poses required for this, how the heck do you expect to do something I've trained in for years with five minutes of demonstration? Really?" I mean, I know the idea is to make it look easy, but seriously folks, it isn't! Also, Shina's not trained in any particular school other than the "make them regret grabbing you" school of defense. She has a bit of this, a bit of that, and she likes stringing together moves to music as a way to make staying in shape fun.)

The wide grin that spread its way across her face was almost menacing, was this woman serious? How flexible was she? If she didn’t know any better she would have sworn it was a cheeky pickup line. But that really couldn’t be, could it? Nah! Rolling her shoulders some River flicked the tip of her tongue over the small metal loop at the corner of her lip, this woman wanted to know how flexible she was, oh she was so about to find out.

From her stationary position in the courtyard the former dancer extended her leg and performed a arabesque en pointe, holding the position on the very tip of her toe the lithe figured tomboy brought her leg down from behind herself, held with full control while beginning to perform a pirouette. At first the rotation was slow, then steadily progressed in succession and speed. Rolling forward then springing up into the air River extended both legs into a grand jete, the moment that her foot hit the ground the red haired trainer flipped forward onto her palms and walked towards Shin on her hands.

“As you can see, I am rather flexible. I used to be a professional dancer. Ballet and Free style street dancing.” The words were pushed away from her lips as if saying them stun. Arching her back and bringing her legs over River went into a backbend then forward until she was performing flips with just the aid of momentum that carried her thin frame without her hands. “Flexibility isn’t an issue miss Shina. I assure you.” Roguishly grinned the trainer as she finished her excessive actions.

Shina raised an eyebrow. Okay, flexibility wasn't going to be a problem. "Okay, so we don't need to worry too much about flexibility. Or hearing the beat when working with music. Though really, I just use music to make it a little more fun. It has no practical purpose. Do you know how to fall?" Shina asked in what seemed to be a rather quick change of subject.

“I’m working on that,” candidly retorted the pale complexioned trainer, her cheeks were faintly painted with a hint of rose. “I’ve been playing around with learning parkour, so I have learned the basics of fall breaks and roll a ways. I’m decent at it. Sometimes I still get hurt though, but I am getting better.” Brushing her slender digits through her shaggy crimson bangs River sized Shina up then just shook her head some.

“You’re loaded aren’t you?” Bluntly inquired the tomboy in a tone that was laced with curiosity. Placing her hands on her narrow hips the girl then directed a coy smirk towards the other female as if baiting her. “You totally are a real sweetheart for setting up this whole adventure across the country. Oh… where are my manners. I don’t think I have actually ever introduced myself. My name is River Kingston.” Former professional dancer, she wanted to add but bit her tongue.

Shina nodded as River described what she knew. When River asked about her finances, Shina blushed a bright, rosy pink, but stood straighter and looked River in the eyes. "It is quite early. I imagine your manners are sleeping in," Shina said mildly. "It's a pleasure to meet you, River. I am Shina Kiremono. To answer your question, if my father stopped working this moment, and I never worked a day in my life, it would take until my great-grandchildren's children for the family money to run out, if we continued our current spending patterns," Shina answered plainly. She looked steadily at River, waiting to see what her reaction would be.

The chill in the morning air danced against the youth woman’s sweat soaked frame as she stared at the woman before her, she couldn’t help herself. Honestly she couldn’t. Reaching up with a steady hand River cupped the soft cheek of Shina, her thumb strummed over the brightened flush that rose up on the dark haired trainer’s skin. “A pleasure to meet you then Kiremono ojou-sama.” Politely declared River in a low pitched tenor that was sweet, bowing at the waist the red haired tomboy broke contact from the female in front of her.

“I’m a Kingston, I can relate,” River plainly stated as she took a moment to flick the tip of her tongue across the silver loop at the corner of her lip in a roguish suggestive manner. “I never have to worry about working, I have all the time in the world to enjoy the finer things.” The expression written across her alabaster visage was that of complete confidence, a subtle hint of flirtation infiltrated her manners and tone.

Shina was startled by River's response, but didn't show it. "From the Kingston dance family? I see. One of my dance instructors was trained by a Kingston," Shina said. With a deep breath, Shina abruptly relaxed. "Please, Shina is fine. I apologize for my abruptness. It seems my manners were also abed."

As quickly as that, Shina was once again cheerful and smiling. "You said you were studying Parkour, but you were still having a bit of trouble with your falls? Why don't we start there? After all, if I'm going to teach you throws, you will need to know how to hit the ground safely," Shina told River.

Gawd was this chick made out of ice or what? River wasn’t sure exactly how to react to being brushed off so easily, she was so sure she would get a bigger reason out of the woman. “One in the same,” she casually murmured as she regarded the comment about the Kingston Dance academy. It was her father’s true pride and joy, humph. Bristling noticeably thin digits toyed with the curtain of messy red locks that fell into her icy stare, she moved halfway across the world just to distance herself from the man that dared to pass himself off as her parent. Whatever.

“Shina it is then, really that is a very beautiful name---oh right, falling.” Head over heels. Clearing her throat some River leveled her feminine tone then summoned every bit of restrain that she could muster. If she hadn’t scared the socialite off yet, she knew she would soon if she kept up her pompous show of bravado. “Where should I start? Or rather, how? Hm, one second yeah?” Taking a step away from the other trainer the young woman lifted her baggy t-shirt over her head and dropped the garb to the ground. Lacing her fingers together as she stretched she seemed to make a show of displaying her bare abdomen with only a yellow and black sports bra saving her modesty. The well defined muscles twitched and glistened in the nearly morning rays, the sweat lingering to her lithe, lean body catching the light telling the other woman just how hard of a workout she had been engaging in prior to their meeting.

"You can put your shirt over there," Shina said, gesturing to where her own sat. Shina felt a little more comfortable now that they were in similar states of workout dress. "Basic falls. Um, why don't I just demonstrate, and if you know a fall, you can show me how you do it?" Shina said.

Stepping towards a particularly loamy spot, Shina said "Front fall," and toppled forward. She landed with a slap of her arms, making contact with her palms and entire forearms, her head turned slightly so she looked at her left hand. "Basic idea is to make contact with your entire forearm and palm, keeping your face turned to the side so you don't break your nose if you do it wrong."

The quizzical expression on the young woman’s angular face was only heightened by the cocked eyebrow that jutted up at an awkward angel. “I’m pretty good at front falls. It is side falls that I suck at.” Ignoring the offer to move her clothing to the area that Shina kept her own shirt, River simply mirrored the demonstration that the dark-haired beauty had displayed just moments ago. Diving forward and rolling with well honed grace she hit the ground then sprung back to her feet smirking. “Like that, gorgeous?”

Standing with grass caked to her wrist and forearms the red headed youth toyed with the set of silver and purple loops placed in her right ear. “Or was that wrong?”

Shina pushed smoothly back to her feet. "No, that looked just fine, River. You said you have trouble with side falls? Why don't you show me what you've been doing?" Shina suggested as she dusted the loam from her own arms. She didn't mind the dirt. You could have a good workout and get sweaty and dirty or you could stay clean and get out of shape. She had no plans on getting out of shape. She'd worked too hard to develop her skills to let a little grime get in the way of maintaining them.
