User ImageThe pale lioness padded along quietly, thoughtfully. Her life, she felt, couldn't possibly be any better. Her mating to Txur had brought her pride and happiness, a love she thought she would never feel, a place to call home. Truly she couldn't have been happier..Well, it was a slight lie she had just realised something that made her feel over the moon. Something she just had to tel her mate about and then she would have to inform the rest of the world.

She just had to find him first. With smile and a gentle laugh on her lips she padded towards where she thought he might be, with the other priests, if he wasn't there well, she would wander around all day until she found her blue love.

"Slow down will you, he will still be there when you get there." Grunted her permanent companion, the ever grumpy genet waddled quickly behind her. He too seemed very pleased. He knew really before Petra knew but he hadn't wanted to spring it on her, she needed to find out on her own and she had and now she was walking faster than his short legs could truly do but he was pleased for her, pleased for the both of them. It was something very special.

Txur hurried through the last part of his daily devotions. In some ways the standard prayer regimen had shortened for the priests since Mother Eywa returned to the pride, since they no longer had to pray for her return, but in other ways it had lengthened because they then had to include her in rituals from time to time. Today wasn't a day when Eywa had chosen to participate, and that suited Txur just fine. Those days went faster.

Txur was rushing, of course, because he couldn't wait to get home to his mate. Their marriage was no longer new, exactly, but every day he was still eager to see Petra. The novelty would probably wear off after a while, but he didn't expect it to happen any time soon. This was his soul's mate as well as the mate of his body, and who could get tired of spending time with such a person?

It was a delight to him when he looked up and saw Petra waiting with her genet at the edge of the priests' area of worship. Clach still took some getting used to him Txur's part, but he was one of Eywa's creatures too and so Txur tried to welcome his presence. Petra, at least, was always welcome.

The young pale lioness beamed as Txur approached her and she launched herself towards him. She giggles happily, she didn't very often giggle, it made her feel very girlie and in turn vulnerable.

Her excitement was bubbling over and she tried to stop herself from just blurting out her news. She takes a deep breath and sits back to look at the big male, biting her bottom lip. "I have a surprise for you." She manages, after taking a calm deep breath.

The genet snerks and shakes his head sitting on his haunches to watch the proceedings. He was very amused by the lionesses excitement and he wanted to see what would happen when she sprang the news. The fact thats he was virtually jumping out of her fur to tell her mate made him smile. He pondered how excited the young husband would be to hear.

Txur met Petra's giggles with a wide grin of his own and butted her shoulder with his forehead. He had no idea what made her so happy, but he was happy to share in her happiness, even if he didn't know the cause. Her happiness was his. That was part of being mates.

"All right. Tell me about it!" he said as he began to move away from the area where he worked and spent his days in prayer and contemplation. "Or maybe you need to show me? Either way, I can't wait to know whatever it is you're going to share with me."

Sickeningly enough, Txur was perfectly truthful. He really was genuinely interested in learning whatever it was that had Petra so keyed up. He really was that sweetly in love with Petra. The promise of a surprise also allowed him to completely ignore Clach, which he ordinarily would not have done out of good manners.

Petra stands slowly, the smile on her maw, getting wider, if at all possible, she was dying to tell him, every part of her body tingled with the pressure she was feeling to reveal her great news to the big male that was her mate.

Still she managed to surpress it and simply nudged his shoulder. "Lets go home." She grins playfully and tugs at his mane with her teeth. "You'll like this surprise." She flickers her tail happily, she woudl let him read in to that any way he pleased, she had decided that she wanted to keep him waiting to hear her news, just a little longer. Sometimes she knew she had such a childish nature, but the thought that she could build up the tension in her handsome mate made her smile. She loved him so very much she wanted her words to be some where special and the most special place for them was at their home, their den.

The Ratel waddles along behind them minding his own buisness. He couldn't help but smile, this was a private moment for them and he would just toddle off at some point in their journey back to the den. He too was amused by the fact that Petra was being very silly, he wondered if she could make it all the way back to the den without blurting it out?

Well he would find out later no doubt.

Txur wasn't quite tingling with anticipation, but he was definitely excited about whatever mystery had Petra so pleased. It obviously had to be something very good, for her to be as happy as she seemed to be.

An idea struck him and he glanced down toward Clach. Perhaps the ratel would be able to give him some clue. Oh, he wanted to hear it from Petra herself, but that didn't mean he wasn't curious enough that he wouldn't be glad of a hint. Unfortunately, Clach seemed to be in the mood to be discreet.

"Oh, all right," he agreed, pretending to grumble. He was a very patient lion though, and it wasn't as difficult for him to delay his discovery as others might think.

He grinned and informed his mate, "But this had better be really good."
